  1. There are at least 53 guys on that list who need a change. Let's cut our whole roster and pick 53 guys up on waivers, make that 53 guys we've heard of.
  2. They were both injured in Europe. What is their status with the 53 man roster announced and they're not there, and the cut list announced and they're not there either. Is there a special place for injured Europe players? Are they both PUP'd? Where are these guys? They were still on the roster as "NFL Europe" before today. They are not on any prior cuts: http://www.buffalobills.com/team/Transactions.html
  3. He might still get traded during the season if Nall continues to show (in practice) that he can handle being #2 QB and a team is willing to give us a #3 or conditional 3 or 4 if they lose a QB to injury. If Nall or Losman get hurt Holcomb lasts the season.
  4. Here are the rules. Anyone who was active for 9 or more games is not eligible: Section 4. Eligibility: The practice squad shall consist of the following players, provided that they have not served more than one previous season on a Practice Squad: (i) players who do not have an Accrued Season of NFL experience; and (ii) free agent players who were on the Active List for fewer than nine regular season games during their only Accrued Season(s). No player may be a practice squad player for more than two seasons. (b) A player shall be deemed to have served on a Practice Squad in a season if he has passed the club’s physical and has been a member of a club’s Practice Squad for at least three regular season or post-season games (a bye week counts as a game provided that the player is not terminated until after the regular season or post-season weekend in question).
  5. Why does everyone think Gates will end up in Miami? Mularkey was the one who had him on the inactives just about every week last year, I doubt he thinks much of him.
  6. Carolina took an interesting approach: They had 2 young QBs they found tough to separate in camp so they cut them both figuring they both wouldn't get claimed & will end up with 1 or both on their PS while carrying 2 veteran QBs. In other cuts: I expect Marcus Vick to be on Miami's practice squad, eventually in jail, or both.
  7. Ross Tucker cut by Cleveland
  8. I found an interesting cut to be Adrian McPherson by NO, Fla State QB who got tossed for gambling, went to Arenaball, drafted day 2 last year and most recently run over by a mascot.
  9. I said it was coaching a while ago. http://www.stadiumwall.com/index.php?showt...68entry734968
  10. Dumbest politician had to be the guy who knocked on my door campaigning on a Sunday afternoon in the middle of a Bills' game, when I lived in Kenmore. WNY politicians should know better than interrupting Bills' games-it almost guarantees a vote for their opponent.
  11. I thought the warning was going to be 10 people on this board will want us to sign him because they've heard of him.
  12. The Dolphins main problem is their O line. However, the QB upgrade is so significant, Frerotte to Culpepper. The 2005 Bills went from Bledsoe to Losman 2005. Miami will not be 5-11.
  13. The people who are afraid of problems with Willis (and I'm definitely NOT one of them) are afraid of his agent pulling some stunt once Willis has a big year. Obviously, trading him for a pick before the event that causes their fear is very self-defeating.
  14. Pick up Jay Fiedler for vet minimum. He knows the division & has starting experience. Tampa Bay cut him. Another Ivy leaguer to go with Jauron & Levy.
  15. I saw the movie tonight (8/30). I liked it, but I wondered how factual it was. I checked around the internet & found out some interesting facts: Papale played in the WFL with the Philadelphia Bell. In 1974 he had 9 catches for 121 yds & 1 TD. In 1975 he caught 1 pass for a 49 yard TD. I'm not sure if the Eagles actually had those tryouts or not, or if Papale got a private tryout as a result of his days in the WFL. There was also no TD on the play that ends the movie, the NFL rules prohibited advancing the ball on a play like that in 1976.
  16. Tom Donahoe was interested in him & can work out a deal for him to play for his current team. The Watchingon Sundays.
  17. Just think if TD just took Roy Williams at #4, or traded down slightly to take Roy Williams-we never would have signed Milloy or needed to draft Whitner. The Mike Williams selection just keeps hurting this team over & over again. You can't draft an overweight RT at #4 and expect him to succeed because the guy has a good sense of humor & two parents who are still married to each other.
  18. He found another team that gave him money for nothing in return. What was his signing bonus?
  19. He's talking about QB situation.
  20. He was the starter for all 16 games in SD in 2001. This obviously invalidates your question.
  21. Bowen is not eligible for PUP, he was healthy when camp opened-it's IR or the roster-most likely the roster. I don't think any of the vets listed as cuts would be a surprise. In fact, I'd be shocked if Coy Wire is in Buffalo in September.
  22. I have no animosity towards Rob Johnson & I don't undrestand why people around here do. When he was here he tried his best both on and off the field, and on the field between the injuries and having a better QB on the team the same time he was here for the 1st 3 years, he just didn't live up to expectations. Don't blame Rob Johnson-blame the team's management, from John Butler's trade for him to Ralph's willingness to give hin a big $ contract. It was obvious reading his bio & stats before the trade that he was prone to sacks-which after enough of them will lead to injuries. The week of the trade, I started a string titled "Rob Johnson, the sacked man" He had a very poor sacks to pass ratio before the trade. The bottom line was that Rob Johnson wasn't good enough to be a long term starting NFL QB and Bills management made a mistake thinking that he was. Don't blame Rob for a lack of talent or the Bills management error.
  23. Occam's Razor-He wasn't scheduled to play.
  24. Giants | R. Johnson might be released from team Sun, 27 Aug 2006 13:50:21 -0700 Mike Garafolo, of the Newark Star-Ledger, reports New York Giants QB Rob Johnson was not seen in the team's locker room Sunday, Aug. 27, and might have been released by the team.
  25. Lorenzen will definitely make the Giants. The battle for the roster spot is between Tim Hasselbeck and Rob Johnson-2 guys previously cut by the Bills.
