The Distribution of Income
Booster4324 replied to molson_golden2002's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Thats sad. In a way thats why I became a moderate. I am liberal in a lot of ways but I hate big government and their wasteful ways. Talk about conflicted. I feel for you after those posts as I have worked for a company where the left hand not only didn't know what the right hand was doing, but actively fought them despite it's ignorance. I am glad that the small company I work for (about 200 employees in the home office) is privately owned and receives no government contracts. I am not saying it runs like a well oiled machine but man things get done. And when they are the wrong things they usually reverse course. -
Good thing Japan has a gun ban
Booster4324 replied to VABills's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Umm ok well I assume you are going with the idea that one person doing illegal things can connect you to someone that does other illegal things. I know that most pot dealers (not the big boys who move 10-20 pounds at a bare minimum) dont get anywhere near firearms. Most of the people that deal weed are casual dealers. They buy a few ounces at most and then sell it at a price that allows them to maintain their own habit. Thats probably about 90% (bald ass guess) of the dealers out there. They may know a guy who knows a guy who could get you an unregistered firearm. Doubtful they would get involved mind you. Now if we are talking in the hood that's totally different. -
How many guns were around before the buyback? I honestly dont know and for the record I am pro gun ownership. But, theres a big difference in the study if 600,000 out of 800,000 were bought as opposed to 600,000 out of 8,000,000.

Shouldn't it have been 3.5 nights a week? That's one time that number would have made sense.

http://www.ctnow.com/custom/nmm/hartfordad...ity-ha-advocate Bad enough. But here’s the chilling part, as revealed in Bill Moyers’ upcoming Buying the War (which will air on PBS on Wednesday, April 25 at 9 p.m.): after the president’s speech the White House press corps, those highly paid and highly visible big shots from CBS, CNN, the New York Times , The Washington Post and so on, started rasing their hands. But certain reporters had been pre-selected by the administration to be chosen by the president, something that everybody in the room was aware of. At one point, the president is shown to say, “This is scripted” and he makes a little laugh. Among the tough questions thrown to the president, or should we say, pre-selected, were “How is your faith guiding you?” to which the president responded, “ Quoted from the article. A scripted press conference on the war? How did I miss this and wtf? Is this for real? There seem to be a fair number of intelligent conservatives on this board. Is there a rebuttal to this? I will withhold my own take for now with one exception...if this proves to be true then the media should fry for it.

This draft reminds me of being a kid in a candy shop...

Nicely done! -
That was awesome stuff. Drafting The Duke. LMAO

Actually it would seem the newstory alone was probably worth 100k for both companies.

Umm let's just agree to disagree.

A very classy move on Al Wilson's part. If I recall Bledsoe did the same when he left.

32 killed in Va. Tech shootings
Booster4324 replied to stuckincincy's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Oh very tragic I admit. The whole thing is a tragedy. However, it seems human nature for some to not only gawk over tragedies, but for others to try and take what solace they can. Many times the impulses are mixed. One can hope that his example will inspire others. I doubt any of his students will ever forget him. -

Agreed. It seems he delayed the gunman and told his students to flee. He paid for this with his life. According to the stories I read he blocked the door and gave his students time to escape out the windows. I could only hope I could perform half that well under such dire pressure. -
Wait, wheres the choice for trading it to SD for Turner? Love the Willis pick so I am cool with that.

You know I wonder, how much impact the media has on all this. Not their effect on the victims and their families, but future killers. Everyone is pointing fingers atm without half the story even being available yet. I am not saying the media is necessarily to blame for this but it seems they may have some small impact here. It's gone from 15 minutes of fame to 15 days in the more reprehensible cases. Someone should cover the media's possible responsibility here...oh wait nm.

No doubt. Even my conservative friends are feeling bad about him. Anyone who supports Bush at this point is backed into a corner at best. Oh and I voted for him the 1st time so I have a right to B word. Alternately you can blame me. -
Someone in Philadelphia made a big mistake...
Booster4324 replied to Buftex's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Of course he didnt cash two 3 million dollar checks. That would make it far worse if he did. But one would assume that he got some sort of notification about it. One would further assume that he has some vague inkling about his balance in his account. If hes the type that cant balance his account in his head with a 7 figure mistake then hes a complete moron. -

OMFG I think Westbrook would have noticed right away. So he cashed the check? I mean one time this bank teller paid me twice on my piddly little check and I noticed. I gave it right back. 3 million? -

IIRC thats pretty much the way it went down. Rush slammed the media not McNabb. With that said Rush is a contemptible human being that deserved it for other things he said. Mind you hes slick and just slides in the knife as opposed to butchering someone. I listen to him on occasion and hes a great liar. Oh and as to Donovan I agree with him...the media wanted to make him out to be far greater than he was. -
Bills will have a better chance to win the Super Bowl
Booster4324 replied to firstngoal's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I understand what you are saying. I think the Bills will be competitive though. We may not make the playoffs but I think the Marv Levy plan is a 3 year one...of course that may be a bit much considering the ages of the GM and owner. -
Umm John Daly did. Hes barred from all the Tunica casino's. He owes over a million dollars to them.

http://cbs.sportsline.com/nfl/story/10125871 Oh btw I saw Jordan lose like 300k personally. Funny part was he tipped like $100 a drink and the waitresses whined about getting money from him. My wife was actually cool about it. $100 for a drink wth?

Casinos are famous for markers. They will just hand you money and then let you lose it all. Oddly enough I believe a law was passed recently against loaning too much. I would bet Pacman walks away after he loses 300k and then denies the debt.
-
According to my casino sources He is currently 200K in the hole gambling on a marker. He seems to prefer Dom to boot. Funny who knew he had even a a bit class.

Patrick Willis silly. I dont know why we would boo him though
