  1. There are rules about practice during the bye week in the CBA. They could have had single 3-hour non-padded practices on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, but no team does that. You would get a really bad reputation around the league amongst players for not giving them the whole bye week off. Most players go on vacation. I know that we want them to have fully-padded two-a-day practices with Oklahoma drills to punish them for our anguish over all the losing, but that's not how it works.
  2. Cowherd has been saying for years that "teams can't win with a defensive head coach," and then advocates for Belichick.
  3. NFL salary cap rules are insane. Next year, Von's dead cap hit is higher than the cap hit of keeping him on the roster.
  4. He's so going back to Philly. We're not a contender right now and they have an injury at TE.
  5. It's not really a rumor. In 2021, he was investigated for something that wasn't disclosed and the DA decided not to try the case. He was a Broncos player at the time and the investigation was done in Colorado. I know that Bengals players get away with A LOT because the Hamilton County DA is a season ticket holder. https://www.denverpost.com/2021/02/23/von-miller-criminal-investigation-prosecutor/
  6. That would only save Pegula money. The Bills are still on the hook for a mountain of dead cap.
  7. Apparently, players cannot be cut during the bye week.
  8. He rocks back, then drops and moves forward as he's snapping the ball. It's a triple false start. But the league loves it as a novelty play and because a big market team is running it with a cute nickname so the refs must have been told not to call the penalty.
  9. Cancel the Internet? That would solve so many problems...
  10. Such is the life of a sports fan. People here in Cincinnati will tell you that what Joe Mixon did wasn't all that bad and that's on video.
  11. The Eagles, as an organization, just want the rest of the league to declare their genius 1908 flying wedge play unstoppable and concede the yard. BTW, Kelce false starts on that play every time. It's in the play design for him to drop and start moving forward before snapping the ball.
  12. They cannot have organized practices over the bye per the CBA.
  13. Albert Breer wrote a really interesting article on Tepper and why he fires coaches left and right: https://www.si.com/nfl/2023/11/28/carolina-panthers-david-tepper-frank-reich-fired-philosophy The upshot is that he thinks like a hedge fund manager and "doesn't let one mistake become two." He's got his hand in all aspects of the team, but he doesn't know football and tries to apply what he knows from finance (a results business) to sports (a process business). Football is ultimately a results business but sometimes a rebuilding team needs to let a process play out but he wants to get results right away. He cuts his losses really quickly, but that has resulted in over 20% of the games that the Panthers have played since he bought the team being coached by an interim. He has a roster full of players that were drafted for other systems. Apparently what drove him nuts this time was some in-game decision-making regarding attempting long FGs and questionable time-outs. It's like how a TBDer would fire coaches if they were given the power. I know that Pegula can be a bit too patient with McDermott, but the other extreme is even worse.
  14. He is always hurt in Cincinnati and tends to drop of lot of balls. Just not against the Bills.
  15. They did sign Orlando Brown in Free Agency last year, but their only draft pick on the OL was Jackson Carman in second in 2021. They keep trying to overpay guys that other teams are fine moving on from and drafting defense. The majority of their picks since drafting Chase with their first in 2021 have been DEs and DBs.
  16. The Bengals are finally going to have to draft an OT in the first round. Otherwise, they are "Andrew Lucking" Joe Burrow.
  17. This one wouldn't be sticking with any of us if they had not lost to the Jets, Pats, and the Broncos. That was a great game between two really good teams. It just so happens that one of those good teams lost three games that they had no business losing so this loss means much more than it should.
  18. Up until this year, you would have said the same thing about Ohio State
  19. The worst part of this is that we have to sit with that loss for two weeks.
  20. Jim Harbaugh will be the next head coach of the Los Vegas Raiders. Just seems like a Mark Davis type of move.
  21. All night tonight Romo was talking about “championship pedigree.” Winning is a learned trait. I’ve said for years that we lose these close games because our guys are not winners.
  22. Joe Burrow won a National Championship. He also took a perennial loser to the Ohio state championship game. This is a thing.
