Please say it isn't so.

This thread just keeps getting better. Don't you mean than....or was your supreme intelligence just testing us?
-
That's a very broad brush of generalization you are using there. Charges are often based upon the intent(perceived intent or provable intent) of the person involved.
-
Didn't somebody famous(dear to many Bills fans) once say something like......"If you listen to the fans, you'll soon be sitting with them."?
-
Not really. If the reporter is to be believed then Carolina will franchise Peppers(within 24 hours) unless something major happens to change their plan. OJS didn't say "Peppers has been franchised"......"Peppers to be franchised" is exactly what the article says.
-
If all goes according to plan, the Carolina Panthers will re-sign offensive tackle Jordan Gross and place the franchise tag on Julius Peppers sometime in the next 24 hours.

Highest punt return career average in league history(75 returns min).

An end to the myth..."QB is not the problem"

Your sick of the win stat. How selective of you. That stat no good because it goes against what I think.....this stat good because it backs up my thoughts. FWIW..... Troy Aikman had only 3 games, yes a measly 3 games with MORE than 1 TD pass(in his first 23 starts). He also had passed for less than a measly 200 yards in 14 of his 23 full games...thats over 60%...he had more games with ZERO TD's than he did with more than 1... What does this prove??? Nothing. I'm really not sure what you are trying to prove with all your attempts at showing stats. You can't prove a player will or won't be good based upon stats from early in their careers. "winning games for us"? Most would class come from behind victories as winning games.....even if the player played average/poor earlier in the game. -
Yep, that's always a wise thing to do.

Browns are trying to trade Derek Anderson
Dibs replied to bananathumb's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Actually......if we traded for him, the initial signing bonus would not carry over to us(they never do). The remainder of the amortized bonus would hit the Browns in one lump. -

Why bother? This has nothing to do with the comparison of TE & DA......and everything to do with how good DA is(or isn't) & how much he would cost. He certainly has not shown himself to be a reliable starter.....just like TE to this point. Based upon his performances you'd have to be 'taking a chance' on trading for him. He would cost $6.45mil this season & $9.45mil next(with $2mil guaranteed)......and then he is a free agent. If he under-performs then he will be a massively over-paid backup. If he performs well....he'll hit the FA market & likely leave. I can see no sense in the Bills trading for him. -

I think people are perhaps getting confused in this thread. This is a "the sky is blue" type of post. Everyone(pretty much) knows that the QB production has been terrible(which is your point). The difference is that we all know that we are pretty much locked in with TE for at least another season based upon his potential. There is no 'quick fix' for the passing situation......as opposed to perhaps the pass rush situation, the OL situation or the pass receiving situation where we could conceivably bring in FA help or have hopes for good production from a rookie. There is nothing realistically that can be done about the QB situation at the moment......we sit & wait & hope. Unless you have some sort of theory which could fix things.......all you have said is "the sky is blue". -
Thanks for the support guys......much appreciated. Apart from the donation link that Dan provided there's not much that one can do. The entire country here has rallied round. Millions were collected in the first day. Virtually every big business has donated money/goods. Hundreds of ordinary people have been traveling massive distances to drop off food/water/clothes/toiletries etc. The government has called in the army for help & declared the situation a national disaster which I believe opens up the emergency funds. The good side of disaster is seeing the human spirit for determination & compassion come to the fore. This sort of thing really helps one appreciate what we have......which so often gets taken for granted. Thanks again for the support.

Apparently the conditions are such that the 'standard rules' have not applied. On Saturday there were gale force winds & 46(115)degree heat....coming off a week of 40+ degrees.....in a multi-year dry spell(drought). One town in particular, King Lake, had all of their local fire fighters out fighting elsewhere when one started up near the town. They only had 3-5mins of warning before they were hit by an inferno. The town has basically been wiped out. From that area alone it looks like over 40 deaths and 500 houses lost.

Me & mine are safe. My brother-in-law lives in Wandong and had to evacuate as the houses over the road were going up. We found out today that his house survived. It's been absolutely horrific. I run 3 APL(Australian Poker League) Franchises and my regions cover most of the effected areas. Every person I ring or speak to has a new horror story. My staff and a large number of my players have been hit badly by the fires. I have never in the past been effected by bushfires(being from the burbs)......but this weekend.... I sent a text message to several of my players who had earned entry into our six-monthly $500,000 tournament to let them know that I had organized special 'team' shirts for them to wear at big event. I got a call back from one of them thanking me for the shirt as it would be all he had left to wear.....he had lost everything to the fires. Needless to say I am rooting for him to do well this weekend. One of my staff spent the day yesterday up at one of the worst effected areas. 3 of his mates had lost houses......with one losing their younger brother & sister. Tonight I was out at one of my poker events(averages 35-40 players). One had lost his house......another had broken police lines to try and find his friends(which he did...they had perished). The stories just kept coming. Shortly after starting I had a call from one of my other events. My TD(tournament director) there was having a hard time. His partner had just gotten word that her best friend(and family) had been taken by the fires......then shortly after, one of his best mates(a player) rocked up in tears as he too had lost loved ones. When I got over there, one of our super regular players had turned up. He had lost his house with his family losing a total of 5 houses. He's an older fella and was obviously not coping.....he still had loved ones unaccounted for. I went to a 3rd event where one of my players(who used to work for me & we buy trophies off his mum) bolted out of the tournament as his mum had gone back to their house(which had luckily survived on Saturday).....she had called him saying the fires were coming back. And it isn't stopping. Areas which had been hit and controlled are now under threat again. It's just bloody horrific.

I don't understand the question.

Shane Conlan 1987-1995.....1987-1992 with Bills(LILB) 77 starts for Bills.....500 tackles for Bills Defensive Rookie of the Year 1987 3 Pro Bowls 1988-1990

His contract garnered $21mil in guaranteed money. He is still owed over $9.5mil in guaranteed money(due to C2C accounting). Normally a player would have had the full $21mil as a signing bonus up front. It is only year 3 of his 7 year deal. If he can't come back from his injury to a similar level as before.....his contract will hurt us......but not as much as if we didn't use C2C.
-
Unlikely they would sign & trade him.......just tag him & trade his rights. If the Panthers were to sign him to anything over a one year deal they would have to eat any signing bonus he got. He would likely work out his new deal with the new team before the trade is agreed upon.

We've been drafting from the 11th spot or so for years now....

Good golly SKOOBY......6 new threads in 9 minutes. That's gotta be some kind of record. -
Insults might come easily to those that find it hard to live up to even their own lowly standards in life, imbibe too much alcohol in order to help forget the futility of their own pointless existence and struggle with internal concepts about their own masculinity......but I personally find it difficult to come up with imaginative insults.

Too much work to be able to go out and relax Record breaking heat wave. That sounds great.....the MCG is still the best ground in the world in regards to atmosphere IMO.

Who Do You Think Is The Most Overpaid And Underpaid Bill?
Dibs replied to Steely Dan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Perhaps you would care to share your knowledge and explain the apparent anomaly that is Schobel. How does somebody who is mediocre and more inconsistent than the norm garner so many sacks compared to most other DEs? -
Why teams don't like drafting at the top
Dibs replied to San Jose Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Did you mean to say a high 3rd.....or high 2nd?According to that chart..... #11 = 1250 #4 = 1800 The difference is 550......which equates to pick #35(3rd pick in 2nd round).....not a high 3rd rounder.
