  1. I found Win8 horrible. It is an obvious attempt to appear new & hip in that it is designed to look/feel like a phone/tablet. Once you figure out how to get to your desktop.....and why one would want to use their computer without having immediate direct access to it baffles me....but once you get there, it's not so bad. The problems occur due to certain aspects of the system forcing you to go back to your front page tablet view to perform certain functions etc. This becomes very confusing.....and extremely annoying. I still haven't figured how to have it auto log-in. Every time one has to type in name and password just to have a quick look.....again this seems to be based for a highly mobile tablet & not a sit in your study PC. Any system which I need to go through several illogical steps to simply shut it down gets my stamp of disapproval. I hate it.
  2. That article is a year old & rates the OGs from the 2011 season. He may be top 5 now.....or out of the top 10.
  3. Why all the bold? It's making my eyes go funny.
  4. 2 dice? 11 But nobody is syaing, I am not saying & have never said that they are not educated guesses.....in fact, that's exactly what I call them. Again I say that you don't seem to understand why people call it a crap shoot. To quibble over the fact that dice are fixed in their determination while players are.....for the use of a better word, random in their determination....is irrelevant. What is relevant is that to all the people who see a top prospect & say "He is a sure thing", these people should understand that there is no sure thing.....that through all of the random elements(lots of them), that player may end up on the scrap heap after 1 year.....they may become a journeyman type player.....they may become a solid starter....an occasional probowler....an all-pro.....or a HOFer...............and in fact, even with the "sure thing" player, they are more likely to never become even a solid starter. The randomness of the end result is like rolling 2 dice(though obviously not exactly the same). You roll your dice.....and hope the number that comes up is a good one. I'm not sure that anybody in this thread even implied that draft evaluation is meaningless.....I'll just check....nope, can't find any. What people were saying was that after all of the meaningful evaluation which regularly & correctly ascertains nearly all of the best prospects, it becomes a random proposition as to whether those prospects "hit" or "miss" (your 2nd sentence).
  5. Thanks for the info.....and I wasn't advocating cutting him.....just wanted clarification on those rules. Personally I think he is an asset to this team....brick hands and all.
  6. ....and if they have been, why would they expect you to start believing them now?
  7. Sorry, no......but Wilson & Barnett got cut.
  8. I still think that you don't understand the crap-shoot analogy. There is more(much more) chance to "hit" when using a higher pick. Though this is often ignored by some people.....it is an obvious truth. There is however no guarantee.....even when using the very top draft picks(top 4) that your player picked is going to "hit"......thus calling it a crap shoot. Even though you "think" you are selecting a can't miss, multi pro-bowler, future HOF type.....he might still be a bust.....and for most positions has a higher than 50% chance of being a bust no matter where he is chosen in the draft.
  9. It's only been 1 in the last 5 though.
  10. ....and I'm happy for you to be disagreeable.
  11. He's been taken off IR, so I don't think that applies now(?)
  12. Both over and done with now.....I'll agree to disagree.
  13. I can understand that some may feel he was perhaps over-rated(by other Bills fans, not media).....but 78 Sacks(2nd Bills all-time) & 2 pro-bowls. He was a good player......certainly not "absolutely horrible" as leaving him out of your original post would suggest. You also forgot Phil Hansen.
  14. You forgot Schobel. I don't think they do. They've got their big contracts.....now they can sit back and relax for 3 years before retiring into the media.
  15. Hopefully we not only try this draft....but get lucky and don't need to do it again for another 18 years.
  16. Round trip to Mars with your wife Is that a euphemism for something? (Cue Uranus jokes in 3, 2, 1...)
  17. I distinctly remember Dareus being universally predicted to be a top 4 talent. It was a no-brainer pick which to this point has not panned out as one would hope. 3rd year DT......that's the year to assess them.
  18. No, I already factored Kelsay into my number. The number they have is 19.68m A Fitz re-structure could save us a bit more though....
  19. According to this site.... http://www.overthecap.com/nfl-cap-space.php?Year=2013 ....we would be at around the 25m mark.
  20. To large large extent(not totally), I believe that. When you regularly get prospects who all believe will be great.....and are drafted accordingly....who don't pan out(due to whatever reason).....it shows that there is a large element of randomness/luck involved.
  21. I think he meant that now that there is legitimate news to focus on, people won't be adding to the 19 pages of "discussion" in the Nelson thread.
  22. But all of the great logical thinkers here thought that. I bet they traded him just to spite them.
  23. You act like there is a special award given to the longest tenured player.
