I understand that scientists and medics should be working to prevent the possible spread of the flu, but can we prevent the average hypochondriac on the street from hearing about this until it is really necessary? (obviously not realistic) There is much more danger in the panic provoked through irresponsible journalism than most of the pandemic/environmental tragedies that are "only a matter of time". A lot of people don't seem to realize that the chance of a pandemic is very small. Scientists and the Medical fields prepare for almost all possibilities, the general public can hold off on purchasing air tight bubbles to live in!

This is going to be horrible! I'm still recovering from the terrible swine flu, SARS, anthrax and flesh eating bacteria eppidemics. Not to mention Y2K and global warming! The Kennedys cars are more likely to kill you then the bird flu! Why do people seem to latch on to every new "end of the world as we know it" story?

I could see two outcomes from this "Day Without Document Challenged People". 1. They succeed in harming the economy and shutting down many cities. Citizens get angry and realize that the illegals are willing to screw this country and it's legal citizens to get whet they want. The backlash leads to much greater support for getting rid of the illegals. 2. No real effect on the economy or daily lives of the citizens. People realize that enforcing immigration laws will not lead to the total collapse of our economy. Taxes go down due to the lighter load on our healh care system, schools, social services, etc. Either way the U.S.A. wins.

I didn't know "criminal" was a race now. Is there any argument a liberal can't answer with the race card?

Why earn your Citizenship and the respect of Americans when you can simply demand it through protest. If they succeed in scaring the American citizens with millions of people marching and the threat of crippling the economies of these cities, people will realize that they need to be stopped before our country is overrun by Illegals who don't respect our citizens or laws. The majority of these protesters are not the timid farmworkers just trying to earn a living that are portrayed on t.v. These protesters are taking advantage of us and will not make decent citizens. We have enough of an entitlement crowd in this country already.

I think the answer is obvious now! Mexicans in the U.S. should no longer be allowed to earn more than $4.35 a day.

Would you see a problem if America exported our unemployed to a south American country and forcibly took over the country? If you think forcing employers, Government offices, Doctors offices, etc to cater to the Spanish speaking population isn't a burden, you are nuts. When an immigrant group sues and protests and threatens to harm our economy with walk-outs, they have officially become a burden!

For the most part I have a great time hanging out with the canadian fans at the games, I just find you very annoying. For someone who apparently has a very tough time with spelling and grammar you don't hold back with the criticism of our President and his grammar. Is a "whinner" a good thing or a bad thing? Are you trying to say winner or whiner? I'll assume winner.

The only way a threat is effective is if the person thinks you may follow through. That is why nobody fears the democrat threats of force. If you see someone with his hands in his pockets you could not shoot him because Liberals in Chicage have pre-emptively banned handguns for fear someone might shoot an innocent person. I guess when Liberals pre-emptively ban gun ownership by law abiding US citizens it is OK, but when Conservatives try to ban Mulsim extremists from owning nukes it is wrong? Anyone who says the US is the equivalent of Iraq has some serious problems. And trust me, if Iran thought any time was the "perfect time to attack the US", it would not hesitate. Iran does not attack us because they know they would be destroyed...nothing else prevents a country like Iran from attacking us infidels! If you really feel that the poor oppressed Iranians have such good points in this argument, why don't you take a trip over there and see how well you are treated as an American. When you don't make it out alive we can write an article about how they had the right to kill you because of their beliefs and we should not be judging them for it.

I've got a great protest idea! Instead of "A day without illegal immigrants", lets have EVERY day without illegal immigrants. That will really show those oppressive, mean, law abiding Gringos! Prepare for some serious backlash due to these protests. Americans will get really tired of hearing how mexicans are entitled to take whatever they want from this country because they don't agree with our laws. The same people who supposedly want nothing more than to be citizens in America have no problem attempting to harm the economy and screw the average American.

They will do the jobs if you take away the option of sitting home collecting welfare and unemployment! I'll gladly pay $6 a pound for bacon if I make up for that in tax savings. No need to take 35% of workers income if we aren't paying for uninsured illegals' healthcare and government handouts to the lazy!
