We are always in the Corrolla lot in line with the Jim Ball billboard. We have a big blue tent and 4 flags flying (2 bills, American, and POW). Stop by if you are in the area. -

I'll be there at 8:00 with a High Life and a Montecristo! Cheap beer and good cigars always taste better in the parking lot of the Ralph. Wings, my own "Circle the Wagons" chilli, and venison tenderloin are on the menu. -

So as long as I yell "I'm not fighting you", I can punch you without the risk of retaliation or prosecution? God knows you can't say one thing and do the opposite! -

And while they are taking 2 hours to remove some idiot from a library somebody is waiting for their help. The bottom line is this kid broke the law and continued to break the law by trespassing and resisting arrest. I hope when you need the cops to protect you, they are unable to. Perhaps due to rediculous restrictions placed on them by anti-cop zealots like you. -

I'm sure some people are victims of circumstance. I don't feel you can base a government policy that forces a company to pay higher wages and benefits on a small minority of low wage earners. It is better to turn to Government programs when you have a situation like you describe instead of forcing changes for all low wage earners. If Government programs did a better job of helping those who are truly in need and weeding out those who take advantage of the system, there would be plenty of money to help the people you describe. It is much easier to blame big bad corporations though. -

I said I don't have a problem with punishing Wal-mart for hiring illegals! What part of theat sentence don't you understand? -
You are trying to point out bias by Fox and using the Huffington Post as documentation. Brilliant.

Show me in my post where I called anyone stupid. Lots of smart people make poor choices in life and are forced to pay for that later in life. Show me someone who worked hard in school or in a trade and I will be willing to bet they do not make minimum wage! I know many unintelligent people who made a nice life for themselves through hard work. -

I don't have a problem with punishing Wal-Mart if they hire illegals. I do have a problem when Government wants to punish them for turning a profit and using them as a scapegoat for someone elses failures in life. If they were truly underpaying their employees, they would not be able to hire workers at the rates they offer. Obviously they are paying plenty because people are lining up to work there. The market should dictate wages, not the Government. -

So you don't agree that adults making minimum wage are generally the people that did not work hard in school and early employment? The big difference between what I said and what Kerry said is that I am making the assumption about adults who are forced to work minimum wage jobs, and Kerry made his remarks about people who choose to join the military! I don't put our soldiers and Wal-Mart shelf stockers on the same level. If I offend some 40 year old who is still working the registers at Wal-Mart I don't care. You will also not hear me making some retarded appology for my comments. -

I am not a religious person, and don't find this topic to be about religion. I know many non-religious people who I would consider very caring and compassionate, and some religious people who are not. I am also an Economics major, so I place more value on the laws of supply and demand than a made up number such as the poverty level. There is an article in todays Rochester paper on Medicaid fraud. NY State has paid at least $3.6 million in Medicaid payments for dead people. It sums up the incompetence of the people running these welfare programs. If the market eliminated my job, I would have the skills and education to find a new job. It may be tough for a while, but that is what many years of hard work and fiscal responsibility prepare you for. As I said before, there are certain people that need and deserve the Government handouts, but the majority of the people collecting these handouts do not fall into this catagory. -

I am against most welfare programs. They often times fail to help the people that they were set up to assist. If someone simply refuses to work (2 jobs if necessary), I see nothing wrong with letting them starve while providing food and shelter to their children only. If you are incapable of supporting yourself, that is when public assistance should step in. I realize that there will always be people taking advantage of the system. I see many people in the stores purchase food with their food stamps and tobacco and beer with their own money. It is not fair to force a company to provide higher wages and more benefits than the market demands simply because it makes a large profit. It is not Walmart's job to provide welfare programs. We all "suffer" to some degree for the choices we make in life. I should not have to pay for someone elses poor decisions. If you feel the need to help them, by all means be "christian" and give money to a charity. -

I now have a reason to dislike Obama. He has teamed up with some of the anti-Walmart groups. I can't stand all the crying about Walmart paying low wages and poor benefits. Nobody has ever been forced to work for them. Most people who work there appreciate their job. Let's try to destroy one of the biggest employers in the country because they are a big bad business! I can almost remember when it was a good thing when a business succeeded and produced great profits. If you are working an entry level job at Walmart and you are not a kid or retiree, you most likely made some bad choices in life. I don't know too many people who worked hard in school, went to college or work after high school and again worked hard, and ended up making minimum wage for a retailer as an adult! wakeupobama -

But does anyone know what he has done or plans to do? I understand he has a good personality. I have even heard the incredibly demeaning "he speaks so well for a black man" quote more than a few times. Perhaps the lack of political history would help him, but it would also put a big target on him once the real debating starts. It would certainly make things interesting. I have to admit, I don't dislike him as much as the other Democrat possibilities, so maybe there is something to the "put a charismatic newcomer in the mix" strategy.
