  1. it will be a cold day in hell when someone offers us a 1st rounder for McGahee. I would certainly trade him for it if someone did offer it however.
  2. Dude, don't you know? Donovan McNabb is a worthless sack of monkey shite. Most 4-time pro bowlers are. He sucks. Jeff Garcia pwns all. /book
  3. LOL, you obviously didn't read my first post. I was defending McCargo. I agree with everything you said here. No, Tripplett and McCargo play the same DT position. The whole idea is to have enough DT's to rotate on a consistent basis so that they stay fresh, considering that the whole philosophy is to penetrate into the backfield and bust up a play, versus the Ted Washington hunker down in the middle and don't move philosophy. No, not true. He was never supposed to start next to tripplett this year. they in fact play the same position. the way we rotate DT's anyway, the starter only plays half the snaps anyway, so the whole point of who "starts" is fairly negligable.. Talk about exaggeration to prove a point. No one I've read on this board has put him one step away from the pro bowl already. I have, however, read a lot of posts that have very high expectations for him to be really good considering we traded up into the 1st round to get him. if you don't have high expectations for a player to be killer who you traded up for in the 1st round then i don't know how you can have expectations for any player! Nothing, it just seemed to me that you want to throw him to the wolves already because he's not an immediate HOF player. The fact is that we need to play him as much as possible to see what he's got. That's it. Five games does not tell the story one way or the other. That's why, imo, your analysis is premature at best.
  4. thug (tbd definition): "Underacheiving African American Athlete"
  5. my point is that smith was under constant pressure the whole game, every time he dropped back to pass. that is on the oline. they were a sieve. i can't remember each individual sack and i completely agree that smith was just terrible last night in general but when you are scrambling out of the pocket for your life on every drop back pass, that is just terrible oline play
  6. Yes, let's bench our pro bowl kickoff returner because he doesn't make the pro bowl every year. Honestly?
  7. OSU's oline wasn't as bad as you think? Really? Constant pressure throughout the whole game where he couldn't stand in the pocket and make consistent throws? I'm certainly not denying that Smith held the ball too long some of those times and didn't feel the pressure, but honestly, Florida was all over him the whole game.
  8. okay, fair enough, but for whatever reason, even when the coaches change, the SEC has perenially been the far and away best conference. so whatever the magic formula is, it works. you can't deny that.
  9. LOL, If that isn't a ringing endorsement I don't know what is!
  10. The guy was a rookie who got hurt. Also, he doesn't play Anderson or Williams position. He plays the other DT position, which is different. So you could say he didn't beat out Tripplett to start, who of course was going to start after we threw money at him in the offseason. Of course people are counting on mcCargo because he was a 1st round pick. It just boggles my mind when people want to throw someone to the wolves because they weren't an immediate HOF player in their rookie year, especially when they missed most of the season due to injury. I certainly agree we need DT help but the constant kneejerk reactions has got to stop (not that it ever will, since it is pretty much a definition of being a diehard, but ya know )
  11. I agree with this post. Clements is the best of the above list, although my favorite of this bunch was definitely winfield. but yeah, get ready for a early first day CB. it's gonna happen. even if we threw all the money in the world at clements he wouldn't take it because he does not want to be in buffalo anymore.
  12. yes, that is exactly the way i feel. i hate him, but i would never in a million years bet against him because he is that good.
  13. Peerless Price is not gonna cut it as a #2. We need someone to take some of the pressure off evans. we definitely need a legit #2, although i will admit there are more pressing areas, but it is a big need imo.
  14. So by "excelled" (which I take to me "elite") you actually mean "still plays in the NFL"? Witten obviously is an above average TE, although he had an off-year this year (he got better when Romo took the reins). Peerless was a great flash in the pan during his first time with us, but obviously has never been a consistent top-shelf WR. Stallworth has the potential but has been injury prone and who knows? Erik Parker? Kelley Washington? They haven't done anything to merit attention as special. Cedrick Wilson? Same thing. My point is that I would say that UT WR's are the definition of Under Producing in the NFL....
  15. The point Ralph is making is about the future and the financial viability of the team to compete in the future as the NFL moves toward a more unbalanced gap between small and large market owners, i.e., the jerry joneses and danny snyder's finding loopholes to exploit additional revenue streams not available to small market clubs. this is a real concern, and whether ralph is blowing steam up everyone's arse or not, better him fight like a b**tard to get the best deal for the small market teams than fold tent and become MLB. But you would rather ralph STFU and the Bills eventually move from Buffalo than Ralph keep on "posturing"? I doubt that. I don't see what your problem is here. Ralph "posturing" can only be a good thing for the Bills and shows Ralph's committment to the franchise STAYING in Buffalo. So what if he annoys you? Deal with it.
  16. Really? I'm curious for you to list the UT receivers who have "excelled" over the last ten years or so....
  17. What a beautifully trolled thread. He started out with a thesis that seemed plausible on the surface, uses some convoluted reasoning that hits certain notes long enough to give the appearance of propriety, then sits back and watches the minions flail away as they frantically argue the apparently obvious till they're blue in the face. Subtlety, it appears, is not a lost trolling art But then perhaps I give too much credit? I doubt it, however.
  18. Very well said and analyzed. All in all, Taylor has neither been as I first blindly stated "not durable" but neither has he been the Curtis Martin model of consistency. And now, being over 30, he can only get less consistent and has more wear on the tires. Thanks, but no thanks to Fred Taylor, who certainly is still a talented back but not as the single workhorse.
  19. The Abominable Snowman told me there is no Schottenheimer Curse anymore because the Monster that used to live in Schottenheimer's closet died since he became coach of SD. Is there any wonder that the writing is on the wall about superstition?
  20. yeah this seems like an owner mandated thing.
  21. Well !@#$ U U !@#$ing arsehole it looks like you're !@#$head arse is right!!! I stand corrected, you prick.... I'd rather have a younger back that the team can grow with. If its not McGahee, then draft or sign a younger back.
