  1. Collier out for the season - unfortunate turn of events for him. The door is wide open for Burrow now.
  2. This is interesting -- never really thought about Braxton Miller and Michael Thomas head to head. I love Miller more than many of my family members, but I consider Thomas by far the more polished, NFL-ready receiver. Miller has game-breaking potential, though. In this particular offense, pass on Thomas, keep Woods in the two spot, and have Miller fill the Harvin role.
  3. Well you're a better man than me for making the effort!
  4. Not relevant to the spring game, but the bolded comment above is an important part of the Cardale Jones draft analysis that lots of people don't seem to understand.
  5. Fun day on BTN yesterday. Definitely a lot of exciting talent on display. Has Weber always looked so jacked, or has Coach Marotti been working magic in the weight room again? Glad to see Burrow playing with confidence. The Bucks will probably need him to step up at some point this year given the way Urban runs his QBs into the ground. I agree the defense looked pretty aggressive, but I couldn't tell if that was because of the incomplete o-lines. Either way, I look forward to watching all these kids - even though I could see them dropping several games this fall.
  6. SIX Buckeyes visiting the Bills this weekend? I must be dreaming.
  7. I'd be alright with Cardale coming to Buffalo. He faced two significant challenges that limited his opportunities at Ohio State: (1) immaturity early in his college career (most famously, "the tweet"), and (2) last year his offensive coordinator was on the sideline coaching the o-line instead of focusing on making the offense go. I have no concerns about his maturity; it has been an absolute pleasure to watch that confident and hilarious young man grow up. The second part... I just don't know. Seems to me that when put in a good situation with proper coaching and talent around him he can do amazing things like we saw at the end of 2014. Edit: I should add that the second round is too high in my view -- after EJ I'm hesitant to spend another high draft pick on another project with big potential upside.
  8. Yeah, Alabama's ST overall is the gold standard and wins games. I'm an Ohio State fan and Bama's punter almost gave me an ulcer during last year's playoff. Kid was unconscious. One thing watching Saban and Urban has taught me is that in order to be a championship team you must emphasize and celebrate ST (**cough Carpenter**).
  9. No - Bama took the damn thing. The program, Saban, the whole thing is incredible. Congrats to the champs. It is my contention that Clemson fans must be especially miserable today after being so close despite so many terrible things happening to their team over the course of the game.
  10. Clemson gave up two TDs on blown coverage, a blocked field goal, a kickoff return for a TD, and got burned on an onside kick ... and still only lost by 5. If I was a Clemson fan I'd be absolutely miserable.
  11. Congrats, Tide! Fun game; great win. Two huge special teams plays in the 4th is unbelievable. 4 nattys in 7 years is even more unbelievable. Enjoy the view from the top of the mountain!
  12. I like your spirit and I'm excited to see all these highly touted recruits fight the team across the field, too. I saw someone mention on Twitter that there were a lot of redshirts this past year, so while the new starters won't be experienced at least they won't be green. That said... man, I don't know why so many of these kids are declaring for the draft. Some are obvious like Bosa, Jones, and Elliott. Guys like Thomas, Bell, and Lee look ready but could have gone either way as far as I'm concerned (Thomas certainly looks like a polished NFL-ready receiver but we have to admit he under-performed expectations this year). But do Marshall and Apple really need to go? Seems like they easily could have waited another year. I wonder if Marshall was upset about not getting the ball enough in 2015. I give Powell a pass because all of his friends on the team are now gone. I also worry about Fickell rebuilding the LBs on a defense returning just a few starters. Thank goodness McMillan will be there to hold down the middle. Plenty to think about this offseason. Go Bucks.
  13. Thanks Tide for relegating MSU back to regional status in recruiting for a while. As a reward, you don't have to play the Buckeyes again (kidding)! Meanwhile, looks like TV ratings were way down this year for the playoff games. Nobody wanted to sit a watch a blowout as midnight approached. I'm not sure we'll see the New Years Eve format again for a while.
  14. Yup - ended the season on a high note. Probably good enough for another top-five finish. Hubbard and the other youngsters give us a lot to be excited about in 2016. I'm ready for the Bowling Green game to start - Sept 3 isn't too far off, is it? GO Bucks!
  15. Sparty nation can thank Jim Tressel for that cultural mentality. I think both those guys could do well at the pro level.
  16. Now EZE gets cited for driving with a suspended license.... This season has been painful outside one or two highlights. I'm ready for it to be over.
  17. Ohio State football. Both times my thoughts were with Buffalo -- like Don Beebe apparently!
  18. I'm hearing Schiano will replace Ash. Need to learn more about his ties to recruiting hotbeds.
  19. Washington is officially suspended for the Fiesta Bowl following a citation for soliciting. He didn't even offer to tip her! http://www.10tv.com/content/stories/2015/12/11/columbus-ohio-adolphus-washington-was-busted-after-online-sex-ad-by-undercover-cops.html Here is a list of the Buckeyes suspended for a game at various times this season: Joey Bosa JT Barrett Adolphus Washington Jalin Marshall Dontre Wilson Corey Smith Not a good look for Urban and the Buckeyes.
  20. Farve played in a game the day after his father died. He threw for 311 yards and four touchdowns in the first half.
  21. He should be allowed to take the mourning off to attend the funeral.
  22. I'm just not sure how MSU's D will deal with Henry getting 40 carries. The fact that EZE only got 12 carries makes it difficult to evaluate how Sparty will do against a top end rusher who keeps getting fed and fed and fed. On the other side of the ball, Sparty's backs run pretty hard themselves. Should be interesting.
  23. Dissing Archie (of all people!) after the B1G game didn't help.
  24. I'm actively trying to give it a couple years before allowing myself to get too upset about this stuff again. Championships are too rare to take for granted. I remember walking out of Sun Devil Stadium in 2003 after the Miami game thinking there were plenty more championships to come. I ran into an elderly woman in the stands taking in the moment with tears rolling down her face. She told me that after 1968 she and everyone else assumed the Bucks would win the following year and more after that. There she was 35 years later -- crying tears of joy and relief because she thought she might die before the Buckeyes reclaimed a championship. Meanwhile, as much as I like Dantonio and MSU's style of ball, I hope they get destroyed in the playoffs. Roll Tide this one time.
  25. I have a bad feeling about the Fiesta Bowl.
