  1. I believe Foster's health (shoulder injury) also caused him to slide. High mileage on that body.

Whatever caused Foster to drop was significant enough for many teams to pass on him. I don't know if it was solely character or if their might have been an injury concern as well. There were also some suggestions that he struggled learning the play book

These are valid points as well. The Foster thing was weird to me, he seemed like such an awesome prospect but then he slid so far that I thought for sure there was something seriously wrong with him that wasn't out to the general public yet but then the 49ers draft him and all we heard about once again was how awesome this guy is gonna be. I have a buddy who is a 49ers fan who is absolutely thrilled that they were able to grab him.

  2. I agree with the OP somewhat in the sense that I really thought we could have had the steal of the draft with Reuben Foster at 27, I know the kid had some off the field problems but I also saw a sincere love and passion for football from the kid and he looked so humbled when he was finally drafted by the Niners. I think he could turn out to be the second coming of Patrick Willis.

I do like the kid we drafted to play corner and I just hope that McD was dead set on taking him and wasn't afraid of taking a shot at Foster because of some "character concerns". It's too early to tell I just hope this isn't like the Marv Levy/Dick Jauron era all over again.

  3. That place is phenomenal

I've been there and was pleasantly surprised. In particular their Cajun dishes.

Chesters is great! Terrible beer selection/drink selection in general, but their cajun food is mighty fine! I've almost tried every dish they have and they are all on point! Good call!

Glad there's some fellow Chester's fans on this board

I'm a northtowns guy so I'm not out that way frequently but I will make it a must stop during golf season after we go out for 19th hole suds and grub

  4. Although not off the beaten path by any means since it's located on Transit but a restaurant that I think is awesome in WNY that I NEVER hear anybody else ever talk about is Chester's...a Cajun/New Orleans style restaurant which holds a unique place in the WNY restaurant scene.

  5. Yes

Heading downtown shortly to soak in the experience

Never been a huge UFC fan but It's another great thing for the city to get the opportunity to host one and I'm looking forward to a different sporting experience than what I'm normally accustomed to. I'm hearing rumors that alot of former and current Bills players will be attending tonight so that will be pretty cool

  6. My friend's wife was an ER XRay nurse on duty at the hospital when Thiesman came in ... pretty cool story for her to tell. She got to help read the film.

That and my friend got peed on by Jim Kelly in the high school locker room after football practice one day.

    Cool story, bro ...

Jimbo was such a Jock back in his day, that's what this team has been lacking under center these last 17 years a true alpha male

  7. Watching Two and a Half Men reruns. The show is so cheesey yet it has its hilarious moments at the same time. I dunno that's a show that I normally wouldn't admit to being a big fan of in my real life circle of friends and acquantices

  8. I see we have some Wrestling Fans on here and I know right now It's Wrestlemania season. I don't really watch anymore but I did just see the Scott Hall documentary and like to reminisce about the glory days of watching it growing up so figured this could be a fun topic:

    1) Wrestlemania 7

-My personal favorite was when Miss Elizabeth came to the rescue when Macho King Randy Savage was getting attacked by Queen Sherri. This was at a time when WWF was larger than life to me and the it just seemed so emotional

    2) WrestleMania 13

-Brett Hart v.s. Steve Austin in the classic double turn face/heel turn. The psychology from both guys in the lead up to this match was fantastic and the ending where Stone Cold Steve never says I quit but passes out in the sharpshooter with his head busted open is one of the best finishes in Wrestling history IMO.

    3) WrestleMania 12

-60 minute iron man match between Brett Hart and Shawn Michaels for the championship. Both guys bring their A game in the instant classic

Most Underrated WM match Brett Hart v.s. Rowdy Roddy Piper Intercontinental Championship Match at WM 8

If you are an old school Wrestling fan follow that link for an excellent in depth recap of the brilliance of that match and its lead up

You will never see professional Wrestling as good as this ever again sadly

  9. I'm not an avid follower like I was in my teens and twenties, but I do like the Deliverance vibe of the family that you take your screen name from.

Here's a pic from a few years ago of my girlfriend and I dressed as the Macho Man and Miss Elizabeth for Halloween. We won top prize at the party we were at.

    Oh, Yeahhhhh!
