Dude I would kill to be a fan of a team like the Colts or the Pittsburgh Steelers, sure over the recent years they have each only won it all once but every year there is reason to be excited and knowing that theres a chance your team can go all the way, not to mention all the exciting football games that come along with being a successful franchise.

I noticed alot of these qb's wait for the play to develop or "open up" instead of just checking down or forcing a bad throw to a covered receiver.

The difference between Ray Lewis and Donte Whitner's leadership is Ray is gonna back up all his talking on the field and play at such a high level that everybody else must elevate their game up a notch as well.

Baltimore's Defense is just NASTY, they are mean, aggressive, fly to the ball and hit hard. I can't believe how many studs they have Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, Ngata, Trevor Pryce, Terrell Suggs, if only their offense was alittle better they would be my Super Bowl pick this year.

I guess Dick Jauron was booked tonight

Freaks and Geeks was a good one

Its sad but true that alot of current players have this type of attitude

Our team personality/identity will be one that reflects the idea that getting our guys to Hawaii is what we are here for

Mike's life story is a sad one. When he says, "I'm really embarrassed with myself and my life," I feel for him.
I just changed my sig line to one of the best quotes of all time, from Mike, in his honor...
I know Mike Tyson is everybodies whopping boy and butt end of many jokes, but in all honestly if you ever took a look at his complete life story it is pretty tragic. He grew up in a terrible setting and believe it or not used to get beat up all the time for his lisp, never really had any real friends and then when he became a great fighter, everybody just used him and threw him to the curb. The only person that ever really cared for the guy was Cus D'amato and he passed away when Tyson was fairly young. To me, Mike is a completely different guy than a Terrell Owens or Pacman Jones. I know he gets clowned on all the time and I can obviously see why, but I actually just feel bad that dude to be honest. Also hate to say this but I can see his life ending tragically at some point(drug overdose, suicide)

I would take any of their offensive linemen...particularly Nick Mangold- hey, didn't they draft him? Drafting linemen, what a novel concept
We could've drafted Mangold but we just couldn't pass up the awesome talent that John McCargo was

Here's alittle christmas gift to all the old school fans out there
And one last one

I seriously get goosebumps at the way Singletary howls out "Listen Up" when he has the guys huddled up at the end

What, you mean two character players?!? NO!!! NO!!! We need people who jump up and down and act like idiots and thus intimidate the opponents!!!
Thanks for proving a point, Pride. Character and talent sure as hell CAN go hand-in-hand... you just need talented people at the top making the right decisions. People like the original poster shouldn't be complaining about too many "character" players, they should be complaining about too many marginal talents in leadership roles like Whitner, Posluszny, etc.
Good post, that was exactly the point I was trying to make.

We could use some Ronnie Lott and Mike Singletary's on this team

Contrary to what some believe, Marv was very animated on the sidelines but he also treated his players like men and not children which is one of his best assets. I never understood the Dick Jauron comparisons to Marv Levy from day one, Marv might not have been the strongest X's and O's guy but he had the perfect personality to be a football coach.

Willis McGahee, I remember being so excited at the time....man how things change very quickly

JP Losman would be a star player on my local high school team

HELL NO... the direction of the team since TD left? I feel like we've been stuck in one big cycle of mediocrity for about a decade now

I watched that whole game and that was the best football game I've seen in a long time, yeah that kinda goes with the territory of being a Bills fan. It is easy to root for that team, they have alot of good kids and their two big stars(Roosevelt and Starks are local boys) and how can you not like a coach such as Turner Gill. I would rather have him than Jauron coaching the Bills thats for sure. I really needed to see a game like that, where the players take pride in what they are doing and not just worrying about where they can blow their paycheck.

The only significant difference between Buffalo and Detroit is that Detroit has a hockey team that consistently wins championships

I remember the Packers were just steamrolling their way right into the NFC championship game and they didn't practice outside the week leading into the championship game and the Giants did and you could just tell GB didn't have a feel for that type of environment at all meanwhile the Giants looked pretty comfortable. Hell even in high school my coach made us practice outside at the end of the season and told us a story of how one year my school killed a team in the playoffs something like 42-0 and after the game was over my coach found out from the other coach that they had been practicing inside all week, his response was Why would you prepare in those conditions for the game, its not going to be played in the gym.

Yeah as much as I love football, I didn't even bother watching any of the games today.
Did Kelly Retire too soon?

Instead of sticking around for a couple years longer, I wish he would've joined the Bills the year after he was drafted instead of wasting two years in the CFL. Sometimes I wonder if that would've made any impact, maybe getting the Bills kicked into gear a year earlier than their run started and if maybe it would've had enough of an impact where we actually could've won a Super Bowl.
