Buffalo just needs a new convention center period.  That thing is so outdated and with its Renaissance, it is badly needed and I bet one is coming.

There was an article in the Buffalo News sometime within the past year talking about how outdated and undersized the Buffalo Convention Center is now and how Buffalo keeps losing out on events because it cannot accommodate alot of modern conventions

I’m not hung up on or living in the past, but it’s a real thing. It all needs the proper balance. I’m not for closing the HOF because I’m looking forward to NEXT season. The names on the Wall belong there, but we still have next season to play. Next season is my priority, and then the one after that. But reasonable people can reconcile that with our history. I guess it’s all personal preference.

History is important no doubt and believe me I absolutely loved the 90's Bills era but I think the point is that because the Bills have been completely irrelevant after the Super Bowl runs that for the last 25 years Bills fans have beaten the memories to death and it is time to start making some new ones!

Big market. I was watching highlights from the glory days recently and was taken aback by the winning vibe those teams gave off compared to the Bills of the last 20 years. It would do the Bills Mafia good to reconnect with those teams since they have never seen winning of that magnitude since they became fans.

That's all Bills Mafia does is reconnect with those teams

Time passes on and the nostalgia for the good old SB days becomes less meaningful because a large segment of that population involved in that exciting era has passed on to another pasture. Those who have not passed have become very weathered and are less likely to attend such nostalgic festivities. The reality is that more than a generation has passed since that successful era and thus there is a smaller population of gray beards attached to  those players associated with that very memorable period.

I'm less interested in looking back and more focused on watching the building of a franchise that creates its own successes and memories. A generation of fans have withered because the team was so irrelevant for so long. It's better not to look back and focus more on the future and reconnect with this younger and lost generation of fans. For me the Polian era was exciting and enjoyable. However, I have little interest in looking back. I'm now very hopeful and excited about the present and the not too distant future.

:( Your are 100% correct there and that one hits right in the feels

"The only top world title that Vader never won was the WWE's top prize, and he was in fact scheduled to win that title in 1996 before Shawn Michaels put a stop to it. The plan was for Vader to defeat Michaels for the title at Survivor Series '96 at Madison Square Garden and go on to lose it back to HBK at the 1997 Royal Rumble in San Antonio, Shawn's hometown. Instead, Michaels decided he didn't want to work the program with Vader and the spot was given to Psycho Sid. Vader worked against Michaels at SummerSlam that year instead, a very good match (complete with a vintage Michaels' tempter tantrum) that showed the pair could have (and should have) had more great matches down the line."

I actually do kinda remember hearing about that before now, Michaels was an unbelievable talent and performer but like in most industries was not a good person behind the scenes back in his heyday.  Seems like he has turned his life around now.

I’m trying to call you out, but what does this mean? Is it the old stereotype that Buffalo is some rust belt, blue collar town? McCoy was the opposite of this and he has done just fine.  Guess what fits well in Buffalo: good players.

Your reaching on this one buddy.  I also love McCoy and he is one of the most popular Bills players.  Horrible Harry has the spirit of a Buffalonian though...no frills, a guy that is gonna work his tail off and has the passion for the game not just here to collect a paycheck and live the NFL lifestyle that some guys only care about.  I guess you could slap the blue collar tag on him as well as it would be appropriate although that's not necessarily where I was going with this.  Basically his personality will play well with our fanbase.  I have no idea why you are so confused by that statement.

By the end of his time in Buffalo he was possibly the only guy on the team with any heart. I’ll remember him running down that guy who made  an interception in his last year or two in Buffalo more than any other play. Everyone else was standing around.

I remember that game.  After the game he said that he learned you don't give up until the play is over from Bruce and Thurman and Andre etc. and talked about what it meant to put on a Bills jersey.  He played with those guys in his rookie year and for the longest time was the last true link to the glory years and I always associated him with that.  There was another time(Miami snow game 2002?) where he talked about how in the Winter time in Buffalo you don't wear sleeves, its about mental toughness and once again credited learning that from Andre, Bruce etc.

  8. It was the opposite for me.  Grew up in WNY so obviously the Bills were the big thing in town but my Dad wasn't a diehard fan, more casual, too caught up with work back then to really care etc.  I got my fandom from my Uncle and Grandpa.  Over time my Dad became much more into the Bills because of my interest in them and nowadays he is a much bigger fan than when I was growing up.

    Just my 2 cents...

Football fix?  Summer just started in WNY.  Who cares about football at this point, and I'm certainly not wishing summer away in order to get my fix, knowing how short summer is to begin with.

    This!

I love football and all and also follow the NBA and NHL, but I actually enjoy this time of the year to be honest. It's refreshing to not always be tied up with following sports.  I try to soak in summer as much as I can and I guess I get my sports fix in from playing golf during the summer.  But from a watching perspective, I enjoy having this time to watch movies and other tv shows, listen to music, do stuff outdoors etc...I never find myself bored during this time of the year and welcome the break from watching sports.

If you told me five years ago the Bills were making it before the Sabres, I would have laughed in your face. Hopefully Dahlin can turn things around. Last season was the first season since I moved away that I didn't buy the Center Ice package.

It's crazy I don't think anybody realized how low the Sabres were going to sink when the Pegula's took over, but I'm optimistic for the future.  We might still be pretty bad next year but we do have some young talent to build around in Eichel, Dahlin, Middelstadt for the long haul.
