So I am here in Jax with a housefull of Jag fans,wings sith Anchor bar souceand a big cigar. What a win! The newspaper headlines will be up on my office wall for a year. Go Bills! I think we have our QB. Lets keep getting better, sign our free agents and have a big offseason.

I am a Bills fan who lives in Jax. It is well known around the country that the Bills have great fans. That fact will save the team. The Bills should focus on getting a good team, a few open seats will remind them they can not take fan support for granted. Jax is a new team in a town that has huge college football following to compete with(Gators and FSU). 3 huge college games played here each year is a factor as well(Gator Bowl,ACC Championship and FLA/GA). Jax will be ok as well. You guys should focus on making some good points in stead of unimaginative slamming(it is boring)

ok,so JP needs to learn to stay in the pocket,read defenses and run the offense. Big deal. In the meantime we are taking away any chance he has to be successful in the game and earn his teamates love. He is having no fun, making no plays and not using his physical abilities that made him a high pick. I see no energy and competitiveness as a result. Lightenup and let him play(what happened to we expect mistakes but some signs of greatness)? He will learn the game over time(if he is capable and we improve around him) and part of his game will be running if he will be anything special.. T he coaches are making the team boring, are wrecking JP and are on their way to getting fired(you would think DJ would worry about that. LET HIM PLAY!

1) Bills are close to a playoff caliber team. We have not been good in years, are bad this year,have very few top 25% players ,will loose at least 2 decent starters (NC and Fletcher) 2) We will hit big in Free Agency. Not many will be available, everybody has money and Buffalo is not a top destination. We need to focus on 1 or 2 good second tier FA and aggressively get them right away. WE need more draft picks (trade down and we should have traded NC if we are not going to keep him). We better extend the decent players we have way in advance(WM,LE). Have you noticed the handful of extensions around the league in the last 2 weeks? Finally focus on running and stopping the run

NEXT OFFSEASON the Bills will go after at least 3 defensive starters :middle linebacker, tackle ,cornerback and depth at linebacker. On offense 2 starters: both on the line and depth at running back(a quick change of pace guy) and maybe a #3 young QB.( We will stick with JP and CN). Draft:1-Line backer,2-Oline,3 runningback,4-linebacker,6-QB,7-wr. The other o lineman , the d tackle and the corner will be FA. The big money FA will be on the Defense. This will bring us close to playoff caliber D and special teams. If JP improves we are 1 year and a playmaker away on offense( maybe a tight end or WR). If not then we go FA at QB. So, 8 and 8 in 2007 and 10 and 6 in 2008. This year 5 and 11.

Time for dreamers to bag this year and dream about next year. Play JP 75% but get Nall some meaningful time. Play Everret,I thought he is sopposed to have big play capability. Play the young corner and the young lineman. Figure out how we are going to get 6 new starters!

I live in Jax, Fla for many years after growing up in Buffalo. Still follow Bills very closely and stay away from the Jags . Family still in Buffalo and my dad and I have the weekly this is agony chat. Friends say I should bag the Bills and get Jags tickets. I never considred it but this is getting old. What would you do?

WE are ok here. I bet we will add 2 guys through FA or first 2 rounds in the front 7of the D. Our run and pass rush needs more players if we want to be a top team rather than ok/middle of the pack. We need to build on this years improvements not argue about were we are now.

Good time to talk about Bills progress on the 3 year effort to become a contender(beyond just competitive). Coaches/Levy bring class, smarts and good chemistry. Defense secondary may be close but NC will probably go and he is solid but nothing special. Linebackers are hurt,free agent,older and no depth. D line young but no dominators. WE are at least 4good players away and that assumes the young guys develop. O line is ok at each position but not great at any. RG is open.no depth and no power up the middle. Skill posions are solid but we need a fast, shifty running back. WM is agood power back if we can omprove the line but he is not a big play back like Taylor in Jax. JP is still a question mark but I think he will become solid and maybe good. With all of our needs we need to stick with him in 2007. I figure at least 3 guys here. So, we need at least 4 good,notok, free agents plus a good draft. We have the money and a popular HC. WE need to win 7/8 games so we can recruit.

why do the great players lift and spend time with their team during the offseason?

Willis says he did not lift diring offseason. Backs like Barber power lift. Would that help him be tougher and maybe try to pass block. Seems like that is an effort thing. Not a great back unless you block and make people miss.

They need to let JP roll out and run when the play is not there. Were is the small but at least quick/penetrating D line

Lots of questions and gueses on the state of the Bills roster. My sense is a promising young secondary that will be good in 2 years with Nc the big question. Need 2 or 3 players in the front 7 on D. Good special teams. Improving O line but 2 away from good. Playoff caliber O skill players especially if the 32young guys from the U come on. Huge question on whether JP has the smarts/leadership. The next 10 weeks or so will answer alot of questions for us. Should be fun to watch. I think we will be fast,high energy but not too good. Young guys making mistakes,adjusting to each other and weak lines getting .ground down not to mention average QB. Lets hope most of our young guys are good ,we extend most of our young guys and have a strong offseason. It would be nice to have the season more interesting than the offseason. OH, then we have the issue of ownership after RW.

here I go again! The more I read the more optimistic I become. I do think we are headed in the right direction,however, the facts suggest 6 to 8 wins at best. New coaches,unproven QB, weak linesetc. Besides, I want to compete for the Bowl not slide into the middle of the pack. Lets stick to a 2 year plan. Play the best of the young guys including QB, keep or trade Nate ,and be super aggressive next offseason especially on D. Be haapy with a hard playing high energy team. WE are at least 6 really good players away assuming we keep our young guys and we have a QB on the roster.

If you were the Bills owner what would you focus on to position the team for success over the next 3 years or so? I would start transitioning to a new owner and a new GM. Bring in a guy to work with Levy for a couple of years. If Levy can help rebuild the Bills over 3 offseasons and turn the keys to a quality Gm that would be a good contribution to our club. The new owner needs to get a better revenue sharing deal next time and be more aggressive in making money and keeping young talent on the team. Speaking of young talent ,if we are going to keep Clements lets trade him for a 1 right now. We are not a top tier team anyway so we need to focus on 2-3 years out. Next year is a big offseason for us. Lots of car room and a young roster to add to. Cant loose a great young player and get 0 in return

I am a glass half full fan and think the Bills got a good start on rebuilding. Lets hope they play h ard and smart and that our young guys show potential and improve. With a strong offseason next year we should be close to a playoff team. However,there are several obvious NFL obstacles: lousy record last year,bottom of pack in both offense and defense,unproven QB,new coaches/systems, release of several veterans,lots of player turnover and lots of youth. Realisticaaly if we win 8 and improve as the year goes on we will be satisfied. Then we need to turn it on big time inFA because we will be out of patience. If our QB situation looks good we can finish the defense with more pass rush and get O line and a game breker running back

Our reaction to the draft is directly related to our hopefull/uniformed daydream draft. You guys (like me) have probably read about the draft since January and have developed a Bills fantasy outcome. It was either a great pick or two shockingly fall to the Bills or we trade down several times picking up 2 or 3 extra picks and fill all kinds of needs. All of that dreaming without knowing who will be a good pro anyway and forgetting every teams fans have the same hopes(not to mention other teams want the same players we do). Well our dreams did not come true, in fact the outcome seems worse than our worse case scenario(a boring draft that followed all the prdictions). This should remind us it will take a couple of years to go from bad to good and maybe foreever to be a SuperBowl contender. It should also remind us that we do not yethave confidance in our front office/ownership/coach. Lets finish the draft, sign or trade NC and get a young front office leader to work with ML for 1 or 2 years before taking over. We also need the rich guy to buy the bills. Look for a young team to play hard, win 6 or 7 games and improve in 2007. The daydreaming is just about over.
