  1. I keep seeing DONG in the subject line and I thought the Bills had signed another offensive lineman. kj
  2. Adequate QB play--adequate, mind you, not great--and we are winning.
  3. I would like to see him on our special teams again.
  4. The Bills aren't going to the Super Bowl at the end of the 2010 season. <ducks> Re-allocate the playing time to a youngster and let him develop. Re-allocate the money to some other part of the organization. (Save the skepticism on that last part.) The Bills aren't going to the Super Bowl at the end of the 2011 season. Because I don't think there will be one due to an owners' lockout. Given those two (IMO reasonable) assumptions, the decision to part ways esp. after all that offseason drama makes sense to me. kj
  5. So you're guessing, huh?
  6. My favorite play occurs at the 3:20 mark of this video: youtube video kj
  7. Reading this post leaves me with this thought: I wish I understood the sport I love. How messed up is that? kj
  8. But when you are replacing Britney Spears ...
  9. And then look up the statistics on life expectancy of NFL players, and particularly their incidence of brain trauma. The players risk a lot more than the owners do. Adding: which isn't necessarily to say they aren't overpaid. Viewed as a players v. owners situation, I tend to favor the players. But I also think the NFL is built on an unsustainable business model relying on taxpayer subsidized stadiums. Without tax dollars in all but a handful of markets, the whole mechanism should be ratcheted down quite a bit.
  10. What he said. Plus, the risks borne by the owners--they have to work very hard to not make money, given the TV contracts (which makes Art Modell really look stupid)--are minimal while players are literally risking life and limb. For non-guaranteed contracts.
  11. I know you specified 'player' in the opening post, but really any list of headcases affiliated with the Bills ought to include the fans. Who here hasn't considered therapy after a Super Bowl loss, or watching Travis Henry intercepted on a halfback option from the Dolphins' 13 yard line, or Eddie Robinson breaking an ankle trying to keep up with Chad Pennington, or Dick Jauron face the press after a game, or the Cowboys come back on Monday night, or the Bills hold the Browns to 23 yards passing and lose. Oh, man. I'm depressed.
  12. Click 'options' which is to the right and just below the red "add reply" and "new topic" buttons. Below 'display modes' are your 3 options. Sounds like you want outline mode. kj
  13. This is a great thread, even though the O.P. mis-spelled "Patri*ts." Ahem. Bad. I hate them because they have owned us for so long. I hate them because they cheated for much of that time. I hate them because they didn't need to cheat to own us for many of those games. I hate them because of the media's refusal to hold them to a reasonable standard. There is no legitimate reason that every sportswriter and -caster outside of the Patri*ts' version of Chris Brown shouldn't refer to those teams as cheaters: "The Patri*ts, whose Super Bowl wins will always be under a cloud of suspicion, announced the signing of another free agent today. No word yet on when the league will suspend the player for testing positive for performance-enhancing drugs." I hate them because they refuse to hold themselves to a reasonable standard. Where is the apology to the league and to the fans? And I just hate them because I hate them, because that's what sports is for those who don't play: irrational and emotionally charged opinions about people you will be unlikely to ever meet. It's what we do, just as sure as the Patri*ts cheat.
  14. This may help: SI column on the vote
  15. 'Cuz Belicheck's Patri*ts cheat.
  16. I like Byrd as a player and human being, too. But what prompted me to reply was this line in the report by erstwhile TBDer Graham: to Graham to the football writers who missed this one kj
  17. I just got a popup ad while on the tbd home page, a safecount.net invite to take a survey that crawled from left to right across my screen. I saved a screenshot but don't know where to upload it to share. This is for the management's info only, as they may be interested, and not a complaint. I understand the need to generate revenue through ads. kj
  18. If Maybin was on pot, that would explain a lot about last season.
  19. The Punt Catcher. But not Losman. Hobert goes up b/c he admitted not studying the playbook. But Losman always tried hard. He just didn't have enough brainpower.
  20. Not to go too far afield or nitpick overmuch, but wasn't that a Marv-ism? Or is my memory that bad?
  21. Man, think what ESPN could do with that draft. kj
  22. I'm sure the Bears wish they hadn't wasted the 4th overall pick in 1975 on some running back out of Jackson St. who piled up big numbers against lesser college teams. kj
  23. No, but she played one on TV. And Cowherd's mom dropped him on his head when he was a baby as she reached for the phone to answer a call from a john.
  24. None of the scouting reports mention whether they are cut blockers or not... kj
