  1. i like the intent of this line, but the delivery takes a lot out of the punch. saying he's never sniffed anything but a jock strap is a comment about what he's sniffed -- not what he's played. it is neither sufficient or necessary to imply he's not an athlete (i.e. sniffing other things than a jock strap doesn't make one an athlete, and having sniffed a jock doesn't mean the guy isn't an athlete). I suggest a line more like "the closest he has ever been to football is sniffing a jock strap" or "never got closer to starting any football game than sniffing a jock strap".
  2. i'd agree except for the fact that pennington out played him.
  3. the cover 2 is designed to force bad 3rd downs and be good at stopping the 3rd down, as well as stopping big plays (helping both). the corner stats in the cover two will tend to be favorable (barber is just old and overated, like his brother always was). i think we will keep mcgee, we extended him once and will likely do so again. our mccoverage will be beastly if we get a bit more of a rush up front.
  4. could a woman really be mayor? hahaha
  5. besides your mouth's desire to service a fat borderline retard of a turnstile at LT, do you actually have anything to contribute to this? I called Peter's low motivation and inconsistent play over a year ago, and just like when i called JP sucking the bag. plenty of nut scrubbers like yourself tried to get glory taking me on, but just ended up at the glory hole. enjoy your sausage.
  6. peters is the dave boston of tackles. sick talent but no heart and no head -- couple good years and then will fade away at a huge salary. the peter's nut huggers bother me tho -- they are such chubby chasing oline fetishists that they actually think a fat lazy left tackle is more important than a top flight WR and 2 very good Oline (what peters costs). these pudgy kids still don't actually make the plays and need to be consistent and nasty, not gifted athletes with motivational problems. fkc peters and GO BILLS
  7. which i honestly think is why we got our three new interior linemen -- screen passes are better than check downs and stop the pass rush. if we pass just half of those times as screens, we will get some big yards 1

  9. exactly. they gave up nothign to the first stringers who were amped up and wanted blood. they didn't play that well overall, but they did OK. zona's line never played more than OK for 3 quarters in a game last year and they moved the ball pretty well. one thing i did like was the screen plays we ran. those will be key against 34 Ds. lynch is only gonna miss one game against a 34 D (and NE at that :<) so between him and evans over the top TO all over i think our passing stats will be up a bunch, not in small part due to our more mobile and smarter line.
  10. tenn has unchained beasts on their line and their DC has a rep as a cheap dirty bastard. it did seem like they were up in the grill all night and it is a good thing to have our young guns beat up on a bit. we want them in a hightened state of mind when we go into NE week 1
  11. if he played the whole game, how many catches would TO have had? 15? i think we might be getting a little ahead of ourselves here.
  12. you WANT your young guys to go in with a vanilla plan and get pushed around as much as possible. i'd like to see a better performance of course, but our young raw line let up no sacks with vanilla play calling (which is a ten strength) and we had the one bad block by the rook. zero sacks is very very good. i'm not worried yet, but we need harris at LB and maybin to come in IMO that will give us a whole lot more speed and nastyness.
  13. i think it's a matter of time before he and poz are our hunter killer missile tandem.
  14. yes it was a bad pass, but evans is in no way a go anywhere guy. he's faded on plenty of slants in his career and his huge fall off in production from year to year shows it.
  15. bad pass but evans could have done a bit more for the ball, he's not a go over the middle guy, is he?
  16. only preseason yada yada yada, but poz really looks like the guy he was his jr year in penn state. very instinctive, just a beast.
  17. smart, strong, mobile, hostile, and motivated. that's the new cutting edge nfl line, not the over paid peters types -- you want 5 guys as a unit (and particularly 3 in the middle who are machines), not some super star idiot and some softies.
  18. this year i'd say NO, that should be a fun game
  19. peters went undrafted in spite of playing at a big SEC program. everyone knew his talents but no one drafted him, why? because he' a lazy punk who's as dumb as a rock. he's going to get dinged up and suck for philly sooner or later. bank on it.
  20. the point that always stood out to me about maybin is that he is insanely quick off the snap -- guys compared him to kearse as a rookie. yes he is undersized and will be weak against the run, but that's understood. if he gets off the ball and works hard, he can be that last little extra pass rush we need to make our entire d better. he's also very aggressive and doesn't quit on plays -- combined with a healthy schoble that's our shot at having a scary d this year.
  21. i laughed at that too!!! i didn't know a guy could post w peter's peter in his mouth.
  22. we need more power plays on D (sacks, fumbles, interceptions), and more TDs on O (which means the passing game, although the running game is a growing strength and will help). now trent needs to step up in a big way, and our young oline needs to be stout, and our new DE and FS have to make a positive contribution. all that said, trent is older and wiser, our "talent" on the o line played poorly last year, and we are adding a rookie with huge speed in the pass rush and aaron schoble should be back and healthy, adding a ton to our pass rush. on O (where we really need the improvement, and where we get the most results for each unit of improvement) hardy, jackson, and trent are all a bit older and better, and we add TO to compliment evans. IMO that is what is going to make our O good, our special teams will still be great, and our D will be good as well. that's plenty to get us to the play offs. now we just have to do it.
  23. the point about coaches being great based on their players (and maily QB) is a fact. coaches are important, but their game day contributions are way over rated. having good players and having them prepared trumps game day things that get blown out of proportion, and we as fans don't really see how well prepared and motivated the team is over the course of the week. if we make the playoffs this year, i say keep dick, if we don't i am all for canning him. that result will come down to more than just his contribution, but that's the way it works.
  24. the issue i had w our old line is the same line that did well and at times great in 07 sucked in 08. that's because even tho we had some physically talented guys, we had lazy idiots all over the place. nyg, green bay of old, ne, and carolina are all teams that go for hard working nasty smart guys and have success. dallas blo, philly, and the jests try (or tried in our case) to have physical studs at oline and have both up and down years because of it. i much prefer to have cheaper tough smart guys on the line than expensive wonder kids on the O line. they are super important as a group, but they don't make the plays, they just help them happen. you want your physical freaks where they can make the biggest individual impact -- with the ball or rushing the passer/taking the ball away.
  25. i'm mixed on eli. he has great tools and at times is just awesome, but is horribly inconsistent. now, he plays in the ultra aggressive gilbride system, and that same system has made iffy linemen and ok running backs top rated Ds in 4 different cities (including b lo!) -- so that's is part of it. w the giants O, while they are up and down and all over the place, they always seem to have a shot in each game. they are capable (due to the option routes, risk taking, open play, and running constantly out of passing formations) of scoring at any time. the way to look at it is -- what are you gonna do if you are the giants? let him walk? of course he is gonna get bank.
