  1. Strictly statistically speaking (say that 5 times fast!), if we were going to lose one more game on the way to the playoffs, then the Atlanta game was the one to do so. If the Bills can get to 8-8, it really isn't that far-fetched to get in. It's the getting to 8-8 part that's kinda far fetched...

With that said, was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!

  2. I don't agree.

I love the defense and Bills DC Pettine! However, I am starting to really dislike this new Bills OC.

The offense continues to drag this team down by trying to force rookie QB's to win the game. Yesterday was a perfect example of this.

    The Chiefs won with 3 FG's on offense!!Chiefs QB 12 of 29 for 124 yards 0 TD's ,0 INT's.

How does the offense drag anything down when it racked up 470 yards? A rookie QB made a bad, predetermined throw and TJ Graham fumbled at the most inopportune time and place. Those two plays turned the game around.

    Alex Smith was 19 of 29 for 124 0/0 BTW. :)

  3. We're witnessing the growing pains of a young and talented team that is fighting its way through obstacle upon obstacle, and that includes the HC and OC. Does anyone not believe that if EJ runs out of bounds in Cleveland rather than taking that shot to the knee, the Bills are probably at least 5-4 right now? What they've had to deal with at the QB position, combined with other key injuries, is nothing short of disastrous, and yet there they were, yesterday, pushing an 8-0 team all over the field.

There are lots of things that can be improved, there's no doubt, but I think this is the start of something pretty special. The worm will turn. If not during the 2nd half of this season, then in 2014 for certain.

Those of you bitching about who should be cut, or complaining that Marrone is a horrible HC and Hackett is an awful OC, really need to step back and take a look at how the team is playing, and compare it to what you see around the rest of the league.

If you disagree with my perspective that's fine, but to me it's so clear to see the difference on the field now as compared to the past decade+. The loss hurt yesterday, but I'm enjoying the hell out of watching this team.

Eball for Prez -2014! Nice post. The board is so much more enjoyable to read the day after a loss.

This is nonsense. You can only speculate how many hours they put in and how stress full their job is to other professions.

Is a prosecutor that works night and day, having to carry a gun around all the time because they are getting death threats not as stress full as speaking to media? There are a lot of factors involved in "stress".

I'm pretty sure NoSaint was only talking about NFL Head Coaches. I dont think an argument can be made that they dont spend too much of themselves at work. But, this does nothing to belittle the stresses a prosecutor endures. In the end, the job is their choice. They know what it involves, and they know the personal risks involved. Praying for Coach Kubiak.

I'd prefer we recognize that as much as we want this kid to be at least a backup caliber QB, he doesn't have the tools to be in this league. We put him on the PS and move on to the next person.

Today's performance was the Tuel ceiling. As ugly as that was. Cleveland game was the floor. Any game he plays expect something somewhere in the middle.

Maybe with these stellar scouting abilities, you could work for the Bills? He has played 90 minutes of pro football but you feel comfortable making such concrete, "factual" statements about what he can/cant do. I am really impressed.

Come on, man. He's an undrafted rookie making his first start in the league. Do I want him as our 1st string QB? Of course not. He is what we have. He made a horrible mistake, and made several errant throws. But, lets be realistic with our expectations of him in the here and now.

  6. Another reject qb. We gotta love our bills!!!

Even when they think they dont suck, they still suck. They suck they suck they suck. All day long all they do is suck and suck and suck. Then when they get tired of sucking, they begin to suck even more. That's how much the bills suck. They love to suck. Ralph sucks all day and night.

This just in: Matt Flynn is the THIRD string QB. Ever heard of Valium?

  7. Agree, 100%. The hit wasn't dirty. Even the dude yelling @ Kiko wasn't a big deal. I'm sure they were looking to get their licks on EJ, as any team would on any QB, retaliation or not. BUT, the fact remains that they celebrated over EJ as he's on the ground. Seriously, after a QB legs out a 3rd & 8 for a first down, who celebrates a tackle? Totally classless.

I was waiting for a player to come out with this befor I said anything, but there were a couple other plays that warranted taunting penalties that weren't called. Like when Graham got smashed and dude (#71) stood directly over him, looking down at him and waiving his arms? Really? Everyone has gotten called for that up until last night.

Celebrating over an injured player isn't taunting, but tossing the ball to a player on the other team is. Get it straight guys.

  8. Good points. Another thought would be changing from no-huddle 100% of the time, to huddling at times periodically throughout the game.

Also, when is Hackett going to try getting Easley and Hogan involved more? So far, Graham has been relatively invisible on the field.

This. The no-huddle is certainly a viable weapon, but it needs to be used smartly. It shouldn't be a blanket philosophy that we run 100% of the time, regardless of the game circumstances. As has been said ad nauseum on the board, when we can't sustain drives the no-huddle does not achieve its intended goal of wearing down the D. Let the offense huddle, get their bearings, and sustain some drives. Rely on the D seize the momentum with big plays, stops, and turnovers. Then, hit em with the fast paced no-huddle.

  9. 99% of the time? No. Cops are people too. We aren't perfect. I know of some who fall way below the perfection Mendoza line. My point is that there are ways of proving your innocence without making court a sham by using tricks, gimmicks, and confusion. I guess I am ranting against that side of our broken system - not you personally.

  10. It is a sham if the judge is just going to side w/the state because they are the state. Is that what you are trying to say sig?

No, I'm saying its a sham because of the sleazeball attorneys and the tricks they play to take advantage of legal loopholes. Traffic court, or even criminal court, is not about finding out the truth. It's about who can pull the most tricks out of their sleeve to manipulate the system. But, hey, in the end of your story you are happy. The cop is happy (cuz he made about 125 bucks in OT pay), and the judge obviously didnt give a d@mn. Win / win / win, I suppose right? The only losers are the law abiding citizens who have to put up with repeat offenders cuz they know how to manipulate the system. Not saying you are one, because in your story you were an innocent victim of a cop who couldn't work a RADAR unit - of which I have yet to personally meet. A moderately trained monkey can work those things and be right 99% of the time.

  11. No. He shot the wrong car (opposite direction, moderate traffic... I was doing the speed limit) and I proved that in court. I was the easiest one to catch because I had to make a left before the border.

Human nature... Pick the easiest target.

You have a right to face your accuser and cross examine them. It wasn't irrelevant to ask those questions. I was building a case that he his memory was not credible. He couldn't answer if I had a passenger in my car... How does he know he was going the speed limit and who he got? He couldn't even remember the color of my car... Why is that irrelevant?

Building a case on his memory? All he has to do is remember which car it was he clocked speeding 30 seconds before and write all the info down on the ticket. I presume he wrote the color of your car on the ticket. So, you are actually building your case on whether the officer can read? You are aware that the officer can look at the ticket, his notes, and whatever reports he generated in relation to the incident right? Contrary to what you said earlier, that is not hearsay. Hearsay would be Officer A testifying to what Officer B told him (and would probably still be allowed as a fellow officer exception to the hearsay objection). What does a passenger have to do with whether or not you were speeding? Exactly - nothing. Its irrelevant, and I am highly skeptical that the judge bought it. But, its your story so you tell it.

  12.

That dog don't hunt... That is exactly what the system wants you to think.

Who won? Me. Many places you can't get continuances... I mentioned to try an get one. Read the ticket, many places forbid it. But try if it doesn't state anything about them... Put the case so far outta of the cop's mind as possible and work it into your leisure time.

No. Not at all. I am on shift work. I am almost always home from 9-5, M-F. I was off work anyway. Not getting scammed in a sham of a court (traffic court) for 200 bucks is important to me. 200 bucks is almost a whole day's wages for this working slob. I live 10 minutes away from the courthouse and I was in there all of an hour.

I do agree, people gotta weigh the "price" of doing "business" in court. For me, that is very cheap (mentioned above)! I will always show up.

We all have a right to face our accuser! And to quote Marv Levy: Look the "over-officious jerk" in the eye!

Sounds to me like you got busted fair and square (and know it), but decided to MAKE a sham out of the court process with sleight of hand and irrelevant questions to try to confuse the witness and judge. Those tactics are usually reserved of low-life, sleaze-ball attorneys. So, congrats on "winning". I usually find that the tact of not speeding seems to keep me out of court, though.
