  1. It is outrageous.

I had the honor to lead 165 soldiers into combat in Iraq. At least one of the soldiers serving with me was Muslim. He was a courageous, honorable warrior originally from Kuwait. Patriotic Americans and good human beings like him should not be demeaned by racist remarks.

This is what pisses me off about Kap. I'm not honoring racists cops when I stand for the anthem. I'm standing for the guys I served with which includes Christians, Muslims, Jews, blacks, whites, Hispanics, Asians, etc. To me, Kap's refusing to honor these guys.

The crappy, imaginative journalism disappoints but doesn't surprise me. I had a guy from the NYT interview my soldiers during the war and then present a canned, incendiary quote, asking, "Anyone willing to have this quote attributed to them?" One naive 19 year old PFC volunteered and became famous, much to the chagrin of my chain of command.

So would Klemko invent a quote to add spice to an article? I don't know Klemko at all but I do know journalists sometimes make stuff up to make articles more compelling. It sounds like this young lady has good reasons to be pissed and I'm glad she's speaking out to defend herself (and all Buffalo).

First, thank you for your service.

Second, when did the term "Muslim" become an epithet? What is outrageous about calling Kaepernick a Muslim? Is it outrageous to identify Tebow as a Christian?

Can I see the stupidity in it? Certainly. Is it outrageous? Hardly.

  2. I think regular citizens are more likely to get shot going to work than cops are. Until the tragedies of a couple months back, cops have been relatively safe for the last decade or so.

Would you mind coming to Florida and speaking to my chain of command? They make me wear a ballistic vest that isn't very comfortable. Maybe if they heard your perspective on the relative safety of my profession I wouldn't be forced to wear it. Thanks!

  3. Rams defense was never in question, their offense is not very good only time they put on a good preformance was against a Bucs defense that may be the worst in the league.

I think the Rams have in recent years done surprisingly well against the Seahawks which explains that, they beat a bad Bucs team and it looks like the Cardinals aren't as good as everyone thought. You can't really tell how good either the Bills (Who beat the same Cards team, lost a close game against a decent Baltimore team, got blownout against the Jets, and beat the Pats* away sans Brady and Jimmy G.)

This Rams game is a game the Bills win if they are a playoff team. It will be a slobber knocker away which won't be easy. The Rams have a stellar defense which won't be easy to play against and their offense has a very good running back but the offense of the Rams isn't very good. Turnovers and one or two big plays will likely decide the fate of the game.

The Jets blew us out? By 6?

  4. I've liked what I've seen in Z Brown, but we need to be weary of tackle stats. I'm glad it is our LB rather than a DB, but high tackle counts usually mean your D is on the field too long and that's been the case through three games.

    ^^ ding ding ding!

You get a lot of tackles when you have a lot of plays run against you. We are seeing signs of progress, but let's not kid ourselves in to thinking that this D is a top unit, at this point.

  5. Like I said, I'm pretty sure you're a white guy so you're speaking from a place of ignorance at best.

And I'm pretty sure that your aren't a cop, and you don't have an understanding of how police officers are trained to respond to resistance. It goes without saying that you probably haven't been in a physical confrontation with a criminal who doesn't want to go back to jail. Which would make your position full of....oh, I dunno...ignorance?

  6. There's losses, then there's ****ty losses. This is the former.

Agreed. I'm encouraged by defensive progress, discouraged by the penalties, and the unimaginative play calling. Things that can be fixed. It's one game. Decent chance the entire division is sitting at 0-1 with us.

Then why come here? You obviously knew what to expect after that chit show today.

    Bored?

  7. Perhaps your friend ( or you) haven't been paying attention. One of the founders of BLM was on CNN and asked about the Dallas police chiefs call for recruits. Her reply was that they wouldn't take that job because the system is already set. They want to take over policing their own neighborhoods. When asked about the lack of outcry from BLM about any of the murders in Chicago ( much of which is black on black violence) she avoided answering the question. So apprently black lives only matter when they are shot by police officers , regardless of the officers race. That shows you where they are coming from. The reason we can't get " there " with BLM is that their premise is racist and wrong . ( and yes there were video clips on various news outlets showing folks at BLM rallies making statement about " killing pigs".) BLM is standing up not only for those involved in police shootings that were simply horrible mistakes, but for the highly publicized ones that absolutely had some responsibility for their involvement. i.e not doing what the officer ordered them too etc. They don't seem to understand that the Police officer absolutely has a right to use deadly physical force under the color of law and will be indemnified if a reasonable person would feel that their life or lives of others were in danger. That doesn't mean the suspect has to aim a gun at them or even have it in their hand. Simply reaching for something or a sudden move is enough. They are different from a private citizen would be in that situation. It has to be that way: they need some advantage over the criminals or many many more cops would die in the line of duty. But a knucklehead like Kaepernik says these people are getting a free pass and paid leave like its a vacation. Shooting someone is traumatizing for most people including cops. It's the thugs on the street that will shoot and go on about their business. Kaepernick should familiarize himself with the law before he disrespects the country in the name of criminals and thugs.

    ^^this x1000.

This guy gets it. Colin, on the other hand, is clueless.

  8. I laughed my ass off listening to that woman tell the white people where to be. The seriousness of her quarterbacking was pretty damned funny. If only she had the presence of mind to realize that having white folks integrated into her cause would actually help it.

If the cause was a righteous one, then yes it would. But, if the cause is, in fact, much less righteous and rooted in more divisiveness then it wouldn't.

  9. Remember that great "cookout " story between BLM members and Police in Kansas a few pages back.................yeah well....

HILARIOUS: #BlackLivesMatterBlackHistoryMonth.png Sharply Denounces Friendly Cookout With Local Cops

    http://dailycaller.com/2016/07/22/black-lives-matter-denounces-friendly-cookout-with-local-cops/

A Washington, D.C. chapter of the Black Lives Matter movement said on Twitter that a community event held in Wichita, Kansas with the Wichita Police Department which brought police and citizens together to cook, eat, dance, and talk was not in line with [their] principles.

Their goal is to "dismantle the system"? Why is this group even at the table with such an outrageous endgame?
