  1. How is it a horrible argument? Players are now well aware of the risks, and they volunteer to play the game. It certainly doesn't absolve the NFL from responsibility in covering up the issue in the past, nor in continuing to take steps to try to make the game safer, but it is a 100 percent voluntary choice by the players.

  2. I see nothing wrong with what the OP posted. Dude was just trying to keep people informed. He posted a few minutes later that he was back out jogging, albeit gingerly, but posted none the less. What was the problem, seems as though it was pretty accurate. Initially stated that it was his foot/ankle and after all was said and done, that was the case.

The problem is that he couldn't wait a few minutes to get the full story, in his rush to be the first one to post. Then, he acts like a 15 year old Internet troll in his subsequent posts.

  3. Funny how when the government takes control of "harmless" weed dealing...taxing, regulating, etc...that the dealers and cartels that were in the business of weed dealing just don't go out of business. They move on to some other nefarious criminal enterprise. ..usually the dealing of "harmful" drugs such as heroin, cocaine, and meth. They have to fill in the income gap. One of the many unintended consequences that weren't thought through in the rush for legalization.

  4. Thanks.

Yep...no doubt...but the availability of oxy/perc/vicodin was the problem. I'm pretty sure those weren't even from doc's, weren't a lot of those smuggled in? They were expensive and heroin was a lot cheaper!

With the crackdown on pill mills and the like, making it harder to get the scripts for prescription opioids, addicts have returned to heroin and heroin laced wth fentynyls. Much easier to get equals much cheaper.

If we legalize it, can't we tax it and regulate it? Put the cartels and drug dealers out of business?

Well then try to convince us why we are wrong. I'm open for a good debate. Right now I see your opposition based mainly in your negative opinion of what MJ is and the people who use it. Am I wrong here?

I'm opposed to people getting high "because they can" and then effing up innocent people's lives. Eff up your own life, I don't care. I get tired of seeing the poor decisions of others destroy innocent people.

Strengthen DUI laws, streamline testing procedures. ..you will have me on board. None of that is being advocated for by legalization proponents. They just want to get high, and damn everything else. It's a very a irresponsible perspective. Hiding behind medical mj just exacerbates the issue, to me.

  6. C'mon Sig. That's the same lame argument they use against gay marriage.

Marijuana is not at the level of coke or meth or other more dangerous drugs. The only reason it's even on Schedule I is because of Nixon targeted pot smoking college kids when they were protesting the Vietnam War.

So, we just keep redrawing the line under the guise of medicine and tax dollars? I have no issue with true medical mj. But, that needs to be taken in a medicinal form with medicinal strains. The fact that the recreational movement needs to conceal their true motives behind the legitimacy of medical mj is extremely bothersome to me.

  7. What is the BFD if people want to get a little buzz after work? Why is that bad but pounding some martinis is fine?

There is so much misinformation and plain wrong thinking around weed. Legalization isn't going to open the flood gates of new pot smokers. Millions of people already smoke. And the billions they spend could be part of the legal economy.

Then call it what it is. It's not an attempt to legalize mj for medicine. It's an attempt to legalize it for recreation.

BTW, the BFD is people that just wanna get high often do so at the expense of others. Why not just legalize cocaine, while we are at it? Opium? MDMA? All come from natural sources. What's the BFD?
