1. in case u forgot our 1-3 start...that WAS what jp can do...

    490905

So 4 games is an adequate amount of time to give an NFL rookie QB to show he deserves to start? On a mediocre team with a suspect offensive line at that?

    Wow...

  2. JP's NOT the answer either, sorry !!!!

    490796

We haven't given JP enough time to know if he's the answer or not. But we can say for sure Holcomb isn't.

That last throw on 4th down alone is enough to sit his punk-ass the rest of the season.

Lets see what JP can do.

  3. so now opposing teams only need to have the ball for 18 minutes to beat us!wow i mean if you have the ball 39 mutes to someones 18 you would think you are killing somebody wtf?

    490746

We are the Buffalo Bills. We find a way to pull defeat from the jaws of victory.

    Nuff said.

  4. Dearest Management, Ownership, Coaching and players of the Buffalo Bills:

    !@#$ you.

!@#$ you finding a way to lose when you should win.

!@#$ you sitting on your asses on Super Bowl Sunday while we the fans watch someone else play and win.

!@#$ you and your sh------- 21st century clown uniforms.

!@#$ you because I could have found better ways to waste 3 hours of my life tonight.

!@#$ you because we're basically the Detroit Lions anymore and no one outside of Buffalo can even remember when we used to be a good team.

Would it be too cliche to say ditto?

I can taste the vomit in the back of my throat. i want to cry

  5. On 4th and 7 you through a two yard out you are not an NFL QB.  There is a reason KH has never been a starting QB in this league.  Bring in the kid and let him get his exprience cause we aren't winning anything with this guy under center.  Say what you want but you know I'm right.

    490735

Amen. I am so pissed right now I don't know what to do. KH could've thrown it ANYWHERE else but there. Hell, it was 4th down, if anything, throw it into double coverage but at least let it be past the first down marker!!! That was straight bull sh--. I don't give a fuke how many yards he passed for tonight, that was pure ass.

Be back, I gotta go puke

  6. Man it seems pretty much everyone on here is in unison..We are definitely in a love-hate relationship with our Bills. We love em when they're winnin, we hate em when they're stinkin up the joint. Lately, they haven't really done much for us to keep the love juices flowin...

As true Bills fans, all we can do is keep watchin, hoping for better days ahead. Like the vast majority of you, I think the Bills will probably get their arses handed to them tonight. But I'll be sittin in front of the tube hopin for otherwise...

I don't think so, but I'll ask this anyway....Have we reached a point yet, that if we do win tonight, would that be considered a miracle?

  7. Here in Pittsburgh, I also only get to see one or two Bills games on regular TV during the year. I go to a sports bar called Buffalo Blues to watch the games, where there are a few other Bills fans to enjoy the game with...

HOWEVER...i'll be enjoying this game from the comfort of my own home, for once. My good buddy just bought a new 60 inch HDTV, and invited me over to watch it at his house, but he's a Cowboys fan, and I don't have it in me to sit there and look at his smug face if the Pats are beatin the hell out of the Bills...

So, I'll be whippin up a batch of my famous wings,(would make LaNova's proud) and sittin on the couch hopin the Bills do what noone expects them to do...

    WIN

  8. Which is usually defined as the same probability of a Brazilian bikini model showing up on my doorstep tonight.

    487421

    Heavenly Father,

If you happen to grant KD's wish, please also let a Brazilian bikini model show up on MY doorstep as well...

    Amen

  9. The reason I smacked you down was that the original comparison was a choice between:

    1) 20-25 for 125 yrds, 1 TD and 0 INT's

    and

    2) 15-30 for 300, 3 TD's and 2 INT's

When I stated my preference for #1, you responded by completely misrepresenting my position as not wanting 300 yards passing *ceteris paribis.*    And so I figured if you were going to play dirty, I'll play dirty back - but that's water under the bridge at this point.  I'll give you a serious response this time.

I think that the reason we rely upon short passes is for a number of reasons is:

    1) our offensive line cannot be relied upon to sustain protection long enough for deep routes to develop.

    2) long passes generally produce either quick strike scores, INT's, or put you into 3rd-and-longs - which is highly correlated with punting.  The result of all of these is to put our defense back on the field for longer stretches of time, which right now is the Achilles Heel of this team.

    3) we are trying to establish a ball control, smash mouth, offensive identity

The second option above proposes doing two things different philosophilcally: calling 20% more passes per game, and calling proportionally deeper routes on those passes.    In any situation, but particularly given the Bills' current personnel, this will surely result in more sacks.  Additionally, the above numbers suggest dropping our completion percentage from a League-best 70% to a paltry 50%.  This would surely result in a lot more punts, and long stretches of our sieve-like defense on the field.  And finally, the second choice above produces two additional turnovers - and the correlation of turnovers to losing hardly needs mentioning.

We are all in agreement that the Bills are a mediocre to below-average team.  I believe that Mularkey, Clements, & Co., however, have basically installed an the best offensive game plan for maximizing the results from the talent they have been dealt.  Ideally, they want to run the ball a lot (hopefully for more than 3 yards per carry from the best back in the League) and use short passes to manage third downs, sustain drives, and run out the clock.  Its not that we don't call *any* deep passes - we clearly do call 2-3 deep passes per game, which is enough to keep defenses honest.  Unfortunately, the number of times deep passes have been called looks worse than it is because our offense has generally not executed the deep passes that have been called - either due to drops, sacks, or misthrown balls.

Anyhow, I think that explains why I view option #1 above as being far superior to option #2 in trying to win ball games.

    JDG

    487396

I actually agree with every point that you just made. I wasn't playing dirty by any means, the only point I was trying to make is that I think we, as Bills fans, would love to see a day where our QB airs it out and we pass for 300 yards. In all honesty, I'd take 15-20, 150 yards passing, 1TD and 0INTs and a WIN over 300 yards, 3 tds and a loss anyday, that's a no-brainer.

I was simply stating that I long for the days of the 200+ yard passing games, let alone the 300.

Thanks for re-stating your point. You are a gentleman and a scholar...

  10. I think that completing 50% of our passes, boosting our sack totals, and increasing our number of turnovers would put us further away from winning - and I think that most smart NFL observers would agree.

This is the NFL, not a fantasy football league.

    JDG

    487362

I'm not even in a fantasy league this year. But who's to necessarily say that passing for a 300 yard game would boost our sack total? Like I stated, I think it would be rather encouraging to see one of our QBs pass for 300 yards, and yes, I do consider myself to be smart NFL observer, regardless of what you think.

At least defenses would see that we do have something that remotely resembles a passing game.

I am a relatively new poster on here, but I won't let somebody on here try and belittle my knowledge of the game of football. You can agree to disagree, but don't be dick about it.

  11. If the Bills beat the Patriots I will quit smoking....  I need to anyways so could you please let the Bills win and I will hold up on my end of the bargain...

This could be fun.  Say a prayer with me and make a deal with the almighty....

    487352

    Heavenly Father,

Please grant all of us Bills fans here a victory Sunday night. We know that the chances of this happenin are probably a f-fillion to one, but you are the Almighty.

Also, in the event you can't get us a victory, at least make all IndyJay's cancer sticks taste like Retatta...I'm sure he'll quit easily after just one...

    Amen

  12. Maybe its what *you've* fallen tooo....

Personally, I think that those numbers would put us even further away from winning than we are...

    Holcomb isn't the problem.

    JDG

    487345

I highly doubt I'm the only one on this board who would be encouraged at the sight of a 300 yard passing game.

What makes you think that one of our QBs passing for a 300 yard game would put us even further away from winning than we are, when defenses KNOW that we can't throw the ball downfield???

  13. Joe Theisman does indeed wear Tom Brady underoos. I have a feeling he will blow a load in them when Teddy takes the field.

Gee, who do you think they will wire up for the game?.....Ugh.

    487069

I'm getting sick to my stomach already....I feel like I was just force-fed a tremendous bowl of Rettata...

  14. ...give him some reps to think about during the bye week. Get him some live action.

    487197

I say start JP......for the rest of the damn season.

Seems like almost everyone on this board seems to be so hell-bent on protecting the kid from the beatdown the Patriots are gonna give him. Protecting him from getting embarrassed in the national spotlight.

What gives people? This kid, wet behind the ears or not, is a !@#$in NFL quarterback! I say, this is EXACTLY the kind of game he needs to get acclimated to! Throw his ass to the wolves, and lets see how he performs.

I was one of the first people in agreement with benching Losman after the New Orleans game. After watching the last three games, this team has been revealed for exactly what it is, a mediocre(at best) team. While his numbers were downright awful, I think we all can say now that those three losses could hardly be pinned on him. Hell one could arguably say he wasn't to blame very much at all!

This kid is our future, whether we like it or not, and TD gave up way too much to even think about another option at QB. JP could throw 25 ints the rest of the year, and he'll still lining it up under center in 06. LET HIM LEARN, AND FOR GODS SAKES, GIVE HIM MORE THAN JUST 4 FRIGGIN GAMES TO SHOW US THAT HE'S GOT IT OR NOT!

Carson Palmer, Eli Manning both stunk up the joints last year, and the Bengals and Giants took their lumps and stuck with them, through good and bad. Why can't we be so patient? How long has it been since the Bengals made the playoffs? We gave this kid 4 games and !@#$in betrayed him, me included.

After seeing all the weaknesses and holes we have on this team, I for one am ready to give him the entire rest of the season to see what he can do. We all have to admit, even though he stunk it up on more than one occasion, he displayed flashes of the great things he possesses that we brought him here for: a cannon for an arm, mobility, ability to elude a pass rush, etc...

Put him in Sunday night. For keeps...

    GO BILLS!

  15. Lombardi said it best "when you get to the endzone, act like you've been there before"......

Dancing and showing off seems to be a trait of all selfish football players if you look at it.  I'm sure there are a few exceptions to the rule....but generally speaking, guys that dance around and show off seem to be ME players.

    487311

I KNOW you're not implying that Terrell Owens is a ME player!! That man is a selfless, team-first player and cares nothing more than the good of his team..

  16. I say they should stop all the dancing and showing off when they do something ordinary on the field like make a tackle or score......this is a 3-4 team going down the drain fast and they need to earn the right to celebrate.

They growl and talk smack to the opposing players and think how good they are but then they lose the game and get trampled by the other teams running back...since when did LaMont Jordan become an all-pro?  This team sure made him one last week.

    <_<

    487298

The Bills may play stupid ball sometimes, but I think they know it would be downright MORONIC to talk smack this week, going into Foxboro, for a night game, against the well-rested Pats. If last weeks blowout hasn't humbled them, nothing will.

  17. Pass that schitt, man!!

While I admire your optimism, since 2002 I have never felt worse going into a game than this one.

The Bills have absolutely no chance to win on Sunday in Foxboro.

That sentence was very difficult to type, as I have not felt that way since the 3-13 year of 01, and at least we were in an acknowledged rebuilding stage.  Now, I think TD & Co. are simply delusional in thinking this team has any chance at all.

The problems on this team run deep and will take years to correct.  Its a damn shame that we are entering a second rebuilding phase under TD, after having not been built the first time.

    486492

I couldn't agree more dude. In all my years as a Bills fan, i can't remember the last time I felt we were going to get our asses handed to us. I feel that way today.

To look at it from an optimists perspective...

Maybe it won't be a blowout until the 3rd quarter..
