  1. I'm at Pitt alum, and I couldn't watch the game without getting nausea. To be honest I really thought Wannstedt could bring credibility to our football program. He was outcoached from kickoff to the final whistle. I am thoroughly pissed.

Your home opener, and you stink up the joint like that, in a game where home field advantage is by far the most advantageous of all the other sports...

    I miss Walt Harris.

  2. I agree--nothing to be gained by increasing playing time...but but I'm not too worried. I think what MM means is playing a series into the third, which JP has done a few times. My guess is if we see any semblance of a running game, the offensive starters will be out at half. And I doubt the defensive starters go into the second quarter.

By the way, smuvtalker, what part of Pittsburgh do you live in? I just moved to Pittsburgh (fox chapel area) about two weeks ago.

I live right in downtown Pittsburgh. I wanted to be as close to work as possible. I am able to walk to work in the mornings, but because I live towards the top of a friggin hill, I catch the shuttle back in the evenings.

I plan on watching all or most of the games this year at Damon's. I hear there's a Bills Backers group that watches all Bills games at the Damon's on McKnight Road...I may give it a shot..

  3. Okay guys, this is my first official "real" post, so I hope its worthy..

In regard to Mike Mularkey's decision to play the starters longer than most teams do, especially in the last preseason game...I just don't agree with it.

I know he's saying he wants the offense to get into a rhythm, and wants JP and the starters to gel just a bit more, but I think it's a foolish decision. I really don't think that another half of play is enough to convince everyone that all of a sudden the offense has gelled, and that all is well. The bottom line is that with a "rookie" QB, we are going to have some bumps and bruises along the way, and that the timing thing will only come in, well, time.

I think Mularkey should do like the great majority of the other coaches, and play the starters a series, maybe two, and sit them down.

I'm a glass half-full person, an eternal optimist if you will, but I just am scared to death of us sustaining an injury to a key player the week before the opener. And do you realize how the media will absolutely tear Mularkey down if something like that happens?

    Go Bills

  4. I've got to go with LaNova's guys. They are absolutely tremendous....

My mom is a huge fan of Anchor Bar...but growing up that was all they really had...i would have to say hands down LaNovas are just about as close to perfect a wing as there is. You can actually order them online and have them fed-exed to you overnight. I would not recommend doing that though, because they are not the same as when you get them at the restaurant. I was thoroughly disappointed when I got them. They don't look OR taste remotely close...

    Go LaNovas!!!

  5. Let me just say how extremely impressed I am at this Bills message board! I have only been on here for a few weeks, but boy have I not only been entertained by some of the funniest commentary in ages, but it's also obvious that my fellow bills fans are very knowledgeable and well-informed!

I just finished reading that retatta thread, and nearly p-issed my pants laughing so hard, and then when i saw Thailog80's avatar, i think i ruptured a kidney! I haven't laughed that hard in forever!

I am proud to be a Bills fan and hope to contribute to this board with some insightful and funny commentary as well.

    GO BILLS!!!

  6. In order to be the BEST they need to not fall apart when faced with 3rd string offenses like Pittsburgh's "rest and keep out guys healthy" team last year.  The defense was TERRIBLE that game.  Eliminating bone headed plays/penalties (unnecesary roughness penalties, Clements interference showboating) is possible if they keep their heads on.  And the Bills need to be better on bend-don't-break or Jerry Gray needs to do his best  Bill Yoast immitation and just forget bending at all:

"I don't want them to gain another YARD, you blitz all night! They cross the line of scrimmage I swear to God I'm going to take every one of you out. You make sure they remember FOREVER, the night they played the Bills."

Dude you just sent chills down my spine and brought a tear to my eye all at the same time....dammit man....

  7. SHOW HIM THE MONEY!!!!! YEAAHHH BABY YEAH!!

I'm probably one of the few who thinks the Eagles should renegotiate his contract. Performance speaks...

who cares if he's eccentric, borderline skitzo....the man can flat out play and he's one of the best...
