  1. it's our kicker. Heading into tomorrows game I'm struck with the fact that many beleive this will be a defensive battle. A defensive battle means that field goals are a big factor in the outcome. Oh brother.  :D

Oh well, maybe one of our kick returners will score.

    Let's get it on already!

Lindell to me is definitely more of a liability than an asset. He has yet to prove himself. All the talk of him being 24 of 28 last year, which "was one of the higher percentages in the league", makes me want to puke. Hell I think I could be 24 of 28 if every kick was 18 yards...

Lets hope with this change of snapper that Lindell will finally live up to TD bringing him in here...let's hope...

  2. Ahh, the Chicken A-La-King. I used to always try to get the MRE's that had the cheese spread. I served in the US Army from 91-99, so the one's that were big during my tenure were:

    Chicken A-La-King

    Chicken w/Rice

    Pork w/rice in BBQ sauce

    spaghetti w/meat sauce

    Beef Stew

Every so often you'd catch one with a bag of M&M's in them...

  3. I'm at Pitt alum, and I couldn't watch the game without getting nausea. To be honest I really thought Wannstedt could bring credibility to our football program. He was outcoached from kickoff to the final whistle. I am thoroughly pissed.

Your home opener, and you stink up the joint like that, in a game where home field advantage is by far the most advantageous of all the other sports...

    I miss Walt Harris.

  4. I agree--nothing to be gained by increasing playing time...but but I'm not too worried. I think what MM means is playing a series into the third, which JP has done a few times. My guess is if we see any semblance of a running game, the offensive starters will be out at half. And I doubt the defensive starters go into the second quarter.

By the way, smuvtalker, what part of Pittsburgh do you live in? I just moved to Pittsburgh (fox chapel area) about two weeks ago.

I live right in downtown Pittsburgh. I wanted to be as close to work as possible. I am able to walk to work in the mornings, but because I live towards the top of a friggin hill, I catch the shuttle back in the evenings.

I plan on watching all or most of the games this year at Damon's. I hear there's a Bills Backers group that watches all Bills games at the Damon's on McKnight Road...I may give it a shot..

  5. Okay guys, this is my first official "real" post, so I hope its worthy..

In regard to Mike Mularkey's decision to play the starters longer than most teams do, especially in the last preseason game...I just don't agree with it.

I know he's saying he wants the offense to get into a rhythm, and wants JP and the starters to gel just a bit more, but I think it's a foolish decision. I really don't think that another half of play is enough to convince everyone that all of a sudden the offense has gelled, and that all is well. The bottom line is that with a "rookie" QB, we are going to have some bumps and bruises along the way, and that the timing thing will only come in, well, time.

I think Mularkey should do like the great majority of the other coaches, and play the starters a series, maybe two, and sit them down.

I'm a glass half-full person, an eternal optimist if you will, but I just am scared to death of us sustaining an injury to a key player the week before the opener. And do you realize how the media will absolutely tear Mularkey down if something like that happens?

    Go Bills

  6. I've got to go with LaNova's guys. They are absolutely tremendous....

My mom is a huge fan of Anchor Bar...but growing up that was all they really had...i would have to say hands down LaNovas are just about as close to perfect a wing as there is. You can actually order them online and have them fed-exed to you overnight. I would not recommend doing that though, because they are not the same as when you get them at the restaurant. I was thoroughly disappointed when I got them. They don't look OR taste remotely close...

    Go LaNovas!!!
