  1. I also think that they've done a good job of showing us how tough Robocop is to the point where even drugs won't make him talk. That was set up to show us that the grieving Tony -- who blames RoboCop for what he did to Michelle -- will get some measure of revenge in MAKING him talk. That could also provide us with some dramatic moment when Tony realizes that he was "inadevertantly" invlolved by spilling the beans to the wrong person that Jack was still alive.

Actually, I think they're going to make Robocop look that much tougher by having him escape from CTU after being tortured. If Nina (trained by Jack, I think) and Jack (trained by Robocop) can break out of holding, Robocop damn well better break out too.

  2. that is the same formula for this show every year.

each season the guys that you think are running the terror project, are gone by episode 5....then you meet the next higher level....and they are gone by episode 12....and then you meet the next level....and they are gone by episode 20...and that sets the stage for the leader of the terror movement by episode 20 and a 4 hour show down with Jack Bauer.

I think Robocop will stick around for a while. There's way too much that they can do with his Jack's mentor character. Killing him off or getting rid of him before the end of the season would be a waste.

  3. what i found funny was that CTU were going down left and right but the second the big guy is in the contamination zone everyone is saying "oh my god".

My thoughts exactly. At least three other people ran up to the door and they just yelled at them to find a way out of the building, no emotion at all. Edgar runs up and suddenly they're all shocked and sad.

  4. Robocop keeps saying that Jack doesn't want to hear what he knows. That leads me to believe that this whole terrorist plot goes way deeper than they've shown so far. The Russians may have intended to use the gas on Moscow, but someone higher up who's orchestrating the whole thing wanted them to use it in the US. We're only 11 hours in, there is still a lot to be revealed in this season.

  5. I've been telling myself that I'm going to buy some new sticks one of these decades (truth be told I kind of enjoy beating my buddies and their fancy new clubs with my 20 year old rust-spotted mix'n'match specials;-).

What is a "fitting", who does it, what does it entail, where do you have it done, etc?

Any respectable pro/pro shop should offer fittings. It can be done in a few different ways. Some people will just measure your height, arm length, and other things like that. A good place will do that and also have you hit a few clubs. They want to make sure the clubs are the right length, have the right shafts, and other more technical things. It may not sound like much, but it can make a whole world of difference.

  6. I just don't see why they didn't just outright kill Keeler last season if he wasn't going to play a role in the future.

It probably left room for people to speculate about him showing up at the end of the day to clean up Logan's mess.

  7. Also, there's probably a zero in ten chance they'll ever explain how Palmer knew anything about the terrorists that day and why he hid the info in his memiors.

Wayne Palmer will be back at some point and that will help explain how his brother knew about the attack.

  8. Oh, and Novotny can go back to Rochester now.  He's nowhere near ready for prime time.

His weaknesses were very obvious during yesterday's game. It made me realize how much of a difference maker Tim Connolly has been this year.

  9. He's just on the roster to keep things polite. He is certainly no Larry Playfair. Don't worry, Lindy knows exactly what he has, he's not going to get a regular shift unless plague, pestilence, and insanity take over the team.

He's also not going to be on this team anymore if we ever have a completely healthy roster.

  10. I disagree.  It was clean at the top but he dragged his back leg and that's why Jay Smith went after him.  It wasn't overtly dirty but it wasn't clean either.

Kasperpunkass' hit was clean - and unnecessary.  I've been wondering how long it was going to take for someone to do that to Connelly because he's been gaining the zone at speed very effectively alot lately and it was only a matter of time before someone gave him something to think about.  He's been lucky to avoid it because for the most part he's been doing it in the middle of the ice where he's tougher to line up.

I missed the Edmonton game, so I can't comment on that. As for Kasparitis, he stuck out his back leg when he was going for the hit. He didn't make any contact with it, but I think this paints a good picture of his intentions.

  11. The fact that they are still complaining about the hit makes me wonder if they saw something that we didn't. The one thing I did notice while watching the replays last night was that he stuck out his back leg so he could trip up Connolly if he missed with the hip. Was the hit lower because of the way he stuck out his leg? I don't know.

  12. Well, a snappy reply to the snotty young thing would be "I see your point. I think that students should pay full freight for their own education and not try to get loans subsidized by old taxpayers". :)

My heart goes out to the poor schmuck that marries that little darling...

I wouldn't say she's young, probably at least 10 years older than me, but yes, I feel sorry for anyone that does marry her.
