  1. Back-to-back WRs that early just doesnt make sense from a value stand point. Taking another WR in the 2nd means you are spending a high pick on a guy who will be, at best, your 5th option on Offense behind: 1st Round WR Diggs Kincaid Running the Ball If a guy falls, like Jermaine Burton to the 5th, and they want to double dip then - great. But passing up a Safety who might play every Defensive snap, or even a DT who will play half of them in rotation, for a guy who probably wouldnt see the field on most Offensive snaps is just roster mismanagement.
  2. Outside of 1 (mayyybe 2) WR, I expect this draft to be completely Defense. We'll need 2 Safeties, 2 DEs, and 2DTs, at least 1 CB, and we've certainly shown we can never have too much LB depth. There's no other open spots on Offense anyways, even at depth positions. For all the crap I give McD, he definitely showed he has evolved in this already. As evidenced by all the action Kincaid saw, and well, this:
  3. Yes. Definitely good enough to not waste a high pick trying to replace a player who was a key part of our strongest unit. And a late pick aint gonna beat him out.
  4. I'd be surprised if we draft any OL. We have our entire starting line returning. As well as all our depth from this year. We might decide to release Morse and promote Bates, or vice versa, and need a backup interior OL. But those are easy to find in FA (cheap compared to DL) and we have Broeker coming back. We definitely need DTs, so I expect at least 1 DE and 1 DT drafted. Maybe even 2.
  5. Sucks to go out that way, but at least they got 2 Lombardis before they passed.
  6. Not really. There are plenty of levers for Beane to pull and cap magic to work. We can get to $20M, $40M, maybe even $60M under the cap if we really needed to.
  7. There were definitely drugs involved. Almost seems like the homeowner passed out on fentanyl/opioids, and left his friends outside. And if they were on similar drugs, they may not have even felt how cold it was until it was too late.
  8. It's slim pickins, for sure. A couple of us did some digging in a previous thread. Best outside candidate I can come up with is maybe Klint Kubiak.
  9. Interesting he has current fan-favorite Troy Franklin going right after our pick to the KC Chiefs. (@HappyDays) If that played out, I cant imagine the number of Mitchel vs Franklin comparison threads we'd have here throughout their careers. I also wont be surprised to watch KC leapfrog us to #25 and get the WR we both wanted...
  10. We better not be tipping our hats to Babich as he leaves the building to head to New Jersey! GIT R DUN!
  11. Agreed 100% Additionally, has any player ever said anything groundbreaking/shocking/revealing in any of these pressers across the history of sports? Isnt it all the same copy&paste sound bites to feed the league's marketing arm of "Sports Journalism" and give the reporters a quote to pad their article? So many of our players DID speak with the press after the game. Does anyone care? Are we talking about any of it besides Josh here? Anyone really care what Sherfield or Dawkins or Rousseau had to say after the loss?
  12. And THIS is why I dont care that Diggs skipped talking to the press. Damned if they do, damned if they dont. (not trying to call you out specifically, @Buffalo Boy, it just fit)
  13. Here's one for you too https://www.webmd.com/mental-health/post-traumatic-stress-disorder
  14. In the 2021 AFC Championship, the Bengals got 4 sacks and 2 INTs. Same when Tampa beat them in the SB. 3 sacks, 2 INTs. That's how you beat them. It is possible. It has been done. (Yes, it is very difficult)
  15. As they should if he is still there and we can reach him. Kincaid is a very reliable pass catcher. No one is 100%. Even Larry Fitzgerald had plenty of years where his catch % was in the low 60s and even 50s. But I'd agree that Kincaid is the only one. Shakir has been pretty reliable too tho.
  16. He'd be a shoe-in for the Panthers job. Could probably land the Chargers job if they werent already focused on Harbaugh. I could even see Atlanta and Washington being interested since those teams are similar to the drought era Bills that McD took on in 2017.
  17. I think one of the main reasons Washington is listed as asst HC is to prop him up and get him out there so we can get those 3rd round picks.
  18. We only made 6 picks last year, and he got 2 potential stars and what looks like a decent pick in Dorian Williams. We have 9 picks going into this draft, so no reason to think we can't hit on 1 more player.
  19. If we let this kid walk and McD runs it back as "DC" next year, I'll be finding a better use for my time on Sundays. Inherited Milano and Edmunds, but developed Dodson and Bernard into playing well above expectations. Spector and Williams look to be coming along nicely too.
  20. There's some great, in-depth WR talk in here (around pages 6-9), if anyone is looking for more info on some of these guys and links to videos.
  21. For anyone upset about Diggs not speaking to the media: What are you looking for him to say? And can't you already predict the exact player-speak and platitudes he'd say anyways? Why is it so important for Diggs, or any player, to say anything after that game? "We missed some opportunities. We'd love to have those plays back. We were happy with how we moved the ball and then fell short. Will be tough to deal with this in the offseason, but we'll use it as fuel and come back stronger next year." Blahblahblah... There ya go. Absolutely worthless filler. Same as all the other postgame interviews. Pretend I have cornrows and now you'll feel better. Oh my god, you Sensitive Sallys need to build a bridge and get over it already. You have no idea what he was saying and in what context. We've seen plenty of times that JOSH, Diggs, and others get heated/pumped in order to pump up the rest of the team. Josh was in a bad lull that game and needed to snap out of it. Josh has gotten over it. So should you.
  22. Realistically, I expect McD to move back to HC, promote Washington or Babich to DC, and probably hire Brady as OC. And Smiley stays on ST and gets a chance with a HC helping out. That is, imo, minimal changes on a staff that needs change but wont change much.
  23. Anyone feel a way about another postseason played in vain just to end up with the 28th pick instead of a shot at the talent available at 17 or 18? I'll be keeping an eye on the Bengals at 18 to see who they pick to replace Higgins, and essentially steal away from us.
  24. Haha, made ya look it up! But he is in his 20s and would be in his 20s when re-signed in FA. Mostly just joking, but I do think it adds to my value argument. With the amount of openings on the DL, we can bring him back in cheap AND still get younger via the other free agents and draft picks. I'm assuming we'll draft at least 1 DE and 1 DT.
