  1. I mean, I dont necessarily disagree with your point but WRs have been like this for a long time. Andre Reed was a known malcontent and chirper. Keyshawn Johnson was a thing. Randy Moss was Randy Moss. Isaac Bruce was well known for his sideline blowups in St Louis in the late 90s. Larry Fitzgerald was more an aberration. But even with Fitz, watching Kurt Warners' "A Football Life", Warner had to light a fire under Fitzgerald just to get him to practice hard or train in the offseason which he thought he was too good for early in his career. I expect our next #1 WR to have a similar attitude. So should Josh.
  2. I never said Diggs wasnt a problem. But Diggs' problems have been more with coaching both times. Zimmer and McD are very similar in many ways. Separately, there is another discussion and point about how Josh's feelings and how he handles diva WRs which is what this thread is discussing.
  3. Another good comparison is Keenan Allen who is similar in age and price, and only netted a 4th round pick.
  4. Sure, but Diggs is no different than plenty of other high profile WRs. He's actually more the "typical" WR. So if Josh can't handle Diggs chirping, that's a Josh problem. Because if/when the Bills replace Diggs with other competitive, high profile WRs it's only a matter of time until they start the same behavior. If we somehow landed MHJ, we're right back where we started.
  5. It's especially interesting to look back at that interview now because when talking about Bills receivers, Josh listed everyone but Diggs. And at the time folks just figured "well, obviously Diggs is our #1 and a great WR so no need to hype him", but now it looks like Josh was aware the Bills were working on trading Diggs and he wouldnt be in the picture.
  6. Yeah, the idea of trading next years 1st with this years 1st and 2nd to move up makes a lot of sense now.
  7. The draft is before June 1. Thats why.
  8. Haha, I have a plan. Not sure about Beane until we get more info tho.
  9. But teams can go outside of that formula. It literally happened when Texans traded Osweiler to Cleveland just to get his guaranteed money off their books.
  10. How does Greg know all the financial details when they havent come out yet?
  11. Im sure that's Beane's plan
  12. Here is an article from when the Texans traded Osweiler to Cleveland for nothing other than cap space, and Cleveland took on his guaranteed/dead cap money. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/18865517/houston-texans-trade-brock-osweiler-2018-second-round-pick-cleveland-browns
  13. "By the book", yes. But Houston can take on whatever they want, and even send us straight up cash.
  14. That's the "by the book" breakdown. Houston can take on any amount they want, and even trade us cash for a player. We'll have to see how this shakes out.
  15. Houston can absolutely agree to take on any/all of the remaining amount.
  16. Says who? Link to the financials?
  17. Whatever makes up his big cap hit and dead money. Houston can take that on if they want.
  18. We'll have to see how all the numbers shake out in the long run. Texans could absolutely take on his bonus and most of his cap if they so choose. Most of the time teams dont, but it does happen. It's more a voluntary, sweeten the deal thing.
  19. I'm now on board with drafting TWO wrs back to back!
  20. They've done it before. Like with Brock Osweiler.
  21. Cant the Texans take on a bunch of that cap? Probably why we're sending so many picks with him just for a 2025 2nd.
  22. First thing I thought of when I read the article and it mentioned the house is in his grandmas name. ☹️
