    Teams remaining:

    LA Rams

    Tampa Bay

Baltimore (I can't take Baltimore, as I had them in 1.0)

    Carolina*

    Cleveland*

@Virgil - my apologies. I had the Texans in the first draft. Can I swap out with the Panthers?

I can keep the Texans in addition if necessary.

  2. With the 86th pick, the Houston Texans select Marshawn Kneeland, Edge, Western Michigan

The Texans continue the fortification of their defense and like Marshawn’s athleticism and ability to push the pocket. While he possesses the physical traits, the coaching staff will work to refine his game and feel he can contribute and compete.

@JJGauna and the Dallas Cowboys are on the clock

  3. With the 59th pick in the draft, The Houston Texans select Javon Bullard DB, Georgia

As with the first selection, the secondary commands the attention here. Bullard offers versatility and may project best as a nickel back. The Texans are pleased with their 2 selections in this second round.

@Virgil and the TSW poll are on the clock.

With the 54th pick in the draft the Cleveland Browns select Jermaine Burton, WR, Alabama.

@Doc Brown is in the clock for Miami

Burton has first round talent. I have him as my WR4 from that perspective, but I keep hearing about “off the field issues”. The problem is they no one is talking about what those are. In any event the talent is too great to pass up here.

    Ignorance is bliss

While I would love a Justin Jefferson trade...he's going to command record-breaking money when he signs his extension, and I don't think Beane is ready to turn around after the Diggs ordeal and hand $30million+ to another receiver.

Rather, what I view as more likely is that he'd prefer to draft a rookie in round 1, because that player would be cost-controlled for five years, and would allow him to spend money rebuilding other parts of the roster that need it.

The trade that makes the most sense to me is Chicago at 9 (they don't have a second rounder, and likely would be open to trading back and collecting more picks to build around presumptive first pick Caleb Williams). Something like our 1st round picks this year and next year, plus a 2nd and a 4th, would likely get this deal done. It would theoretically allow the Bills a shot at Rome Odunze (one of the "big three" WRs in this year's draft).

The other one that makes sense to me is Denver at 12. The Broncos may want to move back, collect more picks, and go after a Bo Nix type at quarterback. Something like our 1st round picks this year and next year plus a 2nd could get this done. This would theoretically allow the Bills a shot at Brian Thomas Jr, the next best receiver after the "big three".

Lastly, failing a move up, I could see the Bills either picking at 28 or moving back into the second round to add a third rounder. In this scenario, they'd draft a receiver in round two (the position is very deep in this draft), and then trade the newly acquired 3rd for a veteran receiver like Brandon Aiyuk. I don't necessarily see them going this route, but it wouldn't shock me.

You're right about one thing: Beane won't be standing pat at 28 and just doing nothing and using all 11 picks. He WILL be wheeling and dealing. It's a lead pipe lock.

    I like your thinking

  6. With the 42 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, the Houston Texans select Ennis Rakestraw Jr., DB, Missouri

We, the Texans, feel we are on to something. Having secured the #2 WR position  in a trade with Buffalo, the offense is primed to take it to the next level and compete with the powerhouses in the AFC for years to come. With young stud CJ Stroud, a stable of diverse WRs, productive TE and a capable, if not good, OL along with newcomer Joe Mixon in the backfield, this offense will excel.

Demeco Ryans and company acknowledge the defensive backfield is a sore spot on the D. Therefore Rakestraw will be given every opportunity to make an immediate impact. With promising young CB, Derek Stingley, playing opposite, we hope to have our tandem for the foreseeable future.

@TOboy and the Atlanta Falcons are on the clock.

Can you take him at his word? It would be unwise to totally telegraph your WR requirements before the draft? Everyone knows the Bills need to take a WR high now more than ever after the trade.

    or is it reverse psychology?

My gut tells me BB will acquire a vet WR before the draft.

Everyone's replaceable. My point is replacing half the team in one off season will take some time to mesh. At a time when AFC teams are making leaps and gains, we're playing catch up. By season's end, we should know if our second window is open or not. We absolutely pissed away Josh's first SB window.

I can’t argue any of this. That said, my expectation is for this team to make the playoffs and compete for a SB - this year.

BB has to get get creative however limited we may seem with cap space and draft capital. No excuses.

Before I say anything else I have no problem moving on from any of these guys.  It was the right move 100%  I am excited for the direction the Bills are going in.  But if you are talking about going directly into next season you are delusional if you don't think they won't feel the impact of losing so many starters and vets and they are going to waltz into a Super Bowl title.  We have no idea what Mcgovern is going to look like as a starting Center, we have no idea what the Defensive secondary is going to look like.  Our D-line still came up way too short last season when it really mattered and there's no indication that is going to be resolved by next season.  There will be growing pains or setbacks this upcoming year.  I swear some fans on here underestimate how freaking hard it is to actually win a Super Bowl lol.

Hang on. I never said SB or bust. However, my expectations with Josh at the helm remain high. The turnover can be a shot in the arm. I expect a playoff team this season and I'll take my chances with #17.

It's a tall order to say you lose WRs 1&2, starting CB and your 2 safeties, some DTs, and a revamped OLine and say we're as good as we were. It's a necessary step back but a step back nonetheless.  I hope it comes together in time to make a playoff run this season. KC is better, Cincy is back, Chargers look better, Browns, Jets and Ravens look good. And the Texans look like a breakout team. So precious little room for error. Diggs lost faith in this team, with good reason. We find ways to lose in crunch time. Maybe this latest talent turnover will fix that. I'm hopeful but not expecting it this year.

Gotta be honest. I lost faith in him down the stretch. His play, for whatever reason, fell off. He's replaceable.

My question after everything we've done this offseason and now in moving Diggs....

    Why did we keep McDermott?

Let me preface it by saying I wasn't out for his blood after this season. If he stayed or went, I wasn't going to lose any sleep.

But many felt this was a make or break season for him. Then they did about as big of a soft rebuild of the team as you can do while still having a Franchise QB in place.

Even with a potentially better roster on paper, there's now *SO MANY* moving parts this season that it almost feels like a built in excuse or expected that we don't take the next step.

I feel like if we were going to do this much overhaul to the roster - this year would have been a good time to make the change at Head Coach too.

Pegula has no appetite to change regime. As for me, there are no excuses. I expect to contend.

I'm not making that statement strictly based on losing Diggs.  I'm factoring in the losses of Morse, Poyer, White, Gabe Davis, Leonard Floyd as well.  It's just too much roster turnover for one season.  Of course they aren't going to come out and talk like it in front of the media but I guarantee you behind closed doors even Beane and McDermott are approaching the next couple years like a quick reset.

    Davis? Floyd? You're kidding, right?

Morse, White and Poyer were all expendable.

Even so, the organization is in a less than ideal position. They are now paying a receiver 30 million to not be on the team. It might be the right move, but it is not what anyone wanted to happen. Ideally, Diggs would be on the team, happy, and contributing. But he's not.

I didn't envision the upcoming season without Diggs, but I get it. He's replaceable. I'm actually excited to see the new WR room and the offense that Brady employs.

    My expectations remain high.
