  1. First the pick of jauiron gave me the smae ill feeling as Superbowl 27 and Levy's decision to Let Kelly start the SUperbowl after Reich had been so hot. THen I thought about it..and then some more..Levy is that afraid of someone with GM experince fine ok. However, Marv has had a reputation of hiring good assistants right so why not a head coach. THe best thing I can think of out of all this is that MARV will guide Jauron through it since they are reportedly soo close and Jauron will forever be in Levys debt for giving him the shot again that Jauron will be all to inclined to do whatever Levy suggests. Which I will give this one season Before I state that i think our waterboy could do a better job than Jauron. But with a Hall of Fame coach aiding him to be succesfull I will allow them 16 games before i become totally irrational oiver the direction of thios team!!!!!!! So much for the commitment to winning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. is the prediction of who we think the mind trust are actually going to hire or a prediction of who we believe they should hire. Well thinking in that note this is like a split between flutie/RJ and RJ. vanpelt and Bledsoe/Jp so if we base the upcoming decisons on these major decisons past Lets see flutie was experienced and RJ had potential flutie was to expensive so we went on potential. Van pelt was a fan favorite and RJ was a flop so out goes rj in comes bledsoe Let go of the best possible starter for our team for an unproven rookie now trhe whole organiziton is in reorganiztion. So since money always apperas to be a factor in all of this. My unfortuante prediciton is they will wait to see if pittsburgh loses today interview Lebeau and he will be the compromise hire. However if pittsburgh wins then we are looking at Jauron because he comes cheaper and is less of a threat to Levy. Hopefully im only specualting on all this because if its not sherman id rather have april/caldwell then any of the other retreads because the all spell losing season for 3 more years atleast and we will be a less attractive place than we have become this year for Free agents.
  3. It concerns me a great deal. THis is the year the Ralph is putting commitment to winning on the line and by hiring anyone other than Shermans qaulifications would be a step in the wrong direction.
  4. Alot of people on this site would like to see somone differnt taken By the bills. Personally I want to see him drafted especailly since adams looks like hes got 2 feet out the door and Ngata should be arounf for atlest 4 years.
  5. I have to agree i would definatly take April or Caldwell over Jauron I even think the waterboy could do a better Job.
  6. In reasearching the only winning season of Jaurons tenure in Chicago I came up with this TEAM W/L TEAM STANDINGS BAL L 10-6 ATL W 5-11 ARI W 7-9 CIN W 7-9 SF W 6 -10 CL W 7- 9 GB L 12-4 TB W 9-7 MIN W 5-11 DET W 2-14 GB L 12-4 TB W 9-7 WAS W 8-8 DET W 2-14 JAX W 6-10 PLAYOFF PHI L 11-5 THE ONLY TEAM HE BEAT WITH A WINNING RECORD WAS TAMPA BAY 2 TIMES. However, in his best and only winning season Mike Shermans packers beat them twice. Just thought I would point out another reason Jauron shouldnt be the guy out side of hin going 1-4 as an interim coach with the lions. He has loser written all over him!!!!!!!! I personally couldnt stand being in the bottom of our divison for the next 3 years either.
  7. http://www.bearshistory.com/seasons/1999.html I was online looking around for Dick Jauron Stuff to see if anything else would convince me that he would not be another GW/MM pick for head coach and came across this article that essentially stated that dave mcginnis was the guy but the Bears F'up big time and intoduced him as there new head caoh without agreeing to terms and Mcginnis declined the job. Also looking at the roster Villariel was on the OL and Shane Mathews was the QB.
  8. Your right some say Tomato some say tomoto. Some say Sub some say hoagie some say soda the rest say pop. Its all relative.
  9. http://www.cstv.com/auto_pdf/p_hotos/s_cho...osman-draft-bio The reason I am posted this link separtely then as a reply in someones thread already started is for everyone to be able to see what made him an impression on TD and Sherman as well as myself becuase I would have drafted him only second to Rothlesnberger because i personally feel that Rivers and Manning are not the quality type of QB we are looking for. Except I had him going as our second Round pick. To reply to his threads. I think JP was dealt a bad hand from the getgo. Say what you want about Bledsoe but he had the respect of his teamates and to lose his job to an unproven QB who was out of 3/4 of his first season because of a broken leg, I dont think was a smart decisionon behalf of TD whom by the way was not going to be shown up by pittsburgh striking gold in their QB's first year. TD was paying more attention to his damn ego then what was the right thing for the organization. Bledsoe should have been the QB last year hands down. Regardless of what the Bills fans think of him he was the veteran leader that had the credentials as far as his teammates go and they want to win at all cost not take a step back with an unproven rookie who stole a job away from what Bledsoes teamates thought was the best gut in there. JP could have been getting one more year with some playing time throughout the year but he would have been one step closer this coming season or next depending on how we would have finished. However, I have seen two types of JP this season the First JP who was timid an nervous and didnt want to let ANYONE in the orginzation down. Then in his second stint I saw a QB who had gained confidence except for the NE game the fallout of moulds game. For anyone to state he did not progress in his first stint he was: 46/94 433yds 1 td 2 int first 4 games passing completion percent 48.9 .5 int % 59/118 907 833 yds 5 tds 6 ints passing completion percent 50.0 .833int % and his back up game 9/16 for 137 yds 2tds and the win. So we see in his stats much improved in yds/tds and td to interception percentage improved as well as a slight increase in accuracy. This kid has the tools hes not RJ hes going to be a good QB and he certainly his better than ELI with better stats lets look: Rank GP GS comp att comp% yds tds ints QB RATING 18 9 8 113 228 49.6 1340 8 8 64.9 JP 18 9 7 95 197 48.2 1043 6 9 55.4 ELI So in the rookie year comparison JP blew away ELI and in Eli's first complete seaon he took his team to the palyoffs but only with a 52.8% passing completion %. SO anyone uneducated enough to write JP of as a bust please do more research on first year qbs. Also note that ELI has an Offensive team with Burress and Illiard and Tiki Barber and a real good catching TE in SHockey. So if we put these in place we could see a great improvement in JP. ok!!! No on my own personal feelings JP reminds me soooooo much of Farve the simularities are great and thats why I feel sherman wanted him because Farve would have shown the kid how to put those talents to use.
  10. http://www.packersnews.com/archives/news/pack_24362761.shtml Not that this states anything definintive except Jerry Gray IS looking for a new Job. Bates said he will have a job in a day or two as of today, The Bills are in the decision process and could be his destination with sherman. CROSSING MY FINGERS
  11. Since we are reminicing-GW couldnt handle the QB controversy between VAN PELT and RJ and his West Coast offense failed and his 46 defense wasnt that great we stripped our club of valuable payers to meet each of these two systems only to trade away for Bledsoe and again strip away the players that made Bledsoe such a good passer in his first year. But having a 4000 yard passer and an 8-8 record sealed his fate. Mularkey had a major breakdown in his second year, personally i feel that maybe he wasnt part of the decision to let go of Bledsoe but agreed with TD that bledsoe wont carry us to the playoffs, but JP wasnt ready and NOT having an open competiton in camp lost the veterans of the team and that IMO was the failure of MM he couldnt figure out how to get the vets unboard with the QB decison, Still remebring his qoutes when Holcomb was knocked out " I was trying to figure out a way to get him back in there and it solved itself". Once again experience head coach will need to be the key to handle the veterans the QB contraversy and instill leadership, an identy, and consistency to team that has none of the three.
  12. Well if we listen to Marv and Ralph we only need to replace 6 coaches 1. OC 2. DC 3. DB coach 4. Strenghth and Conditioning 5. Offensive assitant and 6. DL coach. Look at the irony of looking for a head coach- Weve interviewed and offensive cordinator and 2 defensive coordinators- no point here but Hasselet will be looking for a defensive coordinator job along with capers since it appears noone will hire them. However, if sherman is hired its rumuroed Bates will come with him so essentially that will fill 1 slot of 5. The hardest spot to fill will be offensive coordinator. STeve Marriucci is available and if Sherman is hired maybe he will be brought in? Maybe they will promate Wyche unlikely-bring in Farve since he retire to be QB coach for JP or maybe Jimbo has been promised th QB coaching slot?Hire Lofton as Offense Assitant . All saracsm aside The offensive coordinator will be the hardest to fill other than that it looks like the reast should be easy to fill. So time shouldnt really hurt the team all that much when it comes to assitants.
  13. You Forgot that they BOOed DOnavan MCNAb for his first round selection in the Draft.
  14. Lets keep the same home uniforms and use the throwbacks as the road uniforms as long as the Buffalo on the Helment never changes Ill be happy
  15. http://www.colts.com/sub.cfm?page=coachbio&coach_id=19 I was wondering why we would be adding another canditate to the head coaching search since it sounded as though the team wanted to name a new head coach by today. The NFL might have told them that Lofton wasnt going to fill that miniorty spot becuse everyone in the leauge including the fans knows that Lofton isnt ready to be any teams head coach. Caldwell atleast looks like a real caoching canditate. Still not sure who they are leaning towards hiring. Hopefully it is Sherman, IMO if its not its because Levy will feel insecure with a coach who has GM experience and isnt looking for a power struggle and if that is the case then Dick Jauron wil be our next failure at head coach!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. I want Sherman and he was my pick before Mularkey quit. There are many reason i feel this way. 1. Marv is an inexperienced GM Sherman is an experienced Gm they could compliment each other. 2. Sherman coached in Green Bay the only other team with a fan base comparible to the Bills so he knows what to expect. 3. Green bay is a cold weather team so their wont be much of a drop off coming into Buffalo. 4. Granted JP is not Bret Farve but he does resemble him in alot of ways and Shermans experience with Farve could lead JP to be a very productive QB in this leauge. 5. Sherman brings respectiblity to the HC position immeadately upon hiring very few if any will disrespect his authority like they did with GW/MM.
  17. Well with Sherman coming into town tommorrow maybe hell be hired especially since green bay will be picking up whatever we dont pay him over the next two years.
  18. As much as i like the loder defense and a huge fan of the 3-4 days an certainly miss watching Bruce smith I thin the 2004 Defense was the best I have seen just imagine if we had an offense to go with that defense. THey had an identy they were opprotunistic the scored most of our points that year.......
  19. Shermans first season was 2001 and below is the divison standings of 2001 NFC Central Team W L T PCT PF PA Home Road AFC NFC DIV Streak yz-Chicago 13 3 0 .812 338 203 7-1 6-2 3-1 10-2 6-2 Won 4 x-Green Bay 12 4 0 .750 390 266 7-1 5-3 3-1 9-3 6-2 Won 3 x-Tampa Bay 9 7 0 .562 324 280 5-3 4-4 2-2 7-5 4-4 Lost 1 Minnesota 5 11 0 .312 290 390 5-3 0-8 1-3 4-8 3-5 Lost 4 Detroit 2 14 0 .125 270 424 2-6 0-8 0-4 2-10 1-7 Won 1 So in his first year the last year of this divison he was 12-4 and missed the divison titlle by one game. Yep such a loser dont need this type of winner for our losing team lets get an unproven loser to continue our losing. Great Idea!!!!
  20. How can you consider Sherman a Loser in 5 years he had 1 bad season this year he lost 2 wr 3 rbs and a bunch of others throught the season. SHerman definately is the best for this position IMO.
  21. Belichik was also on his way to another failure with NE until Bledsoe got hurt and Brady came in and now he is successful. Maybe it isnt all about the coaching maybe it also has to do with the level of talent and their ability to follow their coach. Maybe it also has to do with the gm and the coaches relationship. Take Millen and Marucci Marrucci was a success before he went to Detroit and now hes marked as a failure. Wade Philips was a failure in Denver but was succesful with our team until the QB contraversy. What really demostrates success for our next head caoch. Hasselet-nope i would take April over Hasselet-Mike sherman was an Offensie Coordinator under Mike Holgrem before Going to greenbay with playoff appearance 4 out of 5 years. I know we feel burned by the GW/MM era and many of us didnt like wade all that much either but out of the three that we ran out of town Wade had us in the playoffs twice. Bobby April seems to have a good impact on his players and seems to know how to motivate them to play he does not seem like a bad option. But I think it comes down to what is the philophy of the team at this moment are we preparing to be winners in 2006 or allowing an adjustment year for the QB and HEad Coach. IF not then we go with the best possible canditate and IMO Mike SHerman is THE best canditate available, or if we are allowing the adjustment period then I think TED COTTRELL should be our next head coach all of the players have spoken very highly of him and I think he finally deserves his due.
  22. LEvys record for his tenure in buffalo 1997 6 10 0 4th 1996 10 6 0 2nd 1995 10 6 0 1st 1994 7 9 0 4th 1993 12 4 0 1st 1992 11 5 0 2nd 1991 13 3 0 1st 1990 13 3 0 1st 1989 9 7 0 1st 1988 12 4 0 1st 1987 7 8 0 4th

  24. 2001-GM/Head Coach Mike Sherman names Mark Hatley as vice president of football operations (May 17). 2005-President Bob Harlan names Ted Thompson Executive Vice President, General Manager & Director of Football Operations, with full authority over football decisions. Mike Sherman becomes Executive Vice President & Head Coach. The move, Harlan said, was about a system and not about individuals, based on structure, not on performance. (Jan. 14). 2005 4 12 0 4th 2004 10 6 0 1st 2003 10 6 0 1st 2002 12 4 0 1st 2001 12 4 0 2nd Sherman has GM experince hired as a GM in 2001 had 4 straight winning seasons ans the replaced in 2005 and then fired at the end sounds like a structuring problem yoou dont fire a winning caoch atfer one bad season in 5 years. I think sherman is the best option,
  25. First off, I think its unfortunate that MM didnt have one last shot to prove his worth in Buffalo, But he made the right decison, everything had failure written all over it. So now that it will be official at 11 am tommorrow lets see how true the organization is to winning. Bring in Mike Sherman. HE knows what it means to play for devoted fans, cold weather and to fit the team for a Farve like QB in JP I believe SHerman is the BEST OPTION to our success. In not saying this year will bring playoffs but he will bring us to the road that gets us their the quickest. Either way we will find out how cheap or how dedicated Wilson is to winning. I dont want martz or some nobody anymore I want proven background with good credentials and Mike SHerman brings all of it to the table. One final though too, WIth SHerman I believe he can entice good freaa agents in the free agency market.
