  1. The mean reason is because he is black. Personally i have no problem with it i wanted dennis green when he came out again. But I beleive ralph dosesnt like Black people in Head roles, not as a GM or a Head Coach or even a QB. Somebody please correct me if you havent seen the same thing over the decades.
  2. I agree with most of your take. 1. there will be at least 2 more qgs in camp this summer vying for number 1 or number 3 qb slots. 2. Would not mind the new and improved ron dayne backing up Mcgahee nezt year but if we could land someone even more proeven it will help our running game immensely. 3. Like it or not Sam adams is gone so we need 2 Defensive Linemen. Hard to believe so many on this board are downplaying that as our possible pick at #8. 4. Line is definately a priority and finally the issue i have been mentioning for 4 years now might get resolve Teague is no center he did an admirable job but is not a center. I believe we need a true center and LT and that should help plug up the holes. 5. TE's are severly underused by a TE headcoach go figure we need someone better than campbell pleeeeease!!!!!!. 6. Personally and I will gladly take the heat for it. But Moulds has to go. Hes a me me me me reciever that doesn't get his body hurt for a catch that is not a premier receiver to me. Plent of other teams have gotten better recievers for less money.. who is that well i cant find the wrs 2006 free agent list. Like you I dont know if mularkey is tyhe answer but I do know that in his first year he rallied the team a game away from the playoffs from a 1-5 start. I beleive that TD was a micro manager and that interfered this year in what could have been Mularkeys success. Seriously think about it anyway release a proven veteran QB who brought you a game away from playoff contention to a rookie had failure written all over. No matter how many of us think that bledsoe wasnt good enough to take us he was still the better choice over JP this season. I like what i see in JP and more so becuase i had him picked to be drafted over all of the qbs. I like his style grit and never quit attitude. But still needs to be more proven.
  3. Does anyone rember the biggest mistake of Marvs career was our first Superbowl against Dallas. Frank Reich became the comeback kid against Houston and took us the three wins needed to get to the bowl. Kelly's ego couldnt handle not being in there and Marv starte kelly "We are going wiht the guy who helped get us here" Which should have been Frank because he was hot. And Kelly barely made it into the second qtr of this blow out. The other thing that sticks out most in my mind is Marv dumped us when Todd Collins/hobert/hebert didnt pan out. He was not going to stick around for a rebuild and only wnated to come back to the bills last year when all the peices were in place to make a strong push. Face it JP is riding the bench this year and rookies beware and First round picks well Just ask Eric Moulds he knows it well. Didnt start until his third year after Marv left. Marv is going to bring in a Veteran QB and some retreads they are going to make the push for the bowl run this year read between the lines while we still have a defense that does not need rebuilding for atleast another year or 2.
  4. Ralph also stated in his first press confrence that the Head coaches assitants were the decisions of the head coaches and he was not going to tell him who to fire or hire. NOW Marv and Ralph will decide who will be the caoching assitnats for Mike with Mike. Sounds like they are trying to get him to quit.
  5. Assitant headHead Coach-GLenn Parker OC-Jim Kelly QB coach-Frank Reich Rb coaches-Thurman thomas when sober kenneth davis when hes drunk Offensive line coach-Kent hull wrs coach-andre reed te coach- pete metzelarrs(sp???) DC-Darrel Talley Defensive line Coach-Bruce smith Dbs Coach-Thomas Smith or or Nate odems LBS Coach-Cornellius Bennett Deffensive Assitant-Henry Jones Strenght and Conditioning-Shane Conlan Special Teams Coach- Steve Tasker
  6. I agree with a great amount of post that lists the postives as well as the negatives, but hs anyone truly put any thought into their responses or are they just going on gut reaction. Questions that have been asked: 1.What changes have really been made? One of the best changes I have seen in sports. A split organization one that is adminstrative and the other that is purely football related. Anyone who works in management knows that this improves the overall structure of the Bills allowing more time for the football side to do just that concentrate on football without having to worry about the admistarative BS, other teamns will soon follow the blueprint the Bills are laying out once its proven to succeed. It is a copy cat leaugue. 2. Whos reallyy in charge? Ralph, Marv and Mularkey will be deciding on the staff of Mularkey. I veiw this as a positive so when it goes bad they are all to blame not just the head coach. In addition Marv has proven experince in hiring truly qualified assitants to his staff which will be very valuable to Mularkey. I also like hearing the fact that every one will be working together in the draft room to get the best charachter guys for our BUFFALO team. What i have collected and inferred from the press confrence is that it will be a team effort and if managemnt and coaches are going to be working as a team the team should be working as a team. outside of our defense we havent had a team unity in a long time and I truly believe this is one of the things the MArv definately brings to the table TEAM and teams wins SUPERBOWLS or atleast appear in 4 straight. THe best thing I like about all of this is the fact that Marv has one last chance to take us to a SUPERBOWL and hopefully win he brings that tyoe of credibility to the team and its that tyoe of credibility that inspires players such as PArcells and Gibbs to name a couple. Finally everyone is really overating a true GM alot of coaches are essentially the GMS that push to get the players the want for their team, and usually have a hard time handling both the coaching duties and GM duties . Lets see how free agenct, the draft and preseason goes before we cook all the decisons that have been made. The vast majority called for the heads of TD CLements and GRAY we have that wish granted. I like the new mind trust of the Bills am not completley sure that MM is incapable of succeeding as a head coach withou one more year without TD. We are so quick to forget that he rallied his team from a 1-4 start to finish 9-7 one game shy of the playoffs his first year. He had a rough second year and all caoches go through rough spots ask Bellechik he was fired from the browns and on his way to a third losing season with the pats before Bledsoe left and a dynasty was born.
  7. Channel 4 news (Paul Peck) just stated that an agreement with Marv Levy is looking to be reached. He may become Co-GM with Tom Modrak. More to come on channel 4 news at 6. Im not sure that Levy is a good idea to bring back in a gm factor. I have listened to him most of the year and his comments about the bills is their not far off the need to be stabilized with veterans. He also thought the JP wasnt the answer now for the bills to win they needed a veteran QB. Sounds like we wil sign a retread and all old veterans to get a shot at the SB while infalting our cap. Just not sure this is the right direction.
  8. For the second straight year beledsoe falls one gem short at least this time he doesnt have to really play for it tonight llike he had to do last year against Pittsburg 2nd and 3rd stringers.
  9. One of the things that has me thinking. JP showed signs of making strides in the Miami game that he ended up losing. Moulds throws a hissy and accepts his one game suspension against NE. JP goes out and gets completely destroyed, the team is maybe teaching him a lesson for his possible part in Moulds supension. Then Mularkey has Holcomb start as maybe a compromise to Ralph Wilson granted Moulds request not to Play with JP losman for the remainder of the season because Holcomb gives Moulds the best chance to catch the ball. Plus with moulds and Ralphj seeing the writing on the wall that he will be playing his final two games in Buffalo, Moulds wants to showcase his skills to the prospective teams so he can get the money he wants. Sounds like a decent theory to me. Plus in contradiction to everyone else TD is gone at the end of this season. TD still has to perform to an expected level so he can showcase his worth to other teams and state that he never threw in the towel up until his final KO by Ralph wilson which indicates a little bit of charachter on TD's part.
  10. I think people are missing the point on the TH trade. Yes Travis was disgruntle and didnt want to be a number two when he has carried this team on his back before Willis got here. We got a third round pick for him great, Travis is still in the same position he was when he left here sucks to be him. The main point is Travis was a viable back up because he was capable of starting-not to mentio he was a bruising running back. THe fact his there is noone behind willis to give us a viable option, and not to mention if he went down we would basically jave no rb capable of starting and TD totally negelected this.
  11. Im starting to see alot of whining from everyone who usually are somewhat educated in their responses. First, I believe alot of us are correct in stating that TD needs to go. I turly believe this for a variety of reasons. 1. His 5 year plan stated playoffs-Missed 2. Hired Greg Williams-Missed 3. Drafted Mike Williams with the highest pick the Bills have had in years-Missed 4. Never improved the offensive line in his tenure-BIG MISS 5. Kept brittle RJ over a team favorite and proven winner-Missed 6. Thought we would be better off without Big Pat Williams-Missed 7. Thought our rookie qb who had a broken leg a majority of the previous season was ready over a qb who was one game away from playoff contention after a 0-4 start-Missed 8. Trading away our best backup option at RB and not replacing him with a viable option-Big MISS 9. Drafts players who have never played in snow-to play in BUFFALO- HUGE MISS. TD came from a successful tenure in Pittsburgh-right? Well Pittsburgh has been succesful over the last 5 years, Buffalo was succesful until TD arrived-So waht makes him the great GM that we cannot do without. I think hes power hungry and controls every minute aspect of the team. I know we would like to hang MM for the job this season but give him another year without TD before we do that. As long as he gets an Offensive coordinator and a Defensive cordinator he might do a fairly good Job. Not too mention the fact that the QB troubles stem around Eric Moulds-he wants the ball and he wants Holcomb hes been here for ten years and he wil get what he wants because he is Eric Moulds. We will se a purely different team without him next year. I know he wil be hard to replace. But players are replaced every year and new names become househod names, we need to take the risk. Not to mention Belechik was a losing Head coach for the browns and a loser his first 2 years with the Patriots 3 years is a good measure for the head coach. IF he fails next season then we axe him. Jerry Gray has always been a bad coordinator except GW masked it for his 3 years and Dick Lebeu masked it last year. Dick lebeu wasthe best coordinator we could have possibly had and we lost him to keep Gray who has shown this year how bad he really his. Next year without a doubt is going to be painful to watch but if they put the right peices together 2007 will be our competetive year. A new line, young qbs/wr/RB and defense we could becme a forcible team.
  12. First I will Give Marv his do respect, but for those of you who have selected memories Marv Bailed on us because he did not want to go through the rebuilding stage with the team. He then Resurfaced the year we got MM realizing that our team at that point intime had all the peices to bring them to a possible superbowl run and advaocated his return to the Bills but TD didnot want someone of his age and INFLUENCE in HIS organization. I doubt seriously MArv would comeback to a team that is not quite ready especially in QB unsurety and inexperience.
  13. First if you had to choose which one would it be a New Head Coach or a New GM? Secondly, How come noone is mentioning Steve Marrucci as a Possible head coaching Canditate he was a fall out of a poor GM not poor coaching. Or Jim Fassell which i wanted in the first place since we couldnt have my first choice Dennis Green Because TD would never allow his coaches to have personnell decisions oh thats also why he dint want Fassel my bad. Peronally I think we get rid of TD give MM one more year to prove himself hopefully with a the right peices being fixed by the new GM and see what he does. You have to give credit to him for the first year coming from a 0-4 deficit to one game from the playoffs. I belived TD was the reason for Bledsoes departure this season becausing he was hoping that JP could mask the horrendous line with his athletic ability and save beldsoe from being killed. Plus if he gets the right O/C and D/C see what he does with a more experienced JP next year nad upgrades in Key roles before we give him a boot for his softmore slump.
  14. The points you made are good but we are all eluding from the major reason Mcgahee wants to goto Florida. His Knee. If anyone even rembers when he was drafted and his first year in the leaugue, they said the last place someone with an injury of his magnitude would want to go is Buffalo something abut how the cold weather effects the injured knee. That while he is in a consitant warmer enronment it will have a chance at maintaing a longer career.
  15. Ok so Bills fans and Patriot fans alike didnt like the netal breakdowns Bledsoe had in big games. But When Blesoe came to Buffalo he was a 3,000 a year QB his first year with us he throws over 4000 yds and then falls short the following two years and then is released. Bledsoe then goes to Dallas and with 4 games left he only needs to average Just under a 100 yds per game to obtain his yearly average. Year Team G GS Att Cmp CmpPct Yd YAtt Lg TD Int Rate Att Yd Avg TD 2005 DAL 12 12 374 229 61.2 2703 7.2 70 17 11 86.1 31 50 1.6 2 2004 BUF 16 16 450 256 56.9 2932 6.5 69 20 16 76.6 22 37 1.7 0 2003 BUF 16 16 471 274 58.2 2860 6.1 54 11 12 73.0 24 29 1.2 2 The point Im getting to. We havent had a 300 yard passer but we released him and hes thrown over 300 yds in todays game alone. So the thing I am trying to put my finger on is how much of it is the coaching, which Bledsoe had 3 in last three years, how much is the offensive coordinator, Bledsoe has had 3 in the last 3 years, and How much is the OFFENSIVE LINE. Which he had a better one before he came to Buffalo and a better on after he left. How much is the recieving core I.E. TE that can catch-once reimersna and price left Bledsoes numbers Dropped. SO if there is no viable drop down option how is any QB ever going to get good When your only true reciever is constantly doupled covered and the line is giving you a miny second to get rid of it. Personally, I hated to see Bledsoe go. As we can purely see after his departure that is TD and the Offensive line are the two major things that need to be rectified immeadately if we ever have a chance to be a good team again. Even seeing Flutie on the field day atleast reminded me of the last playoff we were at. Year Passing Rushing
  16. I have noticed since TD has taken over the reigns of this team we have become a warm weather team. All the pansies cant wait to get infron of the heater with their big jackets on and always practice indoors. The bills pre-TD used to use the weather to their advantage psyching out opponets by wearing short sleeves shirts adn playing very well in cold weather.
  17. According to this article, my interpretation is unless we do a complete overhaul of the front office and coaching staff we might not be able to get the free agents we are looking for based on incidences with Moulds and Adams. http://www.democratandchronicle.com/apps/p...331/1007/SPORTS
  18. Ok, When we lost to the pats under TD before Bledsoe, I said inexperience, When we lost to the Pats with Blesoe, I said mental weakling, BUt now when we lose to the pats its purely obvious that the front office and coaching staff need to be changed. You cannot go to the playoffs if you cannot beat the Patriots period. I also realized in this blowout that as much as moulds has declined, and as big of a hit is cap number will be, he needs to play out his final year or extend it out a couple fo years because we need his veteran presence in the line up of inexperienced receivers. (thus i am retracting the fact i would cut moulds). Ralph wilson needs to look at the obvious this off season. TD must go and hopefully the coaching staff will go with him. Im so tired of seeing opposing offenses that have guys open and we rarely ever do. SO our off season moves in my list of priorty: Let me know how you feel. 1. Fire TD 2. Hire A New GM-let him decide on the head coach-hopefully some one with experience.(but maybe just the gm factor might be all we need since he seems to be a control freak) 3. Fire the offesive and defensive coordinators-I never liked Gray-Greg Williams and Dick Lebeau made up for his short comings this season has surely proven how awful he is. 4. We have enough rookies on this team we need a veteran offensive line. Starting with the center which most of us have been stating for the last 4 years, The center controls the line. 5. A valuable proven back-up/starting capable running back to mix up the running game. 6. Two defensive tackles that can block the middle. 7. A WR to eventually succeed Moulds. 8. passcatching TE I think Losman will do a good job with better line protection and a vaible running game. But no line and reciever who cant catch and running backs who are not running leads to another year in the cellar of our divison. I honestly feel we are truly an offensive line and a GM firing away from break out of the playoff funk. I am very encourage by Losman he shows alot of promise 10 times more than Rob Johnson did (probably because hes mentally tougher and smarter than RJ was).
  19. http://www.buffalonews.com/editorial/20051...?tbd1072681.asp I think the fans of Buffalo is Going to get their wish and TD will finally be gone after 5 dismal years of leadership. In a previous article last week, I could find the link later if you would like, Ralph gave a big bode of confidence to MM but as far as TD and the rest of the staff would be evaluated ate the end of the year. In this article hes not happy with just ticket sales he wants to win its interpreted since he Likes MM as his head coach and doesnt wnat to make to many waves the Modrak would become the GM of Football side and another guy woule be the executive vice president that would be in charge of marketing and non football related items giving the fact that Modrak already has a good repor with MM. In my opinion TD is purely gone, so is Jerry Gray and Tom Clements as coaching staff is concerned. The players that are gone should be a given, Mike Williams, Nate Clements, Eric Moulds, Sam Adams, Josh Reed, maybe Troy Vincent and/or Lawyer Malloy. wich frees up between 20 and 35 mil based on salary cap implications of cutting theses players. The most pressing need is the offensive line followed by the defensive line and secondary. 1 possession type reciever and a qauility back up or starting RB to mix things up. A safety and a shutdown corner would round off my wish list with norv turner or marrucci as our offensive coordinator and herman edwards as our defensive coordintor unless there is some out there better Dick Lebuaux wish he was still here.
  20. The question that has been around is what will happen to the Bills if Ralph Wilson Dies. THere is no family member taking the team over so will the new owners keep them in Buffalo or will they be moved to another city and state and would they still be called the "" Bills? My question is this would you still be a Bills fan if the moved from Buffalo? I have been a fan since !989 and I am A Buffalo Bills Fan I would not be a fan if the moved the team I would have to be a hometown fan then of the Patrioits 3 superbowl wins later? What would you do?
  21. I agree 100% we will not make a playoff run as long as TD is the GM. TD never addresses the issues the team really has he tries to put a bandaid on it and then states he addressed it. I agree with another person earlier thay corey simon was available why didnt we get him knowin pat is gone and Sam is at the end of the year?????? TD is really putting the purse ties on the team and as long as he does it that way we will never get to the playoffs under his leadership.
  22. I was reading some post in who we could have or might have gotten if not for Mularkey. Well first lets start with the mind of TD he lost his GM job in Pittsburgh because of an Experienced coach in a winner known as Bill Cower thus TD will never hire anyone with any remote knowldege of coaching a football team while hes the GM because all he has to quote is " I got him the players he needed why isnt he winning? I am keeping us out of cap hell/jail its the coaches job to win" thus he will never get fired for his own stupidity. Personally I am not opposed to MM, However i have always been opposed to Jerry Gray/ Greg Williams was calling the plays because he sucked so much last year was Jerrys free ride he had help he had Dick Lebau which i wish was still here. This year Jerry Gray should be shown the door along with Tom Clement another worthless coordinator. If we are lucky enough TD will be shown the door but as it always seem the balme is always going to be on the coaching staff even though we as fans know he did not resolve either lines issue in the offseason now matter how he trys to paint to us that he did. Anyone who thinks we have a chance to take over the divison this year is grossly over opptimistic. NE has a a very very easy shedule and we are struggling. The best move is to have JP finsih out the season as a starter see what hes made of and what he have for a QB next year. Start to say our goodbyes and good riddens to Eric Moulds, Josh Reed, Mike Williams Sam Adams, Jeff Posey, Nate Clements and cordinators Tom Clement and Jerry Gray. Then Hope that TD truly resolves the problem of 2 DTs and 1 center and 4 linemen for the next season.( and nobody with injury history please)
  23. Moulds is not worth the contract nor should we have resigned him. Flutie made him an allstar and everyone else since flutie has had the get it to moulds attitude that doesnt win games. There are more talented recievers out there that will go after the ball unlike the wimp moulds has become.
  24. I have not posted in awhile but need to post some aggrevation in the way this season has NOT progressed. I was not opposed to the benching of JP every rookie needs a reality check go out there and earn it. Howwevr, what is this preschool playcalling that doesnt allow this offense to move. Do we think that TD learned his lesson by not replacing Pat Williams, what made him think he had someone who could replace him, just because he drafted a guy in the 3rd round. I truly understand the reasoning behind releasing Blesoe Td, good job you saved his life or you could have been charged with murder to put him behind that horrendous line. Do we think hes learned his lesson their either and we will get players that are proven starters first before we go on the cheap depth theory. How about Moulds, used to love him no I dont think hes worth the salary dump him and sett josh reed loose save 10 million and buy a line. And while your dumping players that are worthless get rid of the big fat contract of the back up T/G R/L whichever position he might not be playing while we pay him 10 mil a year. Finally, do not resign clements to more than 5 mill a year hes not worth any more then that and yeah while your at it TD fire the offensive coordinator/defensive cordinator and yes....yourself. You have brought us from a playoff team to an annual joke. I am so tired of hearing we have the palyers to make the run but end up with 9 or less wins year in and year out for ther past 5 years, You are wasting the talent on defense. Defense may win championships but its the offense that keeps them fresh. PS the only reason why you keep going after rookie head coaches is so you can control the team, let the coach coach maybe he will do fine.
  25. So explain to me first how a 5 foot 9 wide receiver is going to get us into the endzone? Secondly how is this guy the best player on the board in round 2. Personally i would have drafted 6'4 Chris henry Speed, big, and physical seems like a better number 2 than the one we drafted
