  1. Look I maybe a cynic myself and very realistic when it comes to the reality of life but really i have been wondering why everyone is up in arms over this hire? First, anyone who has been devoted to this team knows we had no shot at a dream coach no matter how hard we try an believe. Second, No one truly wanted an upcoming coordinator we have been there done that with no success. Third, this team has never hired anyone to fit a system of Buffalo. Look at this team look how we are built we are a run first team and to survive in this leugue in the cold we must be a run first team. We have two different but very good backs that both could and should run for 1000 yard each but CHan Gailey fits that philosophy he knows how to run the ball and adapt his players to that offense. He has the playoff experience he has worked with top tier coaches. I have been around since Marv was already here so I dont know how anyone felt about his hire but I have been here for the Wade Hire - Didnt like it, Gregg Williams, Didnt Like it, Mike Mularkey Accepted it but liked the other canditates better and DJ well I flipped my lid with that hire and we know how that one went. I might be a little numb to it all by now But I think we should give him the Benefit of the doubt first, He is going to take responsibility for the Offensive side of the ball he will shoulder all the blame if the offense is faltering. If he gets it working the way I beleive he might and if he gets a good DC our Defensive should be even better depending on the draft and who we bring in in free agency I believe we see improvment next season Maybe not playoffs but definatley an improvement. We are fans of the BUffalo Bills and as such we should be embracing the New head coach and his staff becuase right now he has a better record then the rest since Wade hes 0-0 in Buffalo. Lets see what he does on OUR field with OUR football team this season before we call him a bust. Just a a foot note I live in NE and let me tell you the fans were not happy about the Belicheck deal especially giving up draft picks for him especially after he faltered in Cleveland but he to runs his defense he too comes from a long line of success and working with top tier coaches and he did turn the PAts into a dynasty Cheating or Not he did what none of the fans bellieved he could do. Im not saying that Chan will do that for us but one never knows let him show us on the field what he can do before we chasitise the poor soul.
  2. The guy you called a piece of garbage knows the fan base got screwed. He said he has played in Orchard park and knows how passionate their fans are about their team and they got a coach that no one in the upcoming division will fear and that is dissappointing.
  3. Sorry did a quick look and didnt see anything.I wouldnt have posted it otherwise
  4. Steelers Model. Run first offensive serves best in cold environments and if he brings the 3-4 defense as well it would greatly improve our overall chances of succeding VS the Colt offense which is suited for warm weather and Domes and the defens we cant stand to watch.
  5. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=ap-b...p&type=lgns He is stated to have made the switch to a 3-4 defense and had much success he just appeers the Josh and Mike aggreed to part ways. Just a suggestion. Since we all would like to go back to the 3-4
  6. ISnt Bellicheat known as the most unemotional coach in the game and his team is a dynasty?
  7. It appears that the Chiefs Now have Charlie Weis and Romeo Crennell together again with former NE QB Matt Cassell. The last time these two cordinators were on the same team they won the superbowl. Does anyone think that the Chiefs will rise to that spot in th next two years or Billicheat and Brady are the only reasons they won?
  8. By all accounts this team does not look as though its going to hire an experienced coach. WHy should we go aafter another assistant to promote ot head coach when we have on right here who did well with the hand he was dealt. If we should give any assitant caoch a chance to be our next head coach why not Perry? I liked how he got this team fired up and he didnt do to bad considering he was pulling double duties. He knows the players and the organization he comes with some fire. Give him some qualified coordinators and let him run the show. I dont want to hear anythig baout hes a byproduct of Jauron. He proved to be better then Jauron. Give him a full offseason to prepare and qulaified assitants and lets ee whta he can do. Personally I would like cower though that is dwindling but I think Billick would be a good fit as well but if we are not going for experience then I say give Perry the JOB!!!
  9. I was thinkg about this veryt hing earlier and my thought was Brian would be the head coach and His dad would be the assitant Head coach possible DC as well
  10. Look I dont want any assitants as our next head coach if we are not going to get cower Hire Billick and let the off season begin. However if we are not going to hire a coach with experience they only one who would be acceptable to me in all honesty is Perry Fewell. The players know him, the players respect him the players played hard for him he did not do a bad job witht he hand he was dealt. Get him some qualifies assistants and an off season to prepare I think he would be just fine. I liked his emotion and passion knows Buffalo wants the Job in Buffalo and already has the insight on all the players.
  11. Sitting here thinking about it all. First thing is we only OFFICIALLY interviewed Fewell and Frazier. Cower is said to have had "stealth meetings" nothing concrete not considered an official interview. The question then becomes is the Bills keeping their coaching search under wraps? Usually by now we would have a list of candidates and when the would be scheduled to interview then hear from them after the interview about the position. One week and NOTHING. Which could lead me to believe that the rumor about coaches are potentially true. If thats the case then we have been turned down by more coaches then we "offically interviewed". I know everyones screaming for Cowher and personally he was mt firs choice and I saw him fitting well in Buffalo but if his rumors are true first snubbing us for an interview after Jauron was fired statin he wantsto wait until teams have a head coach vacancy while in fact we did have on Fewell is the "intrim" not "THE" head coach. It also seems like he wants to use us as leverage to get the team he does want and if thats the case he doesnt want to be here and if he took the job it would be for the wrong reasons because his heart wouldnt be in Buffalo his wallet would and thats not the type of coach I want here. Since Cowher is pissing me off Billick is my choice whether hes been contacted or not he is advocating for the BIlls Job he wants to be here and I want a guy who wants to be here. I watched his hard knocks season and I liked him regardless of his QB situation he has done well and comes with a winning record and knows how to win a superbowl with a noodled arm QB. I would just like to hear potetnial suitors from the Bills and when they are coming so I coud feel more confident about their coaching search.
  12. Personally Cowher is my choice always has been. However if comments are true form Ralph and his willingness to pay a HEAD COACH 50 mil over 5 years I would rather have Billick at 5 mil or less and 5 mil to be spread form the OC/Dc and Special teams guy so that we can get 4 qualified guys for the price of one. The thought that crosses my mind is this Shanahan took Washington in my belief only (nothing to substaniate what I am about to say )because he would be able to bring in whatever guys he wants and snyder would pay for them. I dont think Ralph and Co are willing to open the wallet on the assitants. So my theory is take the next best guy you could afford and pay good Cordinators money so we could have an overall good team.
  13. He will have no problem getting his son Brian if in fact he becomes the HC of the Bills one of the great things of the NFL is adding on little word before OC and its Assisant Head coach. This could be a viable scenario as Marty could Groom his son to be the Head Coach in waiting.
  14. Considering all of the following: Fired OC before season First time Offensive Cordinator Fired DJ mid season. Intrim First time HC Coach playing double duty Started 3 different QBS 20 players on IR Intrim Coach playing double duty Inconsistent inexperience injured riddle rotating OL Thin @ LB Thin @ CBS Rotating safties Rotating RBs Inept Offense No Rushing Defense Old Wr with poor attitude and hands First time Offensive Cordinator We managed a 6-10 season with all of the factors which gives me hope for the upcoming season. Why? If we can go 6-10 with all of those factors with mediocre and first time inxperienced coaching and players I anticipate a New experienced Head coach with better cordinators and better personannel descisions should give us a plus 3 which means that the new coach should give us a 9-7 record next season might not be the playoffs but should be an improvemnet no the less. There are talented young players on this team and just need the right HC to put it all together. So now comes the best part of our season THE OFFSEASON and hopefully one of the last seasons we say that.
  15. Tony Sparano held a HC position at New Haven and worked as an Assistant Head Coach to Bill Parcells in Dallas who Just happens to be the same person who hired him in Dallas. Parcells had first hand information otherwise he would still be an assistant. If Grimm was good enough Pitt would have hired him and he did not. Grim in my opinion is not the best fit for us. I cannot see why anyone would want him after failures of the head coaching position Hot cordinator GW hot Cordinator MM and mediocre DJ we need someone who knows the game of football not just the OL we need a Cower if Not I think Billick is our best option if he would take it at least he knew how to win without a QB worth anything.
  16. I have seen a quite a few threads with this guys name in the mix as a desire for the next hc and my question is why? Hes and OL coach with no Cordinator experience which in my mind equates to no game planning experience. I thought the idea here was to try and get a HC that is either very goot at gameplanning or has experience as HC and a strong list of Cordinators. Russ Grimm in my opinion would only be a choice if everyone turned us down.
  17. The fact is everyone in the NFL i guess witht the excetion of the colts Knows that they could have played all their startes against the Jets and tried to win and give all the starters this week of or even 1 qtr of play and they would still go undefeated becuase our team riddle with injuries probably could not beat their third stringers. The point I am trying to make is the Last game of the season is to rest your starters. DO you know how high the reatings would have been for NBC when the would have flexed the 15-0 colts to Sunday night alot of revenue lost and it would have mattered if they rested their players becuase unlike the Pats when the played the eagles in game 16 and had to play the whole game to win it the Colts didnt have to. Dont be Biased you know the peyton could easily have it 21-0 in the first qtr and let the rest of the team play from there. I think the rule should be addressed and that starters can only be rested in the final week of the season in preperation for the playoffs. But why would a team who has the bye really neet to rest their starters?
  18. Could you also tell us who the next HC will be? By the way good insight on the Buddy Nix at first i didnt believe then i searched and low and behold you did.
  19. Buddy Nix and Marty Schottenheimer are close friends said to be looking for a job together and "Cowher began his coaching career in 1985 at age 28 under Marty Schottenheimer with the Cleveland Browns. He was the Browns' special teams coach in 1985–86 and secondary coach in 1987–88 before following Schottenheimer to the Kansas City Chiefs in 1989 as defensive coordinator." IF Marty and Cower are close and Buddy and Marty are close there could be a posibility that the connections could lead Cower to be our next head coach. I found it odd that Cower was the first name to come out of Jimbos nmouth and for many of us fans he has been our first choice all along. Maybe being overly optmistic but I think it might be more of a reality then many of us think.
  20. Hes not goig to state that right away publicly be realisitic all jobs will be evaluated and positions will be assesed. I give him a plus 1 hes a foot ball guy and has been part of winning organizations and top 5 in talent and hes not TD.
  21. Is it that some of these rumors we hear are true? Is it that Jimbo and Thurman are deeply involved in the organization and maintining is exsitence in Buffalo? Normally when we hear comments from Jim and thurman they are outside of the organization this time they were part of the organizations presser. Jimbo seemed like he really had some major input and influence with Bud I could be reading more into it then whats there. But Jim gave me the feeling that hes going to be working for the Bills and the Fewell is not going to be our next HC and that its feasible that we will get the dream coach in Cower. I know that remains to be seen but thus far I like the comments from Jim and Bud Thurman did seem nervous. But why were they there and answering press questions and eluding the question of what their role is in the organization and the process?
  22. Im tired of losing. I am even more tired of losing to the Patriots 2-18 this decade. I cant stand seeing the team not know how to win. We had more chances to win that game yesterday then we did to lose it yet we still lost. Dumb penalities, costly offsides, and crucial drops. Get us some one that will gear this team to win play until we won dont stop until the the game has been declared over. I was hoping that Fewell could prove to be the Guy but he proved me wrong. I dont care who the players are on our team or who we are playing the object is to win the game period.
  23. I agree with the cuts with the exception of witner. I disagree with a QB in the first round. I know we need one but I think we go with the best player available Like a MLB/DE/DT/OL go for a QB in the second if necessary we could always rade for one it worked for the texans when they got Mat Schaub who knows Brohm could already be the guy. However in this draft i wouldnt waste a first round pick on a QB we need other positions more.
