Is it time to sever all ties to TD era by
loadofmularkey replied to oregonbbfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm pretty sure Buffalo is the only team left standing following the "dark jerseys-dark pants at home combo" craze that hit the league about four years ago. Ah, I just remebered Seattle is also still guilty of this offense. That doesn't help things. -
This morning on WGR, Howard Simon had people call in to record themselves saying "Being of sound mind and body, I promise not to freak out when this team goes on a losing streak. I am reminding myself today that they are awesome and this is just a slump." A time capsule kind of thing for when the inevitable slump hits. Kinda funny. Anyway, Miller skated this morning. From what they've said on the radio he was moving pretty good, meaning the possibility of a sports hernia is slim. I think they're just waiting until he's absolutely 100% and I don't blame them. I heard Linday say on GR that Max is likely to return next week either against Toronto or Montreal, but could play this weekend if things go well. Lydman, I have no idea.

Congress to have hearings on Sunday Ticket

It was never exclusive to just DirecTV (or at least hasn't been recently)...Adelphia used to carry it. I currently get it on Comcast... -
You're definitely right, anything could happen and the 05-06 Senators are a good example. But I think this team has way more leadership, heart, and determination than that Ottawa club. Guys like Drury and Miller are flatout obsessed with winning. I feel like this team believes it could've and would've won the Cup last year even if two of those four defensemen were healthy and this season they're systematically punishing everyone because of it. It's a long season, yes. But I like what I see so far.

Having spent many wasted hours in the baseball forum last month, I agree.

This happens to be one of the smartest columns in recent memory to come out of the News.

Bill Belichek, what a loser!!!

These were thoughts I posted on a Jets website, which I think apply. Belichick's anger at Mangini has three components: 1: Belechick saw Mangini as a successor, look how long he kept him, and kept promoting him. He felt especilly blindsided when Mangini left after only one year as defensive coordinater, without anyone else on his staff with the experience and knowledge to step in with Mangini's knowledge and qualities. 2: Belichick hates the Jets, as he felt blindsided when he had an offer from the Patriots which Parcells knew about, so Parcels, hating the Patriots, decided to move up to General Manager, which put Belichick in as the Jets coach, and when he declined, his new team, the Patriots, lost a draft choice to get him. 3: Belichick hates Mangini personally now because of the offer to Dion Branch, who he thought that he could keep on the cheap. The offer by Mangini sealed the deal that Branch wasn't coming back, and now the team has no reciever who can sense when Brady is being blitzed, and come back. That is the reason that you are seeing balls thrown into the ground by Brady when he is blitzed, as he had seveal years of Branch coming back when he was blitzed, and the only reciever who has that experience now is Troy Brown, who is too slow to react. I used to admire Belichick, but the Vinitari deal, in which Vinitari was first represented by Belichick's agent, showed me the true meaness of the man. Vinitari went with his/Belichick's agent to an interview with Green Bay, during which Vinitari found out that the agent did not have an offer for Green Bay, on orders from Belichick, who wanted to keep Vinitari on the cheap. Vinitari was livid, and fired the agent when Indianapolis contacted him. This is the same General Manager who signed Tom Brady on the cheap, then would not pay Dion Branch, Brady's favorite receiver, even though the Patriots were/are thirteen million under the cap. Of course that was also influenced by the Patriot's owners, who have a huge interest nut to pay down on the privately financed stadium, and are nickle and dimeing everything now (look at the condition of the field). 836046[/snapback] Those are all really good points, and likely though they may be, they're still no reason to snub the other guy in front of the cameras and thousands of fans. That's just bush no matter which way you cut it. -
That's no fun

I don't remember Buffalo playing New England at home, at night anytime in the last 10 years...has to be the Tennessee game. PS -- I wish the Stadium could look like that again. Uniforms, end zones, lights, fans actually getting excited...everything. -
Don't tell Mort or Lenny P that.

If I'm a Texans fan, I'm pretty sure I'd be somewhat satisfied having beat the Jags twice in three weeks. If I'm a Miami fan, I'm pretty sure I'd be somewhat satisfied having beat the Bears and Chiefs. If I'm either of those, I'm not scared one bit of Buffalo (especially with this offense) who ALMOST beat the Colts.

Sometime in the early to mid-90s. Reeves stopped wearing suits once he took over the Giants. -

After reading "The Education of a Coach" last winter, my respect level for BB actually rose a couple of notches. After yesterday's classy display it plummeted about 50 feet. Pats fans can try to spin that anyway they want, but it came off as a totally classless/sore-loser move by someone who can't handle being beaten by his former underling. -
Even "Simply Having a Wonderful Christmas Time"? Hey, I worship the Beatles and therefore believe Sir Paul to be a God...but that is one POS song.

By the way, excellent timing ABC...I'm sure no one will get Day Break confused with soon-to-be released "Deja Vu," starring Denzel.

This article is crap. Right off the bat...I have never heard that Losman prefers periods not be used when spelling out JP. On the team's website, he is listed as "J.P. Losman" under both the depth chart and roster.

I never had a problem rooting for Leonard Smith. Not even in the same class as Harrison. Meanwhile, on the ice, if only Darcy Tucker could break his clavicle...

Did anyone see her suprise Letterman last night? She looked better than she has in three years. So she shows up on Letterman out of the blue to show off the fact that she's dropped about 40 lbs on the exact same day she rids herself of K-Fed. Not that my earbuds care (but my eyes are a little hopeful) is there any doubt she's planning a comeback of sorts...? -
Yet More Evidence That Buffalo....
loadofmularkey replied to JDG's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There's a controversy? In a much more related story, I don't know if anyone caught the CBS pregame show on Sunday but they were asked to rank the QB Class of 2004. Losman was included, but they all snickered a little extra when they each ranked him last. It was either Boomer or Marino who said, "He doesn't even belong here". -
Is the Ralph really safe to go to?
loadofmularkey replied to Oneonta Buffalo Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I started going to games when my dad got season tickets in '87 at the impressionable age of 8. I saw people throw up on each other, I've seen fights, I've seen blood, I've people get hit with flying objects, I even saw a guy smack his significant other across the face. Some of the most creative swearing I've ever heard in my life has also come at Rich/Ralph. Definitely not PG stuff. Looking back, it was probably a risk for my dad to let such a young kid witness this stuff eight Sundays (and more, back then) out of the year. But on the way back to the car, he would always say, "See that? That's how you don't want to be." He was right. It didn't look like fun at all. I couldn't understand why those people just wouldn't wanna go and watch the game like I did. I'm 100% sure seeing all that stuff at such a young age played a huge role in how I turned out.
