Yes, seems like the NFL is investigating whether Titans players gathered to practice outside the facility. If so, they forfeit. Speaking selfishly, I'm bummed if the game isn't played on Sunday. Heading up to WNY this weekend and was hoping to see the game.

Hardly ever post but I read TBD every day. I just feel they have staying power here. They just seem authentic and are disciplined to know what they are doing. Kind of like Wade Phillips or Schwartz. Disagreed with decision to cut Fred, but what's done is done. Glad he is heading to a contender (I've been to that stadium and it is loud as hell, so it should be pretty fun for him). How does it work when you pick up a player that has been cut? Do you inherit that guy's remaining contract, or do you have to do a new contract?

If this were a swap, I'd take Ryan and Roman over Marrone and Hackett every day of the week and twice on Sundays. I think the Pegulas did very well handling this.

The Pegulas would have been in over their head had they caved to Marrone's ridiculous demands. I stopped reading Sully's article when I got to the second paragraph (and even that was 1 paragraph too many). I've always read his columns but basically this one is over the top and I'll never read him again once I figure out who is on the by-line of future BN articles. He is basically a shrill, bitter, person that has no accountability for his opinions and that says the same thing, weak after weak (misspelling is intentional). Life is too short to support his drivel. The Pegulas are going to make mistakes. No question, they are new at this and will make mistakes, but the only mistake I've seen them make so far is clinging to the past, putting their eggs in the Polian basket, and the resulting delay in hiring a czar-- if that's what they want to do. That doesn't mean they are in over their heads. It doesn't mean the sky is falling. It doesn't mean there is "blood in the water." Personally, I think they've done pretty well with the crisis, especially given that they've only owned the team for 3 months. Let the chips fall where they may; I am going to sit back, enjoy the suspense, support them, and see where things end up.

I know this has probably been discussed ad nauseum in other threads, but has there ever been a time in the history of the NFL where the owners have not approved a potential buyer that has been unanimously approved by the Finance Committee? It ain't over till its over, but I would be shocked if this thing isn't finished by Oct. 8 regardless of the other issues the owners will be discussing. Pegula's bid, if approved, would be the highest price for an NFL franchise in NFL history and I really don't see how the owners would let those other issues (and RG's potential employment) kick the Pegula item off the agenda. The owners don't need RG to do the vote.
