  1. All bonus, I say he folds for the WNBA, leaves the other guy behind 10x out of 10.
  2. I hope the reports are wrong, of course, but to get on the American hostage release list, it helps to be a good basketball player.
  3. That’s a-ok with me. 😇
  4. Assuming this is correct, that there was an omission in the complaint, you believe that indicates this is a frivolous suit?
  5. Yikes—that sounds daunting indeed. Best of luck to you and your family.
  6. I didn't miss anything, Tibsy. I was responding to @sherpa, his comments on Israeli engagement of Hamas, and the reality of war. That made you think of the trials at Nuremberg. I don't know why. When someone speaks of pumpkin pie, I don't immediately think of Thanksgiving, 1947 in Peoria, though pumpkin pie probably was on the menu.
  7. "You guys"? How many people do you think I am? As for your question, no, I think the Nuremberg trials were a natural outcome from the war in Europe. I'm quite certain the process was imperfect, that some scoundrels escaped justice, and others were justly punished in a manner consistent with the times. I'm not sure why a conversation on the Israelis defending themselves from Hamas brought you to the point that Nuremberg popped into your mind. Well, actually, I'm not 100% sure anyways.
  8. It’s as if no history book, ever, addressed the horrors of war (or the potential costs of standing down).
  9. Girl, I've heard you're getting married Heard you're getting married This time you're really sure And this is the end, they say you really mean it This guy's the one that makes you feel So safe, so sane, and so secure And baby, if he loves you more than me Maybe it's the best thing Maybe it's the best thing for you But it's the worst that could happen to me
  10. Obviously @Irv has the final say here, but take the hit on this one. In a twelve word post mocking the intelligence of another poster, you booted “your/you‘re” back to first grade. Next time run with youse, and just say you’re from Utica.
  11. I want to apologize, this is a deadly serious situation. But I can’t help but imagine his handler stating “Günther, wenn der Offizier sich nähert, wird er freundlich sein. Slumen und sich tot stellen.” which roughly translates to, “Everything will be fine, Guenther, the officer will respect you for protesting. Play dead.”. Next thing you know, Guenther is wailing like Mac Jones with an ankle sprain, on X, for all the world to see. That’s funny stuff.
  12. As is usually the case, you’re working on a deeper emotional level. I just figured if you’re gonna be in a group around the table at Thanksgiving and things might get contentious, it’s better when people are easy on the eyes. Btw my son used that phrase “total smoke show” when he was late middle school/early hs. I had to ask if that was good or bad. 😂 My wife was telling me the other day that I was a typical male, swayed by the looks of a character on tv. I thought she seemed nice. My wife thought there was more going on beneath the surface. It took 5 or 6 episodes but damn if she wasn’t right.
  13. Fake Baby Lenny is a big kid. I’m gonna have to have talk to his momma.
  14. Oh gosh. I can only imagine little baby Billsy yelling “SIMP!”, “FREAK” and “SYSZOP” at passersby from the shadow of the trees.
  15. Breaking up with someone simply because they view political issues differently seems like a weird line. With luck—while I personally believe true beauty lies within and I’m against objectification generally—-she’s a total smoke show. @muppy please weigh in. I’m right here, correct?
  16. I’m still waiting to hear a compelling reason to keep this footage from the public. If certain segments reveal overly sensitive areas, or imperil national security, that can be stated clearly.
  17. Here comes the rich man in his big long limousine Here comes the poor man all you got to have is green Here comes the banker and the lawyer and the cop One thing for certain it ain't never gonna stop When it all gets too heavy That's when they come and they go They go With only one thing in common They got the fire down below
  18. I'm indifferent about Musk generally but yeah, his x was pretty bad. Apple is making a powerful statement here, in this specific case, but... Beyond that, I love Apple products and pay the required premium to own them, but I'm not sure what the boycott represents beyond what they likely see as good marketing. The company loves its partnership with China, Saudi Arabi and the like, and partnered with Russia until just recently.
  19. You're perilously close to getting uninvited to my virtual happy Friendsgiving Party, Tibs. Perilously.
  20. Gotcha. I was under the impression that when counting abortions, your theory was 3 or 4 is ok, but by 5 or 6, you gotta pick up the tab yourself. I am just trying to keep it real. You seem like you're waffling, this whole not being on one side or the other. You're on a side---the side that favors the government establishing rules about access to abortion, when that option should be available, and when that option transitions from a person's right to choose to a child's right to be born. Yes! John supports reasonable restrictions--restrictions on onerous government regulations, restrictions on the time frame when a person can have an abortion. This is easy when people stop dancing around the truth.
  21. Ah, the tried and trued "Sure, everybody does it but this is double-bad". I'll give you a different perspective--his wife is one of the most polarizing figures in the nation, involved in politics at the highest levels of our government, and people speculate. The fact pattern that a vagabond would be able to break into the home of a person wealthy enough to afford a monthly subscription to ADP, engage the owner and have all this play out the way it did added fuel to the speculative fire. People love to see powerful people fall, love to speculate and love a good whodunnit. There's nothing remotely new here. It would be odd if people didn't speculate.
  22. Initially, I offered "lack of focus" to be kind during this season of goodwill. Now that you've doubled-down on the subject, I have to say, respectfully of course, that you may be dumb as a pumpkin.
  23. John, you were talking about multiple abortions like it represents a "Buy 10 Pizzas, Get One Free" card. That's troubling and has nothing at all to do with my perspective on women's rights. I agree with you that abortion needs to be an option for people to pursue. It certainly should be an option for people victimized as you've laid out. Yes, there are people who believe life begins at conception and abortion is always wrong. There are people who believe abortion to the point of delivery should be an option. My point is always the same--for people not on the extreme, there are millions of people debating where the right to abort ends, and the law steps in. There are millions debating what funding should look like, who should pay for what and how. I'll say offer one last thought, whether intended or not, your statement "To someone that doesn’t believe in women’s rights, it would be troubling" reflects the arrogance and dismissiveness of the stereotypical modern liberal.
  24. That might be your question, but it would reveal a significant lack of focus on your part. I asked you for your thoughts, Tibs, on what had you so riled up. I wasn’t arguing, debating, or suggesting you were wrong. I just asked you, and you’re the only place on the www to get the answer. Out of respect for our friendship and in the spirit of Thanksgiving, I’ll skip past the fact that we were discussing a guy named Floyd and you linky-dinked to multiple stories about Donald Trump. Congrats though on finding the material quickly though, we can call you 10 Second Tibsy moving forward?
  25. No, I have no idea what the indictment was all about. I was referring to the link you sent where it suggests the defendant was intimidating witnesses via social media sites like X (formerly known as Twitter). I was wondering what he said. This is interesting to me as an observer, because it seems at times the prosecution in some of these cases wants to silence defendants under the guise of protecting the process. It’s entirely possible that the defendants tweets in this case crossed those lines, but it seems at times the lines are blurry when (or if) you consider free speech standards. There are times where intimidation is a real problem, I was simply asking what you saw as so egregious as to include it in your link.
