  1. Most people have two for just this sort of thing. Don't baby him.
  2. If that link doesn't just say 1987 it's not a serious piece.
  3. Chef, you really cooked up a grade A BS sandwich there. It goes like this: You have an election. The person with the most votes becomes president. The President makes laws and stuff because he/she is really popular with the people. The judge wants to be popular (everyone does) so ipso facto he/she listens to the president. The judge then rules by president ipso facto following the popular public opinion of the day. Ergo, the court makes their decision based on public opinion. Democracy Uno Zed Uno.
  4. I heard the clip but did not see the video. The turn to glance at the heavens was priceless. Following their lead, the "free press" and the inordinate wealth of everyone ever associated with the NYT is the result of manipulation and oppression. I suggest closing the enterprise, liquidating assets, dismissing the enablers who work there, and voluntarily relinquishing pensions and all personal assets. Distribute the proceeds to the people. If they refuse, storm the gates! Or, you know, shut the power off and those elitist pencil pushers will crack in less than 8 hours.
  5. I saw him play a few times last year. On a few of the magic Mayfield drives, the passes to his receivers were not all that accurate, relatively speaking, and the receivers made good adjustments and came down with it. As good as Brady is, how many times have we seen guys like Welker, Amendola o Edelman bend/twist/flip or lay out to make the play happen as well. I didnt watch last night, but my sense of first year magic qb's is always the same--a great career is rarely defined by one year.
  6. I have been known to fire a remote at my tv over far less than what we saw last night. I'm talking about a November fit when truly all hope was lost by October. The only thing that saved me was I have God-awful aim.
  7. The room is dimly lit, DaBills sits staring into the darkness, a half-smoked camel in the ashtray on the table in front of him. In his left hand he holds a glass of cheap whiskey, the ice melted like a young boys dream of Super Bowl success for his favorite football team. He always holds the glass in his left hand when troubled. "I...don't know if I can do it again" he says to no one in particular. "Since 1973 I've been watching these preseason games, hoping against hope to see...something....anything. It all seems too much." The door behind him bursts open, sunlight bathing the room, and a giant of a man walks through. Startled, DaBills7three looks up and asks "Be you an angel?". "No. I'm just a guy from a message board son, and I'm here to tell you to put down the glass, throw out the camels, and sack the %#*^ up. We've had it way worse than this since 1973, and those smokes'll kill you." or--go to You Tube and search for things like Rothlesberger Bad Picks like I did. It'll dull the pain.
  8. Related: It's easy to understand what a player like Frank Gore brings to the team in terms of toughness and leadership. After that hit in the sidelines, banged up at 36 years old, in a preseason game...."Put me back in, Coach". McD gets some heat for process, clapping et al, but Gore brings it to the table. I'd love to see him take #3 on the all-time yards list in a Bills unit on the way to a nice run into the playoffs.
  9. Wait a minute. You don't know that she would agree but if she does, you don't respect her? You cannot spell compassion without 'u'' Tom.
  10. I'm thinking the humble hermit crab is just trying to get by. No need to disparage God's Sand Swifter.
  11. if you were to comment, what might you say?
  12. Pat's comments. Fair. No need for brake pumping. Pat's are on a 2 decade run of success. Fair to consider Chief's the heir apparent, but Pump the brakes on the chiefs and biblical aspersions. Chargers. Fair. Drive on Sir. Jags. 2018 record 5-11. Pump the brakes obviously its only preseason obviously. Steelers reloading from 9-6 season. Ben R is like a billion years old. Brakes, pump em. Browns. Built for success. Too much talent to lose. Obvious contenders for conference champs. Its like "Titanic", even though you've seen it 20 times, Leo never quite gets on that damn saloon door and freezes to death on his way to checking out Davey Jones locker. Pump the brakes. The Andrewanapolis Colts. Fair. Jets. Damn you. 4-12 a year ago, playing for a bug-eyed goober and without linebackers in 2019. Pump the damn brakes. I'm exhausted.
  13. I have to disagree. He can make many of the throws, it just takes the ball 17 seconds to get to the spot. By then, the defensive back has tracked it, broke in front of the receiver, googled "cool pick 6" dance moves, and personalized the choreography in preparation for arrival. I think the only yips are "Will I be the only cornerback who doesn't get an interception off NP this season?". I'm a fan of the guy and his desire to follow his dream. He's a top tier athlete, just not top tier enough for the NFL.
  14. Yeah I have no idea how I used italics on that v what I meant to. Let's go with I was complimenting you! You also moved the goal posts Plenz. I agree that some would find what Trump said offensive. That's different than "racist". When Obama insulted middle America with his "angry folks clinging to guns and religion', I thought it insensitive and racially charged. Divisive and hurtful. When he said "you you you didn't build that, someone else did" I found it offensive (and simpleminded) but not racially charged. We apparently cannot agree on the anti-Semitic nature of the Congresswoman. I don't see it as even close. Therefore, I take back my compliment and think you are a stupidhead.
  15. Look, I am fully aware that not every practitioner of Islam wants to see Israel eradicated. There are moderates, centrists and extremists in every religion. The point is the perception of racism/anti-Semitism. I'll repeat, invoking the name of Allah with respect to Isreal, and the call for "awakening the people" is what it is. I don't make the rules, it just is what it is. Referencing benjamins and the Jewish people is as well. But yes, I could be wrong. Maybe she meant Benjamin Netanyahu and Ben Shapiro. Maybe she has a crush on them.
  16. Wait, hold on just a moment. "Just because most of the free world associated that phrase...as racist"?. Where did you come up with that statistic? I'd bet you "most of the free world" was not aware of what was said, what the subject matter was, or the context in which it was said. You're projecting here, especially given the fact that the typical Trump supporter (60+ million strong) likely disagrees with you. Now if by most of the free world you mean dems/libs/trump haters, that's a diff story, but they stand to gain politically and financially by feeling that way. Contrast that with her comments about Allah and Israel and it's not even close. I don't think people of any persuasion would perceive her comments as a call to action for the average Israel to vote their leaders from office as a form of peaceful protest. And I think you'd agree with me if you weren't digging in here.
  17. Just one interpretation of what she might have meant when "Allah awakens the people": THE CHARTER OF ALLAH: THE PLATFORM OF THE ISLAMIC RESISTANCE ... (4) "Israel will rise and will remain erect until Islam eliminates it as it had eliminated its predecessors. I can see where it's pretty much the American equivalent of Barracking the vote.
  18. You're strong on overwrought emotional posturing and preciously soft on any sort of details. I gotcha though...it's everyone else causing the problem and you've done your part by having the courage to start the dialgoue. Pollute away little polluter. I did think of a way I can help though--I'm thinking of getting the GMC Denali package so I can check the performance of my energy stocks right on the dashboard. That will save me from having to drive home, grab the newspaper whenever I want to check stock prices. # considercarbon/offset
  19. I disagree. The medieval way involves the tyranny of hypocrisy, where party A invokes visions of death, destruction and lays a framework for morality that he, himself does not practice. The good news was the masses were offered an out--tithe regularly, tithe often and most importantly "ask ye not where thoust money goes, it doth assureth you eternal salvation...". Climate change theocracy in under 100 words. But, since you espouse the gospel of the prophet Algore....you prob didn't realize there was a second part to my post (and of So Cals before). Think Sean Connory is The Untouchables, after he's shot by Frank Nitti. "...《gasp》....what....are ye prepared...to do?". Seriously, how are you saving the world, and in keeping with the spirit of true carbon credit fascists everywhere, are you offsetting enough for me? My Prius lease is up soon and I'm leaning toward a GMC pickup.
  20. You have to find a way to rebrand. Expressions like "Oil Company Money", "BIG OIL", 'fair share' and the like are so 1990s. Some people believe in toxic-white-masculine-planet warming. Some do not. The end. Or, if you prefer, The end? And with respect to SoCal's post above, sincerely, what are you doing to save the planet? I was speaking to a person-made-climate change disciple the other day who happens to be a friend, he was telling me all about the established timeline to destruction. He told me he was reading about it on his new computer, dropped off at his very doorstep via UPS after being being delivered to a far-off harbor on a massive container ship. I asked him if he had any idea the size of his carbon footprint but he didn't hear me because he had his air conditioning running full blast.
  21. The challenge is for many if the smaller contractors that working for the large developers was where the money is. For many, they wrote off the delays as just a cost of doing business. I have met more than a few who chose to pursue other careers. As for the State, it's a large employer in Albany and the tentacles are everywhere. The specific case referenced was an emergency contamination job out near Amsterdam, and that client was totally dumbfounded by the delay. Fortunately they had the ability to carry the load but many do not. The common refrain is "sue 'em", but for some reason those damn attornies always want their koko beans up front. ?
  22. I never stopped to think how bad Tom Brady really is. He may actually be the worst QB of all time.
  23. Interestingly, over the years, I've met with suppliers and vendors for a variety of different businesses, and the two most frequent complaints I've heard have been directed at: Larger developers (business/homes)-notorious late payers, foot draggers, and often willing to forgo paying at all; The State of NY--all of the above, plus systemic apathy to the plight of the vendor who completed the work ordered by the department as to when/if they would eve lr be paid. One friend of mine did a medium-sized contamination cleanup on an emergency basis for NYS that ran about $450k. They paid their employees, prioritized that job over other paying work and fought tooth and nail to receive payment. Seems to me it went a year or so, and the answer kept coming back "we'll get to you when we get to you.".
  24. Tired, confused and precious little time on your hands. You're basically a really homely soccer mom.
