My state is burning to the ground.

God bless man, stay safe. I have no experience at all but it has to be a very difficult thing to go through. -
Fortunate son? Talk about stupid

@SlimShady'sSpaceForce mentioned theft, I replied to him originally. It's not on me if you can't follow the topic. What was the "glimmer"---just to be clear, you used that word in a prior post---you referenced when linking to the article? I read it in its entirety, then read it again, and was the "glimmer" that some licenses might not permit use in political context? You never said. The article seems to be much more a "gotcha!' then anything of substance regarding DJT. The story goes a bunch of aging and/or dead entertainers don't want their work used by a political candidate? Has DJT and/or his campaign said "Screw that, we'll just use 'Won't back down" anyway? Your link is much ado about nothing. Though, personally, I do like to hear the thoughts of entertainers on issues like this when they share them, it helps me frame how/where I spend my money in the future. -

Define “glimmer” based on this article?l. Where is the criminality as it relates to “theft”? -

We also don't know that there isn't an artist somewhere who is about to claim credit for writing the song that John Fogarty claims to have written. Who knows? -

But you called it theft, implying the music was used illegally. That's simply not the case. I understand the argument about an artist preferring their music not be used to support a political campaign, but they actively engage in the licensing because it makes them money. There's no need to pretend it's something that it isn't. -

Nope, I don't think so. Speaking generally, the music can be used through licensing agreements that the artist agrees to. What we often see is the artist who entered into said agreement raising an objection because they do not support the candidate. There is no theft involved. https://ew.com/music/2018/11/05/can-musicians-stop-politicians-from-using-music/ -
Dude, seriously, I reject the lecture as unnecessary and full of hubris. If we're all being truthful, you would acknowledge the obvious political bent on COVID that exists beyond whatever issues you have with your President. I don't trust anyone blindly, but learned long ago to ignore arguments that are one dimensional. The world is complicated, and there are people and leaders in the world that would gladly snuff out the livelihood of the working class in an attempt to rule the world. It is the way it is, it is the way it always has been, and will be the way in the future. You keep talking about the mask, I responded in kind. 98%ish compliance in my experience. I accept your thoughts on your experience. Your thoughts on people being willing to mix it up again are yours, and I believe you, but there are many people who disagree that hiding in the garage with the lights off is bad for all of us. You may well be correct that reopening our economy might well be irrelevant and mot people will stay away. I'm not so sure. As for all of us coming together, it's simply not going to happen. One simply cannot watch the comings and goings of life and come to the conclusion that we're all in this together. You cannot have one set of rules for the compliant group, while flaunting an entirely different set of rules for the those who choose not to be compliant. I wear a mask, I respect social distancing, I am as courteous possible and have been for decades. Still, I'm hard-pressed to support the destruction of businesses and the livelihoods of people across the country based on this political mess we find ourselves in now.

It is actually pretty funny though in an ironic way. Like all those dopey celebrities sending the healing gift of song by collaborating on "Imagine", a song about living with no possessions, recorded on a $1200 device that allows them to order a $12 half-caf-half-dark latte from the local Starbucks, to be picked up after a short drive down the Pacific Coast highway in a $272,000 gas-munchin lambo. Kudos to @SlimShady'sSpaceForceon this find. Somebody's head should roll on this one. -
I can only speak to my experience, but mask compliance is quite high in my travels. I'd estimate it to be in excess of 98%. I'd also agree that there are many folks who feel like you and will avoid gatherings like the plague, there are many, many others that would move on with their lives given the opportunity. The point is really pretty simple imo, snuffing out the life work of people that produce in our country is not an answer that doesn't bring with it a whole lot of other questions.

Frankish....would you mind sharing how you’re doing financially over the last six months? I’m not interested in picking a fight one way or the other, but it’s been my personal, local observation that those on the razor edge of financial ruin are much more inclined to want to get back to regular business than those who have received steady weekly/monthly income from any variety of sources. i was speaking with a restaurant owner in the Albany area yesterday. Offers a finer, higher end establishment and since he is on a waterfront, outdoor seating is not an issue (though the weather is turning), and he’s a self-made man with many other business interests. He said he’ll be fine, I did not inquire about his employees, but we discussed that 60% figure tossed about as it relates to restaurant closings across NY. If it goes that way, it’s a blood letting and the impact will be catastrophic. At some point, the logical conclusion is also the most devastating in the larger picture.

Where are the counselors to interface with this troubled teen? And, blame the parent for naming him Maverick.

@Taro T @IDBillzFan @OldTimeAFLGuy @snafu and certainly @Hedge: This was a priceless piece of PPP gold today. The Kemper: PULL UP MY POST! Youzall: Ok, here it is. The Kemper: THAT'S NOT MY POST. Youzall: Sure it is, you can find it yourself. The Kemper: "IMPOSSIBLY COMPLICATED!". Youzall: There's a search function, dude, it's right here." The Kemper: MY COMMENTS DID NOT REFLECT THE GIST OF WHAT I WAS THINKING! Youzall: Um, ok, but it's what you said. The Kemper: PULL UP THE OTHER POSTER'S POST, THAT'LL DO IT! Youzall: No can do amigo. The Kemper: GIIIIIIISSSSSSSSSSTTTTTTTT! This was awesome. Thank you and God Bless your skills in Forensic Reconstruction.

We disagree a bit on this one. The two situations are not the same. Trump made inappropriate comments about the heroic part of McCain's service to the country. Trump has never claimed to be anything other than what he is, a NYC guy who'll slice your achilles if it'll get him a better deal on real estate, and later on, he'l move on. Side note--for whatever reason, in all the #metoo hubbub, our venerable good old boy politicians like McCain and Biden get a free pass on the free-for-all that went on for decades in the senate. @transplantbillsfan linked an article one day on the subject, purporting to bolster Joe's reputation because a former staffer remarked that she never felt uncomfortable getting on an elevator with Biden, but other senators were notorious for placing fingers where they did not belong. While debatable in Biden's case due to allegations made by TR, the reality is that while they may not have been predators, they certainly were not heros to the cause. McCain famously boasted of his amazing friendship/enablement with one of the worst leches in politics, Ted Kennedy. Anyway, Harris and Biden and other ful-of-crap pollys set the table for #believeher #metoo and #timesup. They were supposedly the bridge to nextgen politics, to the end of sexploitation and all the rest. Harris, of course, gutted Kavanaugh like a fish, worked exceptionally hard to destroy him in a permanent fashion. Biden tried to appear grandfatherly, spoke of believing all women and so on, until he got his nuts stuck in his zipper. In 2020, exploitation and violent sexual assault should not be treated as political fodder by those screaming loudest for justice. Harris' dismissal of her comments about beleiving Tara Reade, and her crazy laughter when asked about it could and should be rightly acknowledged as laughing at yet another disposable creature used as a political pawn.

I always thought the John McCain comments were among his worst moments as a candidate. No need to say it, no need to go there, and certainly an affront to POWs. Still, McCain was just another insider who fed at the trough, positioning himself as a fighter of the system. He was certainly a petty man, made incendiary comments and just a few years before, his war service immunity was irrelevant when he ran for President. History tells us he participated in the attempt to destroy Trump and his family with respect to leaks and dossiers. There’s more, but that’s enough for now. Seems to me there is little need for anonymous sources quickly debunked beyond character assassination. Seems to me there was a well known athlete and a number of others who were killed recently when flying during inclement weather. I’m not a pilot but I’m pretty sure it’s a thing. I’m not a golfer, but I think sometimes golfers play in the rain, and I definitely know that golfing isn’t flying.

Well, that's the unusual part. Apparently he was early in his adult life, but discovered spirituality and religion later in life and decided he was not gay anymore. All this from an interview he gave in 2017. He also caused violence in Chicago according to another poster. Or maybe was from Chicago. I think the point is really, Hank Williams the Junior, Little Richard, Chicago, violence...and Mike Ditka.

You've progressed from attempting a half-hearted characterization to making Gladiator references that do not apply. But, since we're just making stuff up, uh, it's not fun neither when you try and beat plowshares into beer steins. I think he means because I was raised Catholic. Or, not. Context matters.
