  1. 100% agree. Let's get this all out in the open. Excellent. Let's follow the rules of political combat and see it through. The impeachment can proceed, then the Garland hearings can begin. We don't want the senate bogged down in the meantime. Garland will be fine until then.
  2. What’s the “good” point? This article is a bunch of horsepucky. The entire thing, top to bottom, soup to nuts.
  3. Word to the wise. Clean up is a biotch on a no carb diet.
  4. Again, just change a word or two and you’re the lead speaker in a pointy hat scene from “Mississippi Burning”. 73 million with an ‘illion’ go in the Bill’s naughty pile!!! I don’t understand how you can’t see that. People aren’t bad because they’re different, Bill. Sheesh. Your eyes may be open but your heart is closed. Regardless, that chuckin emoji makes me laugh every time.
  5. The trouble comes when you can’t see beyond your own emotional horizons, NB. In spite of the overwhelming evidence that hundreds of millions of Americans go about their daily lives peacefully interacting with an incredibly diverse population, if it suits your sensibilities to presume the 73,000,000 to be bigots, have at it. We can discuss the incredible historical irony of you and the rest of the Soldiers of the Woke Army lumping tens of millions of people not like you into one deplorable class of characters at another time.
  6. I’m not going after anyone. MWs comments were incendiary and were intended to incite violence when she made them, but you folks are cool with that sort of thing until you’re outraged.
  7. What’s the problem with that post? It points to the incredible hypocrisy of the American political system, and how people lose objectivity when emotion gets involved. Watching the Dems trip over themselves without an ounce of reflection is quite telling.
  8. Speech impediment. Classic. 😂😂😂
  9. But it's not the 9th day of his involvement in the crisis. He's been relentless on the Trump,plan/no plan, relentless on how Joe is going to fix it, and should be very well-versed on numbers, delivery of vaccines and the Joe Plan. He's been all about getting things done with some moxie and good old-fashioned elbow grease, but he botched the optics with his maskless family, he botched the optics of the inauguration with folks coming from near and far to party in the Capitol, and he seems to have a very flimsy grasp on the some of the numbers associated with vaccines, the virus and where it's all going. In short, he seems confused an awful lot of the time. Heavy lies the crown.
  10. I've read my comments a couple times and don't see where I ever said "if only teachers were willing.". I'm not sure if someone else wrote that, or if you're summarizing my comments as you see fit, but you missed the point of my post. @Doc Brown had shared his perspective with another poster in stating "I'm don't really understand this fatalistic attitude you have..." as it related to @Big Blitz comments about schools, virtual classes and so on. My response dealt with the reasons that some people might well have just that attitude. For those of us that followed the recommendations, it simply seems like the science is arbitrarily enforced, that COVID hovers over some large gatherings of people in major cities while seeking out Thanksgiving dinner with Grandma like a scud missile, and that school closings/lockdowns/virtual classes are problematic even given the pandemic. Still, those of us questioning the rather odd application of science rules followed the guidelines and supported school closings and lockdowns. To put it simply, it was what it was. The world has shifted again. Dr. Faucci and the CDC are sending a different message, and the message is to follow CDC guidelines and get the children back in school. For those in the profession that feel it's not safe, or the guidelines are not stringent enough, well they have the right to decide not to return to the classroom. That's the type of difficult decision that people are confronted with everyday during non-pandemic times. There are options--sick time, vacation/personal time, working virtually if the employer allows it and can accommodate the request, retirement, or maybe they should seek out other employment. Thanks for sharing some of the details about the school where you work. What you've laid out is that 40% of the students are virtual, 60% attend live classes. I'm not sure that makes the point you're trying to make. It seems by extension that some of your peers are back at the school and working to serve the 1,200 students. My point to Doc was that it seems there are many teachers who want to be in the classroom, and I have friends in NY who feel that way. Did you feel that I was taking a shot at them? I wasn't, I think it's admirable--but not necessarily any more or less admirable than for everyone else who is at work. For those that choose to stay virtual--if the district can manage it, if the results meet or exceed expectations for a quality learning experience, great. If not, seems like science should prevail. As for parents wanting to keep their children at home, sure, some feel that way. Many do not, and the frustration is mounting. Here's an example: https://www.foxcarolina.com/dad-rants-about-school-shutdown-in-viral-video/video_e58e7c3f-61b1-5010-a6c0-f7ed2bc975e7.html Finally, I know you're a sensitive soul, but I don't see where I pinned anything on teachers. I suggested Joe Biden should lead on the CDC/Faucci guidelines, and speak against scenarios like the Chicago union situation where it goes against guidance. I'm not sure what's controversial about that. Anyway. Glad to hear things are good in Hawaii.
  11. Well it’s official, we’re equally dumb.
  12. Tibs may be an eco-terrorist* for supporting the destruction of our planet! I bet he owns thousands of shares of Amazon too! *allegedly!** **obviously
  13. Snaf, whatcha figure the carbon footprint of an enterprise like a WaPo might be? I did a quick check, looks like the Social Justice Warriors pimp out Mother Earf for about 3.2 million newspapers weekly, and in DC for example, they'll have a newsie deliver it right to your door. I'm guessing carbon hovers for newspaper production and delivery, sorta like how COIVD spreads like a bastage except when it doesn't. Don't get me wrong--it's not like the WaPo could ever offer online subscription only. That's crazy talk.
  14. You’re asking the wrong question. The question is how does it not?
  15. I think it’s simply a reflection of a full year plus of restrictions for some but not for all, a reliance on the science mandated for some but not all, government fingers in the pie destroying some businesses and not others, and a recognition that the absolute safest place to be during this virus is to be In the employ of those pulling the lockdown strings. Everyone else must fend for themselves. From a leadership perspective, a good start would be for Biden to implore teachers unions to do the right thing by the children and communities they serve to get the children back in school. Or, appeal directly to the teachers to bypass the unions and show up to the classroom. There are many, many teachers who believe it’s past time to do so, but are likely fearful of going against the grain. It’s difficult to be positive when your back is against the wall, your children are suffering and govt is dicking around.
  16. "Slow dancing in the dark on the beach at Stockton's Wing Where desperate lovers park We sat with the last of the Duke Street Kings." Reads a little creepier than it should here--but I saw your screen name a week or two ago and the song has been stuck in my head ever since. One of my favorite songs back in college, and beyond. I may flip it on for the ride home. Plus, a few little tweaks and it almost made sense for the game. Great screen name. Peace!
  17. Well, that's just good family fun imo. I withdraw the prior commentary. I don't understand the validation issue, it sounds a lot like a made up grievance that springs from some of life's great struggles such as having spotty cell service so you can't order the Chips and Large Queso from the car and have to walk in and talk to someone. My daugher (now 24) was complaining one day about something having to do with our cell plan, so I told her "Grandpa had polio, but I remember him saying the treatment wasn't the worst, it was the buffering while streaming movies". Her response was age appropriate and priceless to me: "What, like THE polio?". Saw in another thread that your son wrestled (maybe still does). Mine as well. It's a tough sport, but it can teach you quite a bit about life along the way. Props to him.
  18. Yup, and in fairness, there were many of us hoping against hope the system would prevail after the Russia debacle, the one that had dem leadership speaking about stolen elections, a coup, and illegitimate presidencies. We pinned our hopes (though many were concerned that it was going to go nowhere) on Durham and AG Barr suggesting that 'what was done to this president was horrific', only to find that career governments insiders had no plans on doing really anything except returning to status quo. Imo it still goes back to mutually assured destruction between what passes for 'leadership'.
  19. We're all searching for answers to what went wrong in that game. Emotions run high when you're a Bills fan. I was speaking with a close friend, Theresa, she's into all this new age positivity and energy, hell, she blamed me for being so negative in the second quarter. We argued for quite a while after the game, back and forth until it got very late. I thought she was full of it, and told her so. I said..."Blame it on the lines that killed us, blame it on the Chiefs that ran us down, you can blame it all on me Terry it don't matter to me now. When the breakdown hit 'round midnight there was nothing left to say, but I hated them, and hated you for what you had to say.". (forgive me)
  20. Amazing accomplishment while his political enemies attempted to destroy him and incite violence by claiming the election was illegitimate.
  21. Ah, I recall the guy play long enough after the whistle to draw a flag on his own. Had him in the air, no need to drive him to the ground. Josh took offense, tossed the ball at the old noggin and got under his skin. Thereafter, who knows what’s coming? JF came after the guy, minor scuffle, no harm no foul. Well, foul, but whatevs. Just boys being boys.
  22. You really think so think so?
  23. I'm glad you said that. I can see the potential for misunderstanding what I shared. Wide, I'm sorry for saying you sounded like you were being a dick to your sister-in-law. I was wrong for gas-lighting you. See? See how easy it is? You can patch things up with her, make your wife happy and do the right thing. We're all tired some days, but when you think of it, isn't a chimichanga just a big hunk of love-in-meat on a colorful plate? (Seriously though--she said you were invalidating her existence over throwaway chimi-chat?)
  24. I agree on the buzzwords. I'm much more traditional--you sound like you were kind of a dick to your sister-in-law, and being 'tired' sounds like you're making an excuse for uncivil behavior. Whether vegetarian or a faux-soy-sister-chimi-chomping-meat-lover-on-the-sly, what business is it of yours? Be kind--that's what's really cool.
  25. I always liked that word for some reason. Whatever indeed, my socialist friend!
