Saving the special teams firing for the next defensive debacle.

I like Sal on the morning show but can’t deal with him talking to himself on his own show. And now with Joe on there with him, it’s even worse. Joe will say words for 90 seconds hoping there’s 10 seconds of coherent thought worth commenting on.

And there is definitely the perception that the timing of the firing covered over another defensive let down at the end and an embarrassing special teams penalty. I think that is more of what people were critical of, as opposed to scapegoating. Dorsey had too much pressure on him for his firing to be a “scapegoating” situation. But it does take some pressure off McDermott and Smiley.

Will be very telling to see which head coach has their team ready to win this week. Both teams are head cases right now.

Both can be true though. A case can be made that Dorsey wasn’t working out and needed to go. A case can also be made that McDermott needed to do SOMETHING to turn the tide, or else the failure to do so could and should put his job in jeopardy. Anytime someone gets fired it’s because their boss is trying to preserve their own standing/job.

Reading about these horrible losses, most of which I was in attendance for, is triggering my BBFS.

Just like sitting on the bench after a turnover lit a fire under James Cook, putting Dorsey in permanent time out will light a fire under Josh.

Having a temper is one thing. Being energetic, upbeat and inspiring is another. Daboll was described as a ball buster and very engaging. Sal also said Joe Brady is more like Daboll than Dorsey and is a very engaging guy.

I listened this morning and thought he had an interesting insight about Josh’s mental/emotional state. Sal compared Daboll’s personality to Dorsey’s and suggested the whole offense has taken on Dorsey’s flat-line emotional state, as opposed to Daboll’s firey personality. It make a lot of sense and is the first logical thing I’ve heard that explains Josh’s change in demeanor.

And they made him go up into the booth because of that.

I heard the stat too and am having a hard time remembering when the Bills had the lead for any length of time since the Miami game

McDermott talked about this in his press conference today. He got a question about him being shown on TV yelling as Josh came off the field. He said sometimes you have to use “tough love”. Huh? Is Josh that emotionally weak that he can’t be slapped upside the head and asked WTF are you doing?

I’ve been pounding the table about the damn train horn. It totally ruins Josh’s low positive.

The Bills need to fire that psychologist chick that’s always on the sidelines. She’s proven to be not good at her job.
