This is where we will disagree. Problem is he has kept same people for all 3 years, has gone backwards..and those are the guys who are holding this team back. Not the Jacks and Skinners of the world, its the "middle class" the Sabres have whiffed on... Agreed? thats kinda funny!!!! and who is responsible for that? how do you know this? Why not clear the decks this year then? Bills traded guys they did not want here, no matter the impact to record and cap situation , Botteril has kept seemingly every player since he has been here sans ROR and Beuilieu..both doing swimmingly since he has traded them. Maybe I be missing something, but we will have no ammo for trades correct? So we talking FA? I have not done enough work, maybe some players that will need to offloaded from other teams cause they have bad contracts and cant fit anymore, but those are usually just that, guys on bad contracts. So you really think Bots sold the Pegulas he needed to waste 3 years of prime Eichel years to field a competitive team..not championship mind you, just competitive. Be like a new coach coming into the Bills last year and saying i know you spent all this draft capital to draft Allen,and threw 2 years away to make sure you got him(sabres tank), and you have him on a market inefficient deal, but i need 3 years to put enough people around him to make the playoffs. I know that adds up to 6 wasted years, and no other team needs to do that, but in Buffalo thats whats needed!! No freaking way. Ain't buyin it I agree 100% that maybe this was all not on Housley( dont get me started on Ralph making some of the same mistakes), but then that means the GM stinks too.

but he is the guy who has kept Larry, and Girgs, and McCabe, and Scandella, and Erod, and Sobotka..that is why you have no cap room, its not the big contracts, those guys are working out! I am guessing the other guys mentioned above total a good $12-14M...thats a lot of cap room and a lot of ability to maneuver. I know i am being simplistic, but he put himself into this corner, he does not get to use it as an excuse why he cant make trades/improve the team.

They have yet to reach a point total above either of GMTMs seasons...and sure as poop don't look like they will do it this year without a major shakeup/trade. But as i said yesterday, his actions sure appear to those of someone who has been promised year 4 no matter how bad year 3 is... And if he crys about being near/over the cap and that limits his ability to make moves, i am going to go freaking ballistic. His because of his inactivity and dumb moves they are near the cap..his..not GMTMs!

And he is expecting different results 2)9 freaking D men, and 9 freaking Forwards..criminal 3) At worst, 2nd best LHD in the organiztion is rotting away in Rochester while Rome burns cause no room up in the NHL.(.and they emphasize this is a 24 year old player, not 18) 4) Rochester contributions being made by vets, prospect group no better than what he inherited from GMTM( i think Joki has been a great pickup, they do not mention him) 5) Not one player really outplaying their contract.. 6) Why would you trust this guy to keep making moves.... 7) Inactivity has to be because he is promised 20-21 ? Risto value just keeps decreasing..same minutes, taken of PP1... 9) Looks like D are so focused on D, taking awy the offensive abilities of guys like Dahlin and Joki

So big story in The Athletic Johnny Hockey May need to be traded. Anyone think we got the ammo to get that done? Two more years after this year left at $6.75. Risto +Sammy make sense? I must admit i don’t know the Flames well, no idea if they need D help. Any ideas out there?

Man, on the play where the Dolphins got caught with the late change and called for 12 men, McD had his challenge flag out and I thought he was gunna challenge a non PI call, and I was incredulous he was gunna challenge that. Him being smarter than me, he was actually going to challenge number of players on field !
