  1. If someone had told you that the Cards would put up 9, 5, 4, and 2* in games 1-4 of the world series..... Would you think they were talking about RUNS or HITS? stunning. Give credit to Schilling, Pedro and Lowe....dominating performances. *through 7 innings....go ahead Cards get another hit to f*ck this post up
  2. "There was no way the Sox were gonna lose to a team with as little talent as the Cardinals." Birds ran into a fuggin buzz saw. I don't think anyone could have knocked off the Sox they way they are playing.
  3. You have got to be kidding me. I can't believe people who are still blaming Moulds! He has been by far the biggest contributor to this team (maybe barring Moorman). Those two "dropped TDs", well one of them was way behind him and he almost made another spectacular one handed catch (if you were watching that would have been the second of the drive). The other one was tipped my McAllister and Moulds STILL made a decent play on it while he was in mid-air. He's had his troubles but damn reserve the blame for those who have screwed up repeatedly and done nothing to contribute.
  4. I believe we can definitely win this game tomorrow (or later today as the case may be). Heres how we will do it: 1. Hold the lines We protected Drew VERY well last week and the phins pass rush is nothing to scoff at. All of a sudden he looked very comfortable throwing the ball, he even made a nice side-step to avoid Thomas and took off running for an 11 yd gain (which is about a mile and a half with his speed). We also ran the ball very effectively and came up with big runs when we needed them. This was against one of the best rushing defenses in the game. Maybe it was Willis, maybe it was our lineman, maybe we just got lucky but whatever it was, I believe we can do it again. Defensively Jamal is not playing and f#ck Chester and his avg. We haven't given up 100 yet and we will not let another backup chew us up. Unfortunately, I don't see us putting too much pressure on Boller straight up. Schobel will be locked up with Ogden so that puts the onus on Denney/Kelsay since our DTs are not allowed to cross the line of scrimmage. We should see some LB blitzes early and often, ESPECIALLY if Heap does not play. Boller can be easily rattled and he will make mistakes....which leads me to point #2. 2. Ballhawk Somethings in sports are just givens....David Ortiz will hit clutch HRs, Boston College will find some way to beat Notre Dame, especially when it counts for us :I starred in Brokeback Mountain: :I starred in Brokeback Mountain: :I starred in Brokeback Mountain: , and Kyle Boller WILL throw picks. Especially with Milloy back we need to get the ball from this guy. Our offense is gonna need every extra possession and every yard of field position they can get. I say concentrate on shutting down the run early and then tee off. Get our guys in his face, even if they don't sack him, a few knockdowns or hurries will cause that one errant throw we might need....and when it does happen, catch the f*ckin ball Nate (yes, Nate you....when did you become Thomas Smith??) We don't cause any TOs, we don't win this game. Period. 3. The Penalties I think this is gonna be the hardest to accomplish. We need to be disciplined. If we turn 3rd and 3s into 3rd and 8s or 13s, its gonna be a long day. The good news is the team seems to be getting better at this and maybe our streak of safety PIs will end with Milloy back. Bottom line guys and gals, a few weeks ago I saw KC rip the ravens all-world D a new @sshole. I know, I know...our offense is not in the same league but we can have similar success by doing some of the things they did. We held our own against a formidable defense, in bad weather, with an injured O-line and a backup RB last week. We can do this and we will. On a side note, im sure this was discussed but Marino was hilarious this week on Inside the NFL. "Jim Kelly is the governer of Buffalo"....very nice Dan....keep up the good work. And again, :I starred in Brokeback Mountain: :I starred in Brokeback Mountain: :I starred in Brokeback Mountain: BC. peace goodnight Bart
  5. Start with Drew.....very, very nice play today. Missed some passes (the 1st bomb to Evans and Zach Thomas's should-have-been INT), but for the most part he looked very good. He was moving around in the pocket very well, only took one sack. He made some sweet throws downfield and he even RAN 10 yds for a 1st down (that holding call on Campbell was complete horsesh*t). Willis: What a stiff arm! Big and powerful and grinded out some key gains. Amazing how he can shift from speed burner to power runner MID-play. All in all great win, except for the lack of run-stopping. Sammy ate us up in the 1st half. And once again, our MVP, Brian Moorman.....47 yd punt INTO the wind. Right when we needed it too. GO BILLS!! Bart
  6. Well in those terms, I think our team is totally devoid of sacks...or at least whats supposed to be in em.
  7. Not one player on this team has more than 1 sack. We have allowed 4 different guys to sack Drew more than once in a single game. Game IS won in the trenches. Always has been, always will be.
  8. I can't see mine or anyone else's. Were they taking up too much space? Are they banned until we win a game?
  9. I disagree. I think it is way too early to determine that he will never be starting caliber. I think he has filled in pretty well and with more experience who knows how he will develop. He does seem to have a bit of a nose for the ball. peace
  10. I agree with both of you. Its been a pretty nice season so far this year for us. But the Irish aren't feared anymore, thats the difference. We will be back one day, and it may be one day soon. I just hope PSU is right there with us. peace
  11. I think that this type of losing (ie. constant) is easier to take then the heartbreaks of the 90s. I think when a team loses EVERY WEEK, doesn't show up EVERY WEEK it is kind of like being clubbed in the head. The pain eventually numbs you and you close yourself off. On the other hand losing is SO SO SO much harder to take when it sneaks up behind you and bites you in the @ss. When it lies dormant for a whole season and then returns a fluke trick play for a Kickoff TD. Or when it pops up to push a field goal just 3 feet to the right. THOSE are the losses that break your heart. These ones don't cut as deep IMO. peace
  12. I read that it was MM not DB. Henry said it got them fired up. I disagree with the notion that we have little talent. I think we are a team of underachievers. When this is the case, emotion is sometimes the only thing that can get them the spark to play at their level. peace
  13. It has been totally pathetic and ineffective yet we are on pace to have: -3,000 yd, 20 TD QB -1,000 yd. RB -100+ catch, 1000+ yds, 10+ TD WR -A rookie WR with close to 1000 yds. and well over 20 yds. per catch. On paper that is nothing to scoff at. It just goes to show that stats mean nothing. Its just amazing how they seem to find a way to lose it. I dunno. I think we can turn it around but it would be a lot easier to take I think if it was just a team full of talent-less stiffs. These guys are players. Bring on Sage Rosenfels. IF the D can't stop him, they shoud all be benched. peace
  14. Check out the 2000 draft. But get a bucket first, your gonna puke. 1 26 Erik Flowers DE Arizona St. 2 58 Travares Tillman S Georgia Tech 3 89 Corey Moore OLB Virginia Tech 4 121 Avion Black WR Tennessee St. 5 156 Sammy Morris HB Texas Tech 6 194 Leif Larsen DT Texas-El Paso 7 233 Drew Haddad WR Buffalo 7 251 DaShon Polk OLB Arizona
  15. The Snow Bowl. Its such a disgrace where the two programs are now. Granted we have each had our moments (both should have won titles since then) and some nice runs, but nowhere near the consistent high-caliber level of play that marked the two schools. I will definitely be back to South Bend for that game. Getting tickets shouldnt be a problem, especially if we arent doing well. Too many rich, lazy alumni who dont want to "waste their afternoon" watchin ND. Pathetic. peace
  16. Easy big man....State will get its shot to complete 2/3 of your cycle in 2 years. Being from PA, I root for them as well and I cant wait to get the Lions back on our schedule. It was a great rivalry. I do feel you though...I believe its been over a year since ND and Buffalo won on the same weekend. peace
  17. Never in American history have the rights of our citizens been so eroded. GW told us all to be afraid of terror. A true leader, Franklin D. Roosevelt once told a scared American public "there is nothing to fear but fear itself." A strong leader instills confidence in his followers in order to lead, a weak one instills fear. my .02 Kerry....lesser of two evils. This for me is like voting for Kevin Gilbride or Dan Henning to be Bills OC. peace
  18. I never want that P.O.S. anywhere near our organization. Plus he did a real bang-up job in Miami
  19. Well the GM IS responsible for the personnel he puts on the field. You think TD is just the unluckiest Generel Manager in the league? I feel that Modrak would do a better job (his record in Philly speaks for itself). Maybe it is true that TM would not accept a promotion due to his friendship.
  20. The amount of penalties we were committing in the preseason was the biggest area of concern for me. And it has turned out to be an achilles heal. This team is not so good that they can afford to be sloppy when they have their chances. If we played the exact same offense the last 3 games, but cut out most of the bonehead plays and penalties, we just might be 3-0. peace
  21. Tom Donahoe manages the salary cap about as well as anyone in the league. But he has made some very questionable draft picks and FA signings. He also doesn't seem to have all his priorities straight (e.g. the whole "we'll just find a kicker, um, whenever" strategy). Modrak did an AMAZING job building what was maybe the most talentless team in the NFL 5-6 years ago. He lost the power struggle with Reid (ala TD and Cowher) but he knows how to draft talent, and he knows how to work contracts (the Eagles for many years lead the league, and maybe still do, in smallest amount of dead cap money). I think that perhaps these two men should flip-flop jobs. We will see how this season pans out but I think it will end up with a move like this being needed to be made. My two cents....
