well he's juiced that's sure, like 99,9% of the Tour winners since it has been created. The Tour and the media are trying to make people believe that this was the first clean Tour but a clean Tour is not possible. Landis is juiced just like Armstrong was, just like Indurain, Merkx, Anquetil, Hinault, Bobet were. And frankly i do not care. Those were all great champs, juiced or not and Floyd has won with heart and panache. Great tour Landis!

Beer Snobs (you know who you are)
olivier in france replied to stevestojan's topic in Off the Wall Archives
so you know what to order next time you're in Paris a hot sunny day! "Un demi citron s'il vous plait!" Don't ask for a panaché if its not a classy café, they could serve you a factory-made one that are made with cheap beer and too sweet lemonade. And if you want to try a more original treat go for a Monaco! (made at the bar Panaché with Grenadine syrup) -

In the summer, if you want some real refreshing beers, yes go to some Belgian "Whites" (Bruggs, Hoegarden....) , the mexicans can do the job too (Corona and others.., the Corona being the least tasty)... but what really refreshs is a good old panaché made with any good lager or pils (panaché being beer+ lemonade) , or even better a beer-lemon (just add some lemon syrup or concentrated lemon juice to your beer). -
Socialists - REJOICE!
olivier in france replied to boomerjamhead's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
well Wacka i do not recognise the SF i've seen last year. I've lived in SF for 3 months back in 1992 . Some areas of the city were then really dirty, full of homeless people, especially south of Market and around the City Hall. First time back next year i was surprised, it looked like everything had been "cleaned', outside a few streets around Market , the old Tenderloin ghetto, all the homeless people are gone... SF looks like the safest big city in the US!... But well of course if they don't ask anything to prove residency, well they all gonna come back in a hurry! -
i did not say dollars were enough but they sure help! and i did not say Gore had much brains either...

OK James but how can homeless people prove they're "SF residents"! To be part of this program they'll probably ask the recipients to prove they live in SF with invoices, renting contracts, tax papers.... -

well with the levels of the rents and home prices in SF i doubt some needy people will actually find a way to become residents of San Francisco! In fact the mayor of SF does not take musk risks with this decision... those last 10 years SF has slowly become a big gated community for the wealthy. -
according to your theory Chirac must be a genius, he has won many more elections than GW, you have to add to his two presidential elections 3 elections as major of Paris, a few elections at the parlement ... even her wife as a long time local politician in Correze has won more elections than GW... I don't think it takes lot of brains to have people vote for you, i takes lot of dollars that's sure but brains??
-
i'm not talking about the "coarse" language, i was thinking about GW's deep opinions expressed in that conversation... it's not that he speaks like everybody, i really don't care about the words he uses, it's that it looks like he THINKS like any man picked in the street.

he JSP we love to have fun with Jacques, we do not need your help there! but thanks God, Jacques is not the leader of the Free World... but (why God?! why!) GW is... and sometimes it's scary...
-
well darin you can think this is not an issue but that little story makes the whole world laugh... Frankly i do not think it's good for the USA and even for this world when their more important leader becomes the #1 ridiculised person on earth.

olivier in france replied to stuckincincy's topic in Off the Wall Archives
when you go to the yahoo.com homepage today you have a very nice picture of Scarlett. I don't know why but i find this photo very very sexy. -
I don't know if someone has yet post about it but please all Buffalo fans sign the fixthelogo.com petition so that the Sabres does not become most ridiculous dressed NHL team in history... Bring back the real Blue and Gold !! there's yet more than 11,000 signatures!

Potentially great news for US Soccer...
olivier in france replied to ajzepp's topic in Off the Wall Archives
a good chance he'll be the next US coach that's right as he lives in California. -
you're perfectly right! that's why i do not follow international soccer (clubs play better soccer anyway) or international events like the Tour, the Olympic Games or tennis, the nationalism involved, the media chest thumping, at least here in france makes me sick.
-
Reading the locked "WC thread" i was surprised by all the escuses some are giving to ZZ, come on guys, you're finding him more excuses than the French media!!!!! Trash talk is a part of sport, at least a part of soccer, and Zidane has been provoked in thousands of games, in fact probably in all soccer games he has played since he was 14... and in the most important (and last ) game of his career , in front of about a bilion people around the world he acts like a goon! Sorry Zizou but there's no excuses for that! by the way i'm glad the italians won, a month of chest thumping, nationalism and overreacting (did anything happen in this world outside some german soccer stadiums those last 4 weeks?!!) was enough, i don't think my nerves could have resisted an other national celebration because some french guys had won a bad soccer tournament. (That Italian "World Champion" team 'd probably lost 90 games if they played FC Barcelona 100 times) ...

Talk for yourself... i will not buy anything with that scary logo as i have never bought anything with the red and black colors... OK my old gold and blue jersey and gold and blue jacket both look (very) old but as long as the Sabres have no decent colors and logos i'll wear them...

i'm so upset by those news!! i was expecting something as good as the now famous Celcius designs !! Not this ridiculous Buffalo head!!! We should all do something! let's start a petition !
