  1. Xander (Philly): Is the Bills 12th pick a spot where they should take the best available or can they still address a need?

SportsNation Mel Kiper: I think you have to look at need. You're drafting the best player at a position of need. An Alan Branch could be there. Okoye is one. You could be looking at a CB at some point, perhaps a Leon Hall.

I feel you always draft for need. That is what the draft is for. You 'need' certain positions filled.

  2. As long as Grandpa Al Lewis is the GM of the Buffalo Bills, I do not expect anything other than 1st round DBs, incoherence, senility, and idiocy.

Stop with the childish name calling of Marv - He is not incoherent, senile or an idiot - if you do not like the job he is doing fine, but the personal attacks against him are uncalled for - keep it about football.

  3. At the game. Freaking out.

I remember being able to hear so very clearly the sound of the football against Fred's hand.

Was there also - that sound you heard was a THUD. remember it well - also went on the field after but can't find myself on that famous photo.

  4. Anybody remember the name of the first QB in the video.  #5 who threw the ball to Andre in #46?  Think of it, it'll come to you.

Though I have to say it cracks me up that we all see Andre through rose colored glasses now.  I remember a very large love/hate relationship with Andre and I'm quite sure if this board were in existance in 1995 that'd we'd have killed him for refusing to sign a lucrative extension and generally acting like a primadona.  Coincidentally, he tore his hamstring that year, had to re-sign with us for less money and then played 4 more seasons with us.  Had he stayed healthy that year and walked away for a big money deal I wonder if we'd be seeing him on the Wall of Fame or if he'd be in the pile along with Cornelius Bennett.

  6. I live in the NYC area, and will be stuck with the Devils OLN feed.  Does anyone know if YAHOO.COM will be providing the live feed?

    Any help would be great!!

I know comcast.net will show it.

  7. For one---I think they need YOUNG guys as officials..these guys are way too old--and I am speaking as a 'not so young guy anymore'(late 40s).I think the officials should be very bright(at least 130 IQ)--and preferrably in their early thirties to early 40s.--Enough of these stodgy old fools with slow reflexes out there. This is a billion dollar business----get some real refs out there who are full-timers--and pay them very well.

I understand the need for younger officials and better pay, but I do not understand full-time . What would they be doing from Feb - Jul ?

  8. Anyone ever been to Dave and Busters Sports Bar? They opened one up in williamsville ny and a bunch of us are heading down there for the sabres game and then the Bills game. I guess they have a bunch of plasma tvs.

Just curious if anyone has been to one before.

There is one in Philly - It is great and huge - Where did they build one ?

  9. I am one of those people whose musical tastes are just stuck in the past.  There is a lot of new music which I find ok, some very good, but I am stuck on 70's and 80's music.  Not just the popular hits of the time, but the bands themselves.

So, I am going to see a band called "The Musical Box" at Shea's Peforming Arts Center, Friday at 8:00 pm.  They do old Gabriel Genesis and tickets are $37.50.  $37.50??? Well, screw it, I'm going with a buddy of mine who shares my musical taste.  The opportunity to see this music performed live doesn't come around too often, so I guess I got to grab the opportunity as I love that music.  Lamb Lies Down on Broadway is my all time favorite album.  I know every word, every drum beat.  Lame? OK, I admit it.  A buddy of mine who lives in Cleveland saw them last month and said they were unbelievable.

My friends always kid me ("let it go, MAN").  But I can't!

Anyway, I am in Rochester (Webster) and have never been to Shea's.  Supposedly they have orchestra seats and balcony seats.  Anyone ever been there?  Any good? Anyone know anyone who can get me great seats?...haha

    Thanks,

    Jeff

I have seen the Musical box twice before in Philly and am going on Sat Dec 10th. If you are a Genesis fan of that era it is a must see concert.

  10. Canadian football has its wacky rules. Three downs are dumb. So is the rouge. And the retarded position of the field goal post. And the size of the field and endzones. And the 12th man. But the one thing about Canadian football that I find extremely exciting is overtime. For those that don't know, the way it works is that the teams play a maximum of two mini-games in which each team gets one possession starting from the opponent's 35-yard line. Whoever scores more points in their possession wins the game. After the second mini-game, it's a tie.

I find this is miles (or should I say, kilometres) better than the NFL overtime. There's too much luck in the coin toss in the NFL. I suppose the CFL's overtime is kind of like the football version of a hockey shootout, but it really is more fair than the NFL's.

How about playing another full Qtr and get rid of sudden death?

  11. I've decided to take the plunge and get corrective surgery for my eyes.  Dose anybody have any suggestions about where I should get it done?

I had mine done at LasikPlus over 2 years ago.I had terrible vision with a strong astigmatism.I now have 20/20 vison and no problems.Still do not need reading glasses but that might come soon. This was the best thing I have ever done.I had worn glasses for 37 years and it is an incredible feeling to not have to wear glasses.

Go to a couple of different places. The check up is free.I went to 2 places and they both told me the exact same thing so I felt comfortable.Good Luck.
