  1. Ill go back to this point... When everyone clamored that we HAD TO sign SJ, his immaturity and "quirkiness" or whatever the hell you want to call it was purposely overlooked by the fans and the team. So now we cant get pissed when it comes to light in a way we are uncomfortable with.
  2. Thats a good idea.....
  3. Please go on the same vacation Daniel Pearl did. Where do you live, !@#$er? I live on Long Island. I have been to the funerals. I have friends who were there. Who worked in those buildings. People I know and grew up with died in them. The next day, the train station parking lots were filled with cars from people who would not come home. Then there are people like yourself..who REFUSE to believe ACTUAL EVIDENCE of what took place. Who callously write off EYEWITNESS accounts from people, some right in this thread like Tom, just so you can go on with your "cynic" side that makes you feel "special" and like youre "smarter" than everyone else. Even IF you do have a high IQ, which I doubt, that doesnt make you any less of a total piece of ****. P.S. As far as my life...Im living in a great area and working as a senior manager for one of the best firms in the Country in my field, thankyouverymuch.
  4. And if the Bills lost another Super Bowl on a borderline judgement call flag, youd be committing Hari Kari right about now. The refs are NOT going to throw a flag there unless the receiver gets mugged so bad its indisputable. Will never happen in that situation nor should it. And moreso, the refs were allowing that kind of contact all game. Suddenly, on the last play they are going to change? No way.
  5. Sorry, thats incorrect. Here is the ACTUAL transcript: SJ: "The only time I worked out was my rookie year from after (the) combine, just to get in the league. I went down to L.A. and worked with Travelle Gaines, and ever since then, I've only did work with my wife running around the block and playing basketball. That was all I did." JR: "Why? Do they not insist you have some kind of off-season conditioning program? Throw the weights around?" SJ: I probably shouldn't be saying this. Yeah, they give us the booklet and stuff, but I get it and I put it in a drawer. I really don't do it." JR: "Stevie, you made it through an entire interview without getting into trouble man, until right there, I think." SJ: "I'm sorry, I'm just being honest, man. This year we've got a new staff, and you know, I've had three seasons with a thousand yards, and that's like without doing, like, real football work. So you know, who knows what happens if I really put in work? Maybe I can eclipse a thousand and go into twelve hundred, you know, maybe thirteen. Maybe I'll be even more energized to finish out games, and we'll get things done, you know. So I'm going to be working hard from next Sunday to April 1st when we go back." So they gave him a booklet. Not "binders" representing a formal training program. SJ then goes on to realize that he could do better and plans to change his offseason program to see if it makes a difference.
  6. !@#$ing around with Legos before you go out and get a paper route is hardly "studying."
  7. Again, nobody ever said he plopped on the couch and ate Doritos for two months.
  8. I dont beleive a word youre saying becuase if you are who you say you are, youd have something to say about rest and recuperation.
  9. This is going to be a one and done thing: http://www.nypost.com/p/news/local/ny_nj_plan_for_half_ass_halftime_h2ju81jB7Z75Rw6DyFPvSI?utm_source=SFnewyorkpost&utm_medium=SFnewyorkpost Fine by me.....I think its a lousy idea.
  10. People had the SAME EXACT critique of lilly-WHITE Madonna last year, genius.
  11. With all the info thats come out, from the eyewitness accounts of MILLIONS all the way down the line, thats not good enough for you. Yeah, youre a real !@#$ing cynic. !@#$ing !@#$..... I say this with all sincerity...next time one of these things happen, I hope youre on the flight for a first row seat....you and the rest of your c-sucking piece of **** "cynic" friends. And if I get a posting vacation for writing this, it was worth it...just so I can tell a piece of garbage like yourself to go to hell.
  12. So you can quote "physics" to support your point, but you leave out the "physics" of an 80 ton object hitting each building at over 300 knots. Interesting.
  13. Excuse me....youve done NOTHING but post your own completely uninformed out-of-your-ass opinion in this thread but someone comes back at you and you demand facts and figures? Go back to The View couch, Rose O'Donnell.
  14. That is just factually incorrect. Rest periods are part of ANY training program. For ANY sport. Plusl, he NEVER said he sits on his ass and eats Cheetos and thats OK. And neither did I. How convenient of you to leave out the quotes where he said he realized he could be better and is going to start an offseason program to see if it makes a difference in his preparation. WOW....took THREE SECONDS to Google "workout training rest" to come up with this: http://sportsmedicine.about.com/od/sampleworkouts/a/RestandRecovery.htm Long-term recovery techniques refer to those that are built in to a seasonal training program. Most well-designed training schedules will include recovery days and or weeks that are built into an annual training schedule. This is also the reason athletes and coaches change their training program throughout the year, add crosstraining, modify workouts types, and make changes in intensity, time, distance and all the other training variables.
  15. Thats what Im saying....AS A PROFESSIONAL he had a plan that worked for him. Unless he is blowing off something that his team demanded he do as part of his job, he did nothing wrong. he said the coaches gave him a workout book. What is an "optional" thing or a "mandatory" one? Im guessing the former.
  16. But he went on to say he realizes that the workouts might help so hes going to start doing them. And even when he wasnt doing them, he was the top producer for the team at WR. Its a moot point. And how each athlete prepares sets NO example. They dont care what the others on the team do when they are not with the team. They care about what they do when they are WITH the team. As long as SJ shows up ready to go at workouts and in the meetings and most important, on Sunday, NOT ONE teammate gives a rats petuty what SJ is doing in January and February. You people are !@#$ing funny....when SJ was up for a contract, you all went NUTS about how they HAD TO sign him, DESPITE all his quirks and odd behavior. But now youre all !@#$ing outraged with that behavior?
  17. Some people are gym rats 24/7. Some use the offseason for rest. Some do a little of both. None of the ways in which an athlete approaches "the offseason" means they arent "giving 100%." Johnson is a pro and whatever way he takes care of himself works. End of story. Different "thing" but Stevie Van Zandt doesnt LOOK at a guitar between Springsteen tours. Quick...burn your copies of The Sopranos! But whats the problem here? He said hes going to start an off season program becuase he wants to do even better than he has been. That even though hes been good doing whats hes doing, he thinks hee can do better and is going to take steps to make that happen. Thats a problem?
  18. File under "Who gives a !@#$."
  19. Conspiracy theorists are c-nts.
  20. Nice two lane blacktop in that article. Perfect for riding.
  21. Mindset of most people these days: {I need to be offended today...lets see what I can find}
  22. Ace Rothstein fired dancers from the Tangiers who were too fat. So whats the problem here?
  23. Have you seen the books? How do you come up with this figure? How do you know he didnt try? And how do you know that revenue from naming rights would exceed revenue the Toronto series brought in? Opening up new local revenue streams locally is a ploy to help move the team away from those streams? Huh? Bills season ticket subscruptions from CA are UP from 11% to 20% of total since the series started. Theres also a "rumor" that Rob Johnson is coming back to the Bills. I read it! Figures, please. So "blasphemous" that the NFL team considered the crown jewel of the league had an out of town home game played for over 60 years, INCLUDING playoff games. So the team DOESNT need to remain viable? OK, Chuck.
  24. Yeah.....good luck finding an ownership group looking to shell out a billion dollars for an NFL team and then run it as a non-profit.
  25. Pure opinion...plain and simple... Some FACTS, please.....pulled from Wiki.... The National Football League's Green Bay Packers played two or three home games per year at Milwaukee County Stadium from 1953 to 1994, after using Wisconsin State Fair Park in nearby West Allis and also Marquette Stadium. The Packers compiled a 76–47–3 (.617) mark in 126 regular-season County Stadium contests over 42 seasons. County Stadium hosted at least one pre-season game annually during this time as well (except 1983), including the Upper Midwest Shrine Game. Financial considerations prompted the Packers to move some of their games to Milwaukee starting with the 1933 season. However, by 1995, multiple renovations to Lambeau Field made it more lucrative for the Packers to play their full home slate in Green Bay again for the first time since 1932.[30] Former Milwaukee ticket holders were offered tickets at Lambeau to one pre-season game and games 2 and 5 of the regular season schedule, in what is referred to as the "Gold package." The Minnesota Vikings (15 times) were the Packers' most frequent foe at County Stadium, as the Packers would traditionally host at least one divisional rival from the NFC Central in Milwaukee each season. Only once, however, did the Packers play their ancient arch-rivals, the Chicago Bears, in Milwaukee, defeating the Bears 20–3 in 1974. On November 26, 1989, a County Stadium record crowd of 55,892 saw the Packers beat the Vikings, 20–19.[31] The Packers' final game at County Stadium was a 21–17 victory over the Atlanta Falcons on December 18, 1994; with fourteen seconds left, the winning 9-yard touchdown run was scored by quarterback Brett Favre. Coincidentally, Atlanta was Favre's first NFL address in 1991, and the city to which the baseball Braves moved almost three decades earlier. The Packers also hosted one NFL playoff game at County Stadium, the December 23, 1967 Western Conference Championship against the Los Angeles Rams.[32] By beating the Rams 28–7, the Packers would face the Dallas Cowboys in the famed Ice Bowl at Lambeau 8 days later.
