I thought Sabres cut him because he sucked?
-
He did address it. Pharma makes their profits in the US markets, and the rest of the world benefits. That's why they're not pushing generics to the docs. For all the anti-trade talk that Trump has been peddling, the one thing he should stand firm on is an end to US subsidizing the wealthy countries' medicines. If they love their nationalized health care so much, they should pay the same prices that US pays.

Yup, that's the one.

No, the one that told old Europe to lay its hands off an entire hemisphere.

I was thinking of the one that invaded their neighbors and took over the land.

Which ideals and principles are those - the mythical ones that inspire stories, or the true ones where a bunch of wealthy land owners got tired of an overlord taking away their ability to trade, manufacture goods and conduct commerce?

Think it's a coincidence that HRC decided to run from the Chapaqua hiking trails to highly public appearances this week?

Where have we heard this before?

Say what? There wasn't a single rumor out there over the last two years that Rex & Whaley differed in their strategy?

Note that you've highlighted Whaley's visible personnel decisions, which most people agree is his strong suit. But the loud knock on him that's coming out now is his deficiency on the other parts of being the GM, which is more than just fielding the 53 man squad for the upcoming season. That role encompasses the full component of the football operation from players, admin & support staff and interactions with the coaches. When you hear talk of friction across two coaching staffs, it's no wonder that McD requested a clean slate.

I have to give a lot of credit to Obama's & Schiff's disinformation campaign to a gullible audience that now believes that the most important issues in healthcare are universal coverage and pre-existing conditions, which can all happen and can be paid for with minimal changes to tax structure or type and quality of care. Good job. I blame the GOP for not seizing on a golden opportunity to recast the debate and keep hammering away that you can't have universal coverage and keep the doctor that you like. That should have accompanied every statement about Obamacare repeal. Most people don't understand what happens to complex insurance regulations, they don't understand when insurers exit the marketplaces. They do understand when their family doctor tells them they won't accept them starting next year. They will understand when they'll have to go to a clinic instead of a doctor's office.

What are you taking about. Whaley is straight out of central casting young GM. -

Check Vogl's Twitter. Plane landed but no one recognizable -
Hate to get technical on you, but you cannot get a pre-existing condition. Your son contracted the condition at 4, at which time he was covered by insurance, which will continue to cover you. It becomes a pre-existing condition after the fact. Same in your case. The GOP argument about pre-existing conditions is against people who roll the dice by not getting insurance when they're healthy, then getting sick and demanding that insurance carriers pick up coverage.

But things are coming more clear in retrospect, especially the Marrone quitting fiasco. Pegulas didn't come into the ownership blindly. They had a lot of input from Polian, Todd France, etc on the outsiders' views of Bills management. Marrone's known quibbles with Whaley, and Polian's refusal to come back to the Bills didn't help Whaley's case in Pegula's eyes. Obviously, Pegula should have made the GM move at that time, instead of thinking that Whaley would grow on him. in the end, Whaley proved to be what his critics said he was - a good personnel man, but a middling GM. -
This is the part that burns up people who understand the difference between health insurance and healthcare. It's idiotic to mandate that insurance carriers take on somebody new with a pre existing condition. That's why insurance portability is an important feature. If you carried insurance in one place while you were healthy, then got sick and had to move, it wouldn't be fair to lose that coverage because you've been paying for that risk all along. On the healthcare side of things, there's already an existing system that provides for people who are uninsured or underinsured, it's called Medicaid.

I agree with that. I think he's been the best talent evaluator this franchise has had in a long time. But when you look at the collection of the players, there doesn't seem to be an overarching strategy. A big part of course is the coaching turnover, but that's also contributed to his demise. Other than Cleveland few franchises go through the lather rinse repeat players cycles like the Bills. Very good players should prosper in any scheme.
