  1. It was my youngest sons license that we were trying to renew here in South Florida. We arrived at the MDV to renew his license and low and behold we didn't have the proper documentation. We had his present license, his, (homeland security required and issued draft card which has his social security number on it), voters registration card, student ID, etc. However we were told that we needed, (as of 01-01-10) his passport, his original birth certificate, mail that verified his permanent address, (he's a student so I took mail from our house including electric and phone bills in my name because some of the mail from his University came in care of me), and most important of all, HIS ORIGINAL SOCIAL SECURITY CARD. We had a problem because his original soc. sec. was in his desk in school because he was afraid of identity theft. To make a long story short, they said that a W2, or a pay stub would fill the requirement. My argument was that if a W2 or a pay stub issued by an employer can sub for a soc. sec. card, why wouldn't a selective service card with his soc.sec. number sufise? They sympathized but couldn't accept his selective service card which includes his soc. sec., issued by the Department of Homeland Security, because the dept. of Homeland Security does not consider that as a valid representation of his social security number, (by ther way they mentioned that a guy came in with his military i.d and they couldn't accet it either). What is wrong with picture? We have his present licence, just want to renew. We have an original birth certificate, (my God it shows that he was born in Plantation General Hospital here in South Florida). We have a valid passport, we have mail showing his address, we have his selective service card with his soc. sec. on it and still the DMV had to reject because his original soc. sec. card is up in Orlando in a safe deposit because he thought he had to protect it. The Social Security Admin. is trying to issue a temporary card to help people who can't find their card and the DMV told me they can't even accept that. We are o.k. because he has 10 months to renew still, but what about the guy who needs to renw now? What happens when the police pull him over for a fualty muffler, or busted taillight and he's trying to prove to "Homeland Security" that he's worthy of renewing his license. My question is, if they are working this hard to make certain that a terrorist cannot get U.S i.d., how the hell did that idiot by a one way ticket, cash, board with no luggage, keep his U.S. visa, etc. and try to blow up a plane over Detroit? Why can't a U.S. citizen renew his drivers license?
  2. How does this compare to the Japanese a decade or so ago? They were buying up real estate, bonds, etc. and then they had to divest. Is there a reason to compare, or is this a unique situation?
  3. What about Oklahoma City? You don't think that AQ, etc. has studied that? MidAmerica, small city, no international ramifications, on the face of it, however for America it was big time and that made it international as anything that happens here resonates. Just a thought.
  4. I couldn't agree more. I was so pissed off when they didn't challenge the fumble. The guys I was with were saying, we need to save the TO's for the offense to get a field goal and either win or tie the game. I said that TO's are for the defense because the offense has ways to stop the clock, the Defense doesn't, (unless they stop the opposing team which we have a history of not being able to do). In the end I made a gentlemans bet with the others that we would get the ball back after a TD and under a minute left on the clock. Also part of the bet was how many TO's we would still have when the final bell rang. I said, (because I was p.o.ed and recent history also we woudl have 2). Challenging the fumble might have gotten us the ball, but at least (and honestly more likely), it would have given us at least 30 seconds more on the clock when we got the ball back. As it was we had to hurry, spent our TO's and ended the game with the TO we would have lost if we lost the challenge. Our defense is o.k., (actually I thought they played a hell of a game), but to make them stop Jacksonville on that last drive was a repeat of every fourth quarter loss this year. Somebody has got to step up and get agressive in the fourth quarter. For three it was refreshing but in the fourth we seemed to revert back to the same old conservative, prevent (us from winning) plan that has been this teams signature for a number of years.
  5. My youngest is at UCF and has a ticket for Sunday in Jacksonville, but not a ride. If anybody is going up on Sunday morning, (any hour), and returning Sunday, (any hour), let me know. If not we're checking Bus and Train schedules. Not a biggie but my boys were born and bred in SOFLO, and went through years of hassles in school growing up, but they love the Bills and go to every game they can. He will be back home for next Sundays game either way. btw, he turned 21 this past October so tailgating won't be a problem. Sorry, PM me and I'll get the contact info to him.
  6. Unfortunately, you missed the point, but then again..... (Unfurtunetly ue messed th pouinte!!!) Cheers!!
  7. If they had a clue or any knowledge beyond the right wing rhetoric maybe they wouldn't be labeled as such, however they have demonstrated themselves as having niether any itelect or understanding of the great challenges that face our country today. Instead of working with a President who ran on, and (in my opinion) to his own detriment, has looked for bipartisan support, the conservatives, (call them what you may), have attacked him time and time again for nothing but political gain.
  8. Me to, I wouldn't vote for her, buy or ask her to sign her book, but I'd hit it.
  9. Wow sounds like a guy who couldn't even spell Afghanistan who, declared a war on terrorism, but then when it was going to get difficult, (chase the bad guys into Tora Bora, or maybe even a worse scenario), blew it!!! I'll take Barack over the monkey that we had before. By the way I'm loving how his suragates are churning up the water lately.
  10. Here here, my sentiments exactly. They want a Coach, get a Coach. If they want a GM get a GM, but not both. Another one that failed miserably was Joe Gibbs in Washington. In todays NFL it's too complicated to take on both hats, and those that try are bound to fail.
  11. Fair enough, I was not trying to stand up for our OL, they suck but their young. I was just trying to point out that I disagree on your point about TE. When you have an OL that can't protect consistently the QB has to have a plan and move accordingly. TE doesn't seem to be able to do that, Fitz does. I have never had much confidence in TE and I am curious about his last series on Sunday last. Fitz is not the answer for the Bills but a QB that will not, or cannot, execute has to sit. When the receivers and the Coaching staff seem to be in agreement, it's time to face reality. Cheers
  12. Sorry but Fitz did not get his butt kicked regularly "...behind one of the weakest lines in the NFL..." He rolled out, threw some, (I'm being generous here), off target passes, but kept trying to move the ball down the field. TE's, (not a bad person mind you), doesn't have that quick read and decision making ability. He reminds me of Tom Cruise in Top Gun, " ...nah it's no good, I'm breaking off..." attitude. You have over 15 million dollars invested in two WR's, who have the ability to score multiple TD's per game and they get little if anything from TE. Not blaming him completely but it seemed pretty evident to me last game that somebody said, do not check down, throw the damned ball to a wide out. In a self fulfilling prophesy, he threw two ducks and finally the pick six. See what happens when you force me to throw when I'm not comfy??!!! As for your last statement, A. Rogers from Green Bay has been consistently sacked, and is on track to be sacked for a record this year due to his OL, but he seems to find ways to get rid of the ball or throw to the receiver enough that they are winning. You can continue to make excuses for TE if you like, but honestly you are beginning to sound like a JP apologist at this point.
  13. Oink, Oink!!! Another good one I enjoyed the laugh.
  14. Which begs the question, with the plethora of DB'S that we have drafted over the past few years, why didn't we take him out and plug in another one?
  15. I really don't see the problem as i never realized that a player having a snack on the sidlines was a big deal. I saw Sanchez in the press conference saying it would never happen again. I really and truly hope that was a tongue in cheek response to a completely irrelevant question.
  16. Thanks Bill that make sense. The kids will get better and if, big if, Bell builds on his strength he can go along with them because he is athletic. If not then we have to address this position in the draft or F/A next year. I really like the future of our interior as well and hope the perimiters improve or get addressed.
  17. No argument there, Fitz is not accurate all, but I must say that as long as Edwards is going to wait until his receiver is completely open before he throws, (with the result of him being sacked or checking down on or behind the LOS), I'll go with the inaccurate thrower that lets his multi-million dollar receivers make a play or not.
  18. Iagree, thanks Astro for the mock. I also agree with you Bill that we really need to beef up the OL and continue the work that finally began with this past draft. However, if by some miracle Suh is still on the board when we draft we must take him. He could be our next Bruce Smith. OL or DL that must be our priority, then LB and finally QB. We have DB's, we have RB's, we have WR's. We need DL, OL, LB and QB in that order (interchange the DL and OL depending on availability).
  19. No offense but this forum has got to stop excusing Trent's limitted abilities by blaming the HC. Jauron is no Lombardi, but blaming him for the constant checkdowns by his starter won't wash anymore, especially after we saw Fitzpatrick throw the ball on time, down the field, and in the pattern last week. Although Fitzpatrick aint the most accurate passer, at least he did what he was supposed to do, throw the damend ball when and in the vicinity of where he was supposed to. Trent may be as smart, he may have as good an arm, but he doesn't have the confidence to throw the damned ball. In the first series that Fitzpatrick was in last week he looked horrible, throwing the ball behind or under receivers, etc. but I liked seeing a QB try to execute the play as designed, not try to not commit an error. Many have saying all week long that the Jets were foolish to continue letting, (making), Sanchez throw the ball, but in the long run he'll be better off for it because they showed confidence in his ability. All the truly great ones, including P. Manning, J. Kelly, B. Favre, S. Young, etc. went through a rough period, but they kept throwing they ball without fear. This kid Fitzpatrck came into the game cold, was given a play and threw the damned ball. It wasn't on target often but it was time. As the game went on the receivers began to adjust to a QB that threw the ball when he was supposed to and although only a couple were really accurate, the slant to L. Evans and the reversal to Evans in OT, the receivers actually began to catch the ball. They began to realize that even though they might be covered to some extent, the ball could still be coming because the QB had more confidence on in them than he had in the DB(s) defending. That, IMHO, is the difference between TE and a starting QB in this league, not the fact that the coaching staff is lacking.
  20. I have no problem with the Pats* running up the score, that's between them and the other players in the league, eventually they will get theirs. What I don't get is the special treatment that Brady gets, while other QB's, including Favre got their clocks cleaned this past weekend, nobody can sneeze whithin 5 yds. of Brady without a flag and now a fine.
  21. Funny, although I will agree there were some really pretty throws in the Giants Saints game, I also saw throws that were close but behind, or over the shoulder, etc. thrown and the WR's went after it and got it. Those QB's aren't waiting for the WR to be completely open, they throw the ball before the WR even makes his break, and then the multi-million dollar receiver goes and gets the damned ball. No sack, big plays, and no checkdown, even with a blitz. What a concept throw the ball and let the receiver do his job!?!
