  1. Please explain this one. Who's replacing Hughes who's a slight drop in talent compared to him? I don't get fans with this mindset. They have the best defense in the league and some fans have no problem messing with it by not signing a key player like Hughes for 10 million dollars per year. As if it's no big deal that the defense will no longer be as good. As if getting a top guard is worth that kind of trade off. Crazy talk IMO. The other AFC East teams are begging for the Bills to not sign Hughes. Do Bills fans really care about this? When you play on the edge you are going to get some flags. Do you think Steeler fans wanted James Harrison gone because he had a lot of flags thrown on him?
  2. Bills Defense Rankings 2012 (pre Jerry Hughes): 26th pts / 22nd yds 2013: 20th pts / 10th yds 2014: 4th pts / 4th yds The Bills will severely regret letting Jerry Hughes get away. You don't hire Rex Ryan as your head coach and then let a player as intimidating, productive and versatile as Hughes leave. Overpay by a couple of million if you have to, just get it done because Rex Ryan's defenses were no longer good enough to get them in the playoffs or even a winning record when he started losing his best defensive players.
  3. I didn't know that people were still wondering if he was innocent or not. It's silly to even debate it anymore. It's scary how so many people wanted to believe any excuse that was trotted out there or even still now feel that they need to wait on the investigation findings. The Pats balls were deflated and the Colts balls were not. They are guilty based on those 2 simple facts, no investigation needed. Suspend Brady and Belichick for the first two games next year and take away their 1st round pick. In 2015, either let all QBs do whatever they want to footballs including PSI amount or both teams play with the same 12 balls inflated at the same PSI. Let the player union put it to a vote.
  4. That was the week after the Bills suffered a devastating loss in Toronto to the Falcons. A game where both Stevie Johnson and Scott Chandler dropped easy passes from EJ Manuel that would have sealed the win and kept them in the running for the playoffs. He actually outplayed Matt Ryan. A lot of the EJ haters like to forget how he played in that game. Check out the win probability chart in that game... http://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxscores/201312010buf.htm That entire Bills team did not show up in Tampa. If either Johnson or Chandler catches one of those passes, they beat the Falcons and I think they would have beat Tampa the next week.
  5. You're missing the point. Perception matters. You can't be a hard @ss to Lynch and then put yourself in compromising positions like going to Kraft's house, getting your picture taken and looking like lifelong buddies. Goodell and Kraft are just a couple of boobs who probably believed in Belichick's promise not to cheat anymore. Goodell just has a severe lack of common sense when it comes to his job.
  6. Yes, how dare the Bills not know the future superstardom of a 5'11" 198 lb WR with only 12 TDs in college who had a question mark on whether he'd ever become a true #1. That's the funny thing about the draft, they don't tell who the future superstars are going to be. If they did, Russell Wilson would have been picked by the Redskins over RGIII, JJ Watt would have gone to the Broncos over Miller, and on and on and on... When I saw Beckham's videos, he looked like a better version of Stevie Johnson. A WR with the same size and route running style but with better hands than a WR already on our roster. IMO he was never in the conversation at OBD because of this and thats why they were looking at Ebron.
  7. I predicted that idiot Goodell was going to face this and even mentioned the photo of him and Kraft at Kraft's house party the night before the AFC Championship game. Goodell deserves it. He's tough as nails with Marhsawn, but kid gloves with Tommy golden boy and his good buddy Kraft. After spygate, the non-suspension of Belichick was a total joke as was the destroying of evidence. Sherman knows that there are different rules for the Patriots than there are for the rest of the league. I'm glad Goodell's being called out. He's a joke and he shouldn't be the commissioner. I don't know why the other owners are so committed to him when they get no favoritism like Kraft does. What's awesome is that Goodell can't tell the refs to fix the game for the Patriots because he'll look 10 times worse if they do win the game...LOL
  8. For all of the apologists, there was a reason they were deflating the balls. They weren't doing it for !@#%s and giggles. There was a clear and calculable advantage, even if it was a small one. They always say that football is a game of inches. I think that Brady's grip wasn't what it used to be and deflating the balls also helps out with the rate of fumbling. In the end, they will never get their credibility back in the public. It's ironic how "cutting corners" with something as small as 2 PSIs in a football can take down something as big as a 15 year NFL dynasty.
  9. What's out of proportion is the Patriots huge gap in plays per fumble compared to the rest of the league. PEDs are not considered a "slap on the wrist" infraction and PEDs (Performance Enhancing Deflations) should not be either. Seems both greatly improve player performances and both should be considered cheating. Your continued downplaying of this is astounding. They've clearly been doing this for a long time so this is a big deal. Unless the credibility of the NFL is of no concern to you.
  10. I think it's some sort of macho thing going on with these people. I get the feeling that think that it isn't macho to complain about the cheating, it should be down played it, and teams need to quit whining and overcome it anyways. So coming from that "tough guy" perspective, eye popping and obvious proof of cheating that you have pointed out will be disregarded. The irony is that they're in the cheaters corner and cheating isn't exactly manly, is it...LOL
  11. I doubt that very much. The Patriots are going to be taken behind the woodshed by the Seahawks in this Superbowl. The defending champs are going to make Brady pay severely after being completely ignored by the country for two weeks. The Patriots "dynasty" probably ended with this scandal. I think there's a chance that Kraft will make major changes after seeing his franchise no longer having any credibility in the eyes of the league and public.
  12. I can totally see Manziel going to Dallas, back home, and being perfectly happy sitting on the bench for a few years behind Romo while parting his @ss off and living large off his college fame while not having to prove anything or get hurt.
  13. Seriously, how does Tony Dungy have a job? I can not take than man seriously. He is such a mushy nothing analyst. First of all, no one cares about the substitution plays right now you clown. Try giving your thoughts about deflate gate. Oh that's right, you refuse to say anything which has a hint of controversy. So Tony, do you think Bill and Tom are lying? "Ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah...well...ah ah ah ah ah ah...I don't know...what I can tell you is that I don't like those substitution plays or Jameis Winstin." In the update of that nothing story, Dungy retracted his statement about telling his players to fake an injury in reaction to the substitution plays. He's about as firm as jello...LOL
  14. Nothing wrong with CJ Spiller if he's used correctly and gets some decent blocking. Unfortunately Marrone could provide him with neither. I'd love to have him back at the right price. Watkins, Spiller and Manuel could provide some real serious misdirection problems with the right play calls. I'd like to keep him a grab an offensive lineman with that 50th pick.
  15. Funny, although he would probably only pretend he's using one...LOL TO and Ocho Cinco put the use of real props out to pasture for good.
  16. Sure to follow is Sherman shouting "You cheatn' bro?!" at Brady all Superbowl long.
  17. There's an "Ivy League" "country club" coverup feel I get with the NFLs handling of all this. Meanwhile Marshawn Lynch is treated as a heathen for trying to wear gold shoes. Sean Payton was doing the devils work way down south in New Orleans.
  18. NFL analysts don't watch Buffalo Bills football. They thought that Doug Marrone was a very good head coach. Watkins is a huge breakout NFL star on the Giants and Beckham is barely reaching 800 yards receiving if they switched teams at the beginning of the season.
  19. Word. Ironic that the refs will probably tilt the playing field towards the Seahawks because the Patriots got caught cheating. The NFL gets a big ol' black eye if the Patriots win. However, it would serve as a nice bookend to the black eye at the beginning of the season.
  20. I highly doubt that footballs will be handled by team representatives ever again on game days.
  21. It was a much different league back then in terms of mass media exposure. IMO the tsunami of negative media coverage (even their local media and fans are turning on them) will be too overwhelming for a Pats team with only two players (?) who have Superbowl rings. Plus the Eagles had never won a Superbowl before and the Seahawks are reigning champs. We shall see.
  22. IMO It's going to be a blowout Superbowl win for the Seahawks whether it's Brady or Garropalo playing QB for the Patriots. This is the biggest distraction ever in a Superbowl and the Pats are a one man team going against a very nasty defense on a team which happens to be defending champions who are getting no publicity at all in this Superbowl. Think Carroll won't use that as a motivational tool? He's going to tell them that Brady has stolen endorsement money from you and your family because of this. Stolen post-football opportunities from them. As far as Gronk goes, the Seahawks know how to bait you in the secondary and they will be able to fool Brady into thinking he's open and grab a couple of interceptions.
  23. When the defense knows the plays you are going to run before you run them and they have no fear of you taking them deep because deep throws are rare as can be and the running backs and offensive line have provided nothing in terms of establishing a running game and the head coach doesn’t want you to take any chances passing the football in tight spaces because he’s beyond frightened of interceptions so all you are left with are check down screens to the running backs and short passes to the wide receivers, what kind of QB play would you expect? Doug Marrone was too much of a coward to let EJ play the way he was drafted in the first round to be played. I’d be shocked if Greg Roman doesn’t greatly improve EJ’s play this year simply by loosening the reigns and letting him run and throw it deep. Do I know that EJ will take that next big step and firmly establish himself as the Bills starter? No, I’m just very happy that he will get a shot to perform in a real NFL offensive system unlike he had with Marrone and Hackett. I think he will get a lot better under Roman. If he doesn't then it's on to the next QB with no regrets.
  24. As Bills fans we don't need to see any tape. We saw a very promising franchise QB career get totally squashed and ruined by the two amateur coaches Marrone and Hackett's ridiculously conservative offense. With Roman as his OC I think that EJ's game will make a huge jump this year, he'll win the starting job easily and have over 30 TDs both passing and running combined. Manuel's going to make a lot of people around here eat their words.
  25. It's shocking that Brady said today he hasn't been contacted by the NFL yet. It's Friday and the game in question was played on Sunday. My jaw literally dropped when he mentioned that in the press conference. The narrative of Goodell providing cover for his buddy Kraft is unavoidable. Does Goodell think that this is going away? Is he that stupid? This week is going to be absolutely crazy and everyone can thank Goodell for it.
