  1. You seem to be the only one drowning in misery as you once again show the incapacity to formulate an argument without insults and put downs. You need to relax a little bit and accept the fact that some Bills fans are not "giddy" with excitement about their chances in '08. I'm a relatively happy person and still think the Bills are blowing it with their decision making. The two are not mutually exclusive.
  2. If the Bills lose that first game against Seattle, they only have 6 out of their last 15 games at home. Not good. That first game's outcome is much bigger than many here think. The Brett Favre to Jets deal reminds me a lot like the Randy Moss to Patriots deal. A lot of Bills fans, including me, were mocking the impact. Then the season started and it was clear that the Bills were in trouble. I can't believe how many fans here are thinking the Bills are going to whip Favre's ass. They haven't whipped the Jets since Losman and McGahee were starters. The Bills will have a lot of trouble beating them in either game this year. That wasn't the case a couple of days ago. Evans not signed. Peters holding out. The Jets show their team and fans that winning now is what they are all about. The Bills show their team how they like to play hardball against their best players on the team, while rewarding averageness the year before. Winning now or in the future is clearly not high on the Buffalo Bills agenda. Not trying to be a johnny downer, I just can't see how so many Bills fans here are so giddy and confident about this team and their chances that they feel like they can mock the Jets today. WTF? Since when have we become world beaters in the last decade? The ONLY thing that they've done is beat bad NFL teams. The only saving grace for the Bills is that they do have an easy schedule, other than that things might not be as cool as you think.
  3. Jason has been a MODEL Buffalo Bill since he's joined the team. Unlike past NFL loudmouth holdouts, he refuses to take his case to the public. How dare you criticize Peters' behavior. You mean breakout the checkbook and write a ton of zeros for a lousy slacker named Chris Kelsay!? A guy that hasn't done sh_t on this team and NEVER lived up to his much hyped potential! If only the Bills had 53 Jason Peters, a player who wasn't even draft and who's performance shot through the roof to the point where he's WIDELY considered the BEST at his position, they'd have no problem beating down the Pats and the rest of the league! So what do the Bills do? How do they operate? They REWARD averageness and slackers with big huge contracts, yet draw the hard line on the one guy that DESERVES THE MONEY! The ONLY message being sent to the players is that hard work and off the charts performance will get you the SHAFT. I now think that the Bills front office is dumber than their stupid head coach. Why don't you get all angry about Kelsays' slacker behavior on gameday?! That of course doesn't rile you up at all. The Bills did this to themselves, they are the ones who created this "circumstance" by their p_ss poor checkbook decisions.
  4. Hey we have to agree on some things Bills related, right? I didn't even think of that Edwards angle, boy are they setting their young QB up for a huge beatdown this year. Losman's probably in on it!
  5. Precedent? Have you ever heard of the term "exception to the rule"? Jason Peters is the ONLY Bills player that can do this because he is irreplaceable. Don't you think the Bills put THEMSELVES in a bad position here? By giving Kelsay that huge contract? Schobel a huge raise? Walker and Dockery huge bucks? Why is Peters the one they decide to go cheap on? The Bills sheepishly think that since they upped his pay a couple of years ago that he should honor it in the face of other Bills players, who are no where near Peters' talent, getting very rich. This is where they decide to save cap money. What the Bills are doing is shameful, bush league and small minded. Stupid? Sorry, but Jason Peters is a VERY smart man. He's not playing games with the Bills and going to pretend he isn't getting a major shaft job. He KNOWS he is indispensable and VASTLY underpaid. As for other Bills players doing this, who exactly is that? I see no one that can get away with that strategy other than Peters. Stupid man? Hardly. The Bills set up this scenario and created this situation. I'm in Peters' corner and I'm glad he's giving these ingrates the middle finger.
  6. Simms might eventually get in because he's a New York hero, was rock solid for the Giants back when the league was a whole lot tougher than it is today and had an off-the-charts Superbowl. I don't have much of a problem with Phil Simms. However I think you're way off on Esiason, McMair and Humphries. I don't see any of them as Hall of Famers. At QB you need "something" to hang your hat on that gets you in and none of them have that "something".
  7. Drew Bledsoe is not going to the Hall of Fame. He was very good is his day, but not good enough to warrant HOF induction.
  8. Your opinion of Cleveland is much too inflated. While they played well and were the surprise team last season, they had a horrible defense and got to play many easy teams like the Dolphins, Jets, Raiders, 49ers, and both the Ravens and Bengals twice. Schedule has a lot to do with who makes the playoffs in the AFC. To me, Cleveland is an overrated team right now that I don't even think makes the playoffs. They get to have fun playing teams like Dallas, NYG and the Eagles like we did last year. Roll on us? If that does happen, Jauron may not make it out of the parking lot.
  9. All our young "stars" are a year older and hopefully wiser...Whitner, Poz, Lynch, Jackson, Edwards. You add that with the solid veterans like Evans, Schobel, Stroud, Crowell, Peters, Dockery, Parrish, Reed, McGee and Greer. Add the promising McKelvin and Hardy pickups. We also have one of the best punters, a solid kicker. Did I mention a cake schedule? The ONLY thing that should hold the Bills back from a wildcard playoff spot is the coaching staff. Now I know you don't want to hear that, being the diehard supporter of Jauron that you are, but you will find it very hard to find many other Bills fans to disagree with my assessment that they should be expected to make some serious waves in '08. If Jauron is as good as you think he is, than a wildcard should almost be a lock with the schedule that they have.
  10. I wasn't saying that I don't think they will make the playoffs. I really don't like trying to predict what my favorite team will do. I will say that I think that they have the talent to make the playoffs and put a scare in the big boys of the AFC, but I'll just watch them and leave the predicting to others this year. It's a make or break season for Jauron, I will say that.
  11. But the Jets did make the playoffs two years ago and it looks like Pennington is back to being fully healthy again (add to that the easy schedule which they did take advantage of two years ago). So at least that is a team that has done something of note recently. The Bills have become the Lions of the AFC. Every year they say THIS is the year and every year they disappoint. I have no problems with anybody that thinks they are full of it. The Bills need to do something special to get positive press again. They need to actually make the playoffs. I'm surprised at how many experts have gone out on a limb and say they're the surprise team in '08. Many, including Peter King, have been burned by the Bills hype before.
  12. Seriously, how mad can you get at Marshall when this team hasn't made the playoffs in eight years. I used to get upset at this type of stuff, but until the Buffalo Bills actually do something of note, on the field, when it counts, against a good NFL team then Marshall and all the other doubters can say whatever they want. And arguing about who's better us or the Jets is just plain silly. Getting past the Pats and winning the AFC East is the goal. Not being better than the lousy Jets. If they're not better than the Jets in '08 then the Bills should go back to the drawing board and start over with a new head coach, coaching staff and get rid of the slacker players anyways.
  13. So you're suggesting that Jauron just start cheating? Seriously, I think that Jauron has zero skills in making critical adjustments. Belichick learned long ago that it's not good not stick with something that's not working. Dick either let Fairchild alone or had a major roll in that putridly predictable and historically bad offense last year. Either way it's bad coaching. The lack of change in tactic was inexcusable and unfortunately very much par for the course for a Jauron led team. But for those that think he's going to be the next Belichick, when does the winning start to kick in? This year? His ninth? Tenth season as an NFL head coach?
  14. Maybe it's who they hired and not when they were fired or quit. I'm talking about Williams, Malarkey and now the "lovable" loser Dick Jauron. If we had kept Williams and Malarkey for the long haul do you honestly believe that this team would have reaped the benefits with playoff appearances and a shot at the big dance? I know that many here think that Jauron will turn this thing around eventually if given an extended stay here. I don't believe this because I go on the theory that if you've been a head coach for longer than six or seven years that you are what your record says you are. In my book, he's a failure as a head coach and that isn't going to change with a eighth, ninth or tenth season at the helm. Williams and Malarkey were colossal failures and them sticking around would not have changed the Bills fortunes. Jauron obviously has at least one more season to show he has what it takes. If the Bills have yet another long vapid losing season the Bills would be fools to keep the eight time loser as a head coach for yet another go round.
  15. After reading the article I can't get over the feeling that the Bills really should have drafted an offensive lineman like Brandon Albert, Ryan Clady or Chris Williams with their first round pick. I love Greer as our starting CB opposite McGee, and have this nagging feeling that McKelvin was a luxury pick on a team that really needed to try and give Marshawn a top unit in front of him. They also didn't need another return guy which is McKelvin's other specialty. I think this might have been a missed opportunity to help our team build towards a dominant offensive line.
  16. To me, it just seemed like Schobel and Kelsay had no problems whatsoever getting their big money deals. I don't understand why it always seems to become this long and drawn out act of contrition with the other Bills that I mentioned. Like I said, I'm sorry that I even mentioned my concern here. If they don't show Evans (who I think has HOF talent) his money then something is seriously wrong at One Bills Drive. Be it nefarious practices or not.
  17. GG's right, I was only talking about homegrown talent since Moulds' big contract. They showed Schobel and Kelsay the money last year and they need to show Lee Evans his money soon for my concerns to go away. To me, it looks as if they wanted Clements, Winfield, Williams and now Evans to take major discounts when it came their turn. Either way, I deeply regret sharing my concerns in the matter.
  18. Here at the glass house TSW it's perfectly ok to hurl homophobic insults at those who are supportive of Losman, it's perfectly ok to make fun of hit and run victims. but to have questions and concerns over the lack of re-signing of the star minority Bills players it means that you have become the devil incarnate. I was hoping for a civil debate on a serious subject, but I guess that's only on the TSW mob's terms and conditions. Apparently they get to choose who and what is appropriate to be discussed. You get to say the most vile and nasty things at someone who's views you disagree with as long as your with the group. Is this seriously what we want? Of those that were willing to discuss this subject, like the McGee and Parrish (average players) post mentioned above and in other posts, if they are the biggest minority stars that have been re-signed to new contracts for the Bills since Eric Moulds (who btw I consider the last big name minority player to cash in), then what does that say? They gave me McGee and Parrish and I gave them Clements, Winfield and Williams. I never said that the Bills were racists, look it up and prove it if you think otherwise. I did point out my concerns and questions regarding a disturbing trend in the Bills front office. If they re-sign Lee Evans (bigtime player) then my questions and concerns WILL go away, if they don't then it becomes an even bigger disturbing trend and in turn, concern in my view. Next time I'll just keep it to myself because I come over here for some fun discourse about my favorite team. Not getting into knockdown-dragouts with my fellow Bills fans.
  19. What's ridiculous is Kelsay's contract. As for taking a break, if dissenting opinions are no longer welcome then I certainly don't belong here.
  20. Wow, did I touch a nerve in "Kool-aid Drinker in Connecticut". Don't hurt your knees bowing down to Ralphie and the boys.
  21. At least I'm not the kool-aid drinking automaton bowing down at the all mighty football "geniuses" over at One Bills Drive that you seem to be. So who exactly is the fool here? You automatons can't even answer a simple question about why they gave Kelsay that outlandish contract.
  22. Why is Chris Kelsay averaging about 5.7 million dollars a year for this team? Please tell me why. Then tell me why the Bills continue let their star minority players they drafted and who are looking for their big payday go to other teams.
  23. I made myself crystal clear GG... http://www.stadiumwall.com/index.php?showt...571&st=200# My concerns about their dealings with minority players have nothing to do with rookie players. You guys can downplay it all you want, but why does a non-starting NFL talent like Kelsay (and please don't tell me he's starting material) sit here with a big fat contract, while star players like Clements, Williams and Winfield are playing for other teams? Why does a player like Lee Evans still not have a renegotiated contract? Something is seriously perplexing, wrong and unfair with the Bills dealings here.
  24. Fast forward to '09...JP 90 yd. strike to Evans!!!! McKelvin badly beat!!!!
  25. Let me be clear here, I am talking about the minority star Buffalo Bills players who were drafted by the team, not the free agent players, and what happens to them when their original contracts come to an end. In the cases with the minority players, the Bills appear to want to have it both ways, they want players to be loyal and play out their original contracts and they also want that player to be willing to give the Bills a break when it's renegotiation or contract talks time. The Bills always appear shocked when they wait too late to renegotiate a player that clearly has outperformed what he was making. They waited until it was too late with Winfield, Williams AND Clements. The first two were free agents and the last was a player that was looking to deal long before the CB position blew up in salary. This is a trend that has been going on for many years now. For some strange reason the Bills felt like those players owed them. They ALWAYS wait till it's too late when it comes to their BEST players. Why is it that Evans STILL has not signed a renegotiated deal yet? Why did they pay big money to Kelsay who is clearly not even a starting calibre DE? Do you have an answer for this? Why did a mere hint of displeasure over his contract propel the Bills to quickly give the overrated Aaron Schobel a renegotiated big fat raise? McGee signed on the cheap, which makes my case not yours. As for the drafting of black players, rookie contracts are the big bargains for the NFL owners, or did you not know this? Seriously think about the fact that Kelsay will earn about 5.7 million a year from this team. But with Lee Evans it becomes this long drawn out thing just like it was with Clements, who finally had had enough. Kelsay's making 5.7 a year and Peters, their best player who signed a RIGHT TACKLE type contract, becomes the best LT in the league and the Bills clearly have no interest in making things right. I'm ceratianly sick of the race card when it's used as a convenient political tool, but this is different to me. Obviously you're not looking at things the same way I am, and that's fine. But I feel like this has been a trend that just doesn't seem to go away. Hopefully they sign Evans to a nice big fat contract and these fears can go away, but until then I will have some suspicions about this team as I pointed out above.
