  1. He may not have turned them down, but I think there's the possibility that something happened sunday night that made the Bills go with Gailey. Maybe there was some indication that Frazier was having second thoughts about taking the job if offered. The sheer quickness of going with Gailey is just too weird after hearing how much Frazier blew them away in the interview. I get the feeling that this isn't so cut and dry with them choosing Gailey over Frazier.
  2. The Bills did try to get the top coaching talent out there. When you start getting to names like Frazier and Grimm and below that then is Chan Gailey really that bad of a decision? I was absolutely shocked at Grimms luke warm and somewhat disrespectful response to the Bills. I can't wait to hear what happened with Frazier, if he was sending less than enthusiastic signals which expedited the hiring of Gailey. I mean, who the heck are these nobodies to turn down the Buffalo Bills???? A still proud franchise with the best fans in the world. It's shocking that these guys are that dumb and arrogant. After sleeping on it, I'm totally cool with Gailey. Why? Because the Bills DID ask all of the guys I really wanted (Shanahan, Cowher, Harbaugh) to be their head coach. When I find myself asking about guys like Garrett, McDermott and Rivera then I know I've gone off the deep end. Go get 'em Gailey. I'm looking forward to the press conference and see who we get as coordinators.
  3. Why didn't they just continue to interview guys like Garrett, McDermott or Rivera? We'll probably never know the true answer. I would understand hiring this guy who's at the very bottom of the coaching list if they had all declined, but this guy Gailey was nothing more than a caretaker type of head coach of the last vestiges of a Dallas dynasty. What a disappointment. Reminds me of the Jauron hire. Gut reaction is really bad on this one. I am seriously bummed out.
  4. Not this time around. In this age of instant information, Americans are much more well informed and much more powerful than they've ever been before. So much so that even in the bluest of blue states MA, they are so offended at the unseemly nature of this current administration that they've resorted to voting for a republican senator. There's a real backlash against politicians who refuse to listen, who have the gall to mock the American people, who lie and who don't follow through on their promises. Brown beating Coakley is a HUGE loss for the corrupt old school politics as usual and a HUGE win for America. There's a real independent movement happening, where politicians (no matter their political affiliation) can no longer hide and will finally have to start listening and answering to the American people.
  5. I can see why you'd be afraid of comparing the coaching credentials of Callahan and Frazier. Callahan isn't at the top of my wish list, but given the choice I'd take him over this Leslie Frazier nobody who's afraid of the first head coaching challenge offered to him. You're in your 50s and chances are that you won't be given another shot at this head coaching thing pal. Just ask Jason Garrett.
  6. You didn't even know who Leslie Frazier was four weeks ago, admit it... This Frazier thing is too funny. The guy is truly a baffoon if he turns down the Bills. It would be ironic if Jason Garrett took the job. The guy that always turned down job offers counts his blessings and takes the Bills job.
  7. How's that Jet offensive line looking? His offenses were awesome with the Raiders. Lead the team to the Superbowl with a scary good offense. Knows the running game, knows the passing game. Yes, he's a better candidate and I'd take him over Frazier.
  8. I was never that big a fan of Frazier to begin with. Looks much too inner-focused just like Dick Jauron. He has that same weird stare. Time to keep interviewing the list of coordinators and move on to the possibility of Callahan, Billick, Martz or Fassel. If it were me, I'd try to raid the Jets coaching tree starting with Callahan as head coach. The Jets have arrived at what the Bills are shooting to become. Strong offensive line (use 1st rd pick on OL), strong running game, strong defense. Let the pilfering begin!
  9. Garrett, McDermott, Rivera, Heimerdinger, Callahan...that's five without doing any research.
  10. It was a stupid statement made by Sal and he deserved the shot. Pretty sad when a football writer becomes a drama queen. He needs to grow a pair and not be so overdramatic. What will they do!? What will they do? Leslie Frazier said noooooooooo! Oh the humanity!!!!!!! The Bills really should go after an offensive guy like Callahan or Heimerdinger anyways.
  11. The guy was a virtual nobody until Dungy started touting his name around. All of a sudden he's the next coming of Tom Landry???? Oh please, if he's offended by a head coaching job offer no matter how far down the list he was then he can go scratch. Plenty of head coaching candidates in the league who will count their blessings and take the job.
  12. Sal should be embarrassed to call himself a football writer and "tweet" that he has no idea where the Bills turn. As if Leslie Frazier was the end all be all of NFL coaches. Two weeks ago barely anyone knew his name. This job is not for a diva and certainly not for a guy like Frazier who's in his 50s, who's never been offered an NFL head coaching job and is afraid of finally getting the chance. My response is, you're Leslie freaking Frazier and you're turning down this job offer? ...NEXT! If he does that then he's a moron. As for Sal, here's hoping your employers don't read your twit page and here's a candidate list for you...Garrett, Rivera, McDermott, Heimerdinger, Callahan. That's five off the top of my head and all of them have just as much qualifications as Leslie "recent nobody" Frazier. He's looks like the second coming of Dick Jauron. We did the quiet and stoic coach thing, hope the Bills pass on him first. Get a freaking grip Sal, geeeez!
  13. Me too, and it looks like they're going to do just that.
  14. I totally believe it. The Bills were dumb enough to hire Jauron, Malarley and Williams so I have no doubt they are dumb enough to hire Russ "never held a real NFL job" Grimm.
  15. Today on Morning Joe, Chris Matthews made an ugly and bigoted plea for catholics to vote against the protestant Brown. I kid you not... http://newsbusters.org/blogs/mark-finkelst...rotestant-coakl Of course no one on the set admonished him for this not so veiled, unwarranted and unnecessary comment. Nice way for MSNBC to honor MLK day. All men are created equal, except when it's a close senate race. Then it's ok to highlight the candidate's religions in an effort to gin up the catholic vote. The problem is Coakley is self loathing and doesn't think catholics should work in hospitals! They need to rename his show Nutball with Chris Matthews.
  16. http://www.newyorkjets.com/team/coach/1316-bill-callahan Bill Callahan would make for an awesome choice as the Bills offensive coordinator. Heck, he did lead the Raiders to the Superbowl as a head coach so maybe he should even be interviewed for the top spot.
  17. The Colts laying down to the Jets at home with a 14-0 record was the most womanly thing to ever happen on a football field.
  18. I was only talking about who I was pulling for in the Jets/Colts game. I'm pulling for the Saints too.
  19. Happy belief? Alarmist much? While it's sucks getting turned down by good young coaches like Schottenheimer and Harbaugh, even though that has happened doesn't mean that no qualified and good coaches would take the job. That's a ridiculous notion. There are valid reasons why Schott and Harbaugh would rebuff the Bills, but guys like Frazeir and the bunches of head coaches in waiting that have never even been offered a job have no good reason to do such a thing. The Bills are in a very good position to hire a guy that is both qualified and enthusiastic. I'll give you two other guys off the top of my head, Callahan (Jets) and Heimerdinger (Titans). Both offensive gurus who would be attractive options to coach the offensively challenged Bills. Frazeir is not the end all be all and if he does turn down the Bills he'd be a moron. I don't see him doing that though.
  20. Want to expand on that non reply?
  21. I know it may not seem it, but there are plenty of qualified NFL coaches who would jump at the chance to be the head coach of the Bills. Garrett, McDermott, Rivera. Trust me, they'll get a guy that both wants and is enthusiastic about the job. Luckily, I don't see Frazier as the overly sensitive diva type who'd be offended he wasn't the first choice for the head coaching job. Last I knew, he's never been offered one.
  22. Who is he to be offended? Seriously. He should be flattered. If I hear one inkling that he's offended that other guys were offered the job before him, then I don't want him. Move on and start interviewing other people.
  23. I want to see this headline...Brown Teabags Coakley! When the people of Massachusetts tell you they've had enough, then you know you're in serious trouble (and I'm not talking about Coakley). There's no way to spin this for Obama, but it'll be funny to watch him and his liberal cohorts try.
  24. I don't see the Cowboys or Chargers firing their coaches and going after Frazier. But I'll agree, that's the only thing that would derail it. Frazier to the Bills seems like it's just meant to be.
  25. I remember how good it felt to have fellow fans of AFC East opponents rooting for us when our team finally cracked into the bigtime with Kelly and the boys. I like Peyton Manning, but I'm so sick of the machine like consistency of that organization. Screw them and their perfectness. I hope the Jets beat them and the Colts have to forever explain why they just let the Jets have the game and ruin their perfect season in week 16. I think the Colts might have angered the football gods with that one. There's something very weird about this game being a rematch of these two teams. Of course this could all change after a week of hearing annoying Jet fans on WFAN...
