I didn't say I disagreed with the outcome. Don't put words in my mouth. I'm just annoyed that now the presumed outcome is we get the Chiefs on 8 days of rest and preparation while we get 6 days. That would of course happen the one time we finally get them in our stadium. Chiefs luck never runs out, just sick of it is all.

At this point of the season, what are 2 really going to do? This is the crappiest chiefs team since Mahomes has been the qb. If we can’t beat them now, we aren’t that good.

Disagree with this. I think the Steelers have a better chance of winning if they can launch the ball deep to Pickens. I was totally fine with a bad weather game because they would have barely had a passing offense whereas ours could have scraped by. Now both teams are on equal playing field AND our divisional round opponent gets 8 days of rest versus 6 days of rest. It is a horrible outcome all around.

You’re overthinking this and this is more than about football man.

but let’s have people crashing everywhere, with not enough first responders to help, so we can every advantage over a 10 point underdog haha.

Whatever. I'm gonna laugh when it's not that bad tomorrow. And now all we're gonna hear about is how the governor bailed us out.

Well ignore those people because they are morons. Buffalo had a blizzard last year where people died because they got stuck on roads and couldn’t get help. So let’s have 50 troopers directing traffic at a bills game instead of being on call for emergencies.

football and the bills are two of my favorite things in the world. But man, people need to prioritize more.

I wonder how much 12 we see with Shakir and Diggs. Then again, Diggs’ snap count has been down so I bet we do see a lot of 12. Especially with the weather.

Watt being out changes everything for them. And obviously the weather is going to be a huge factor (I’m soft, I want a dome, this hurts our offense). But I think the best way to attack Pittsburgh is to spread the field with receivers. But obviously, we may not a choice now.

Atlanta has a ton of offensive skill players and the #8 overall pick this year. Plus a pathetic division.

Imagine having a top 10 pick but also being in the playoff hunt in week 17 for a division title!

That would be my destination. Good owner also who seems pretty hands off and willing to spend.

Anything in the AFC is brutal. Burrow will be back, and now we know the Browns are legitimately good. Chiefs will get weapons for Mahomes. Rodgers will be healthy, and the Jets won 7 without him. Anything could happen but the AFC will be a real grind.

NFC? There's like 3-4 good teams a lot of meh. If  the goal is to get to Super Bowls the road is way easier in the NFC.

Great points but I don’t see Belichick as an Atlanta guy. But if the falcons do get a qb, they will be a major problem.

Davis being out may be a blessing in disguise. Sherfield is a solid blocker as well and Shakir’s game is better suited for the weather as opposed to Gabe’s.

Yeah, who needs Davis’ stupid 33 tds when you can have 2 guys who have a combined 8 tds!

davis has his flaws but this hate is getting next level dumb.

Since the passing game may not be a big factor this week I'd definitely roll the dice and sit Douglas.

Going to need him 100% against the Chiefs/Browns/Texans in next round.

I get what you’re saying but assuming a win is pretty risky. Considering Pitt are the type of teams we have has problems with (physical, think we are much better than them).

this should be an easy W but it’s still the playoffs.

Bill should hold tight to see if Dallas or Philly opens up. Either one could fire the coach if they lose.

Dallas would be the best job open. Loaded roster, rich owner who loves to spend, weak division, weak conference.

Raiders is, IMO, the worst. Loaded division with Reid/Mahomes, Sean Payton, Justin Herbert then the Raiders, who can be plucky and tough and whatever but will always be competing for the wild card round.

Atlanta would also be a great spot, maybe better than Dallas. You can be 5-10 and still in the hunt for that division.

The AFC West is far from loaded. One of the worst divisions in football. Atlanta would be a good gig if you had a qb.

the chargers makes the most sense. Cali is amazing if you can afford it. Plus, he can’t screw up the offense there.

One of the worst coaching jobs out there this season to follow a legend like Bill Belichick. As a Buffalo Bills fan I like the Jerod Mayo hire it sets the New England Patriots back 10 years 5 years with Mayo screws ups and another 5 years for the next coach to undue the damage. The hire is basically the opposite of Bill Belichick so basically the Patriots team are going to be a country club for lazy players to collect a NFL check and never win much good luck with that. So basically the Patriots are the New York Jets another country club for lazy players now in the AFC East in the basement. I think Patriots owner Robert Kraft, the Patriots fans and the sports media are going to find out fast it wasn’t mean old Bill Belichick that was the problem with the Patriots it was the lazy players who coasted off past Patriots success of Tom Brady and Bill Belichick. Robert Kraft basically threw out Tom Brady and Bill Belichick who won 6 Super Bowls and completely cut them out of anything to do with the transition of the Patriots organization? Robert Kraft has gone senile if you ask me. Bills fans know how did that work out for the Bills when we changed Bills uniforms to Navy, excluded the 1990’s Bills from having much to do with the Bills. Remember the Gregg Williams and Tom Donahue years? It was a total failure and freak show excluding the Super Bowl Bills players from the organization. Today’s Patriots reminds a lot of those tough years for the Bills in my opinion. Go Bills! Let’s Go Buffalo

Holy hyperbole. This isn’t Nick Saban at Bama, who also went to a championship game with a below average roster (for them). This is a garbage, bottom 3 roster that has garbage qbs; garbage weapons; and made a STs/ DCa 2nd year qbs OC. They made the playoffs once since Brady left and lost in historic fashion.

also, some of you are stuck in the past where this move will “set your franchise back 10 years” Bs. The Texans were maybe the worst team of the last 4 years. They got a new qb and new coach and made the playoffs in their first year,

  9. 51 minutes ago, Alphadawg7 said:

Why is that only applied to BB though?  Where are the list of HC's winning multiple Super Bowls with the Matt Cassels of the world?

Joe Gibbs. Most underrated coach in nfl history. Won 3 SBs with 3 different Matt Cassel.

put it like this alpha. If you have a new team, who do you want to coach it without a qb place of current coaches? I’d go 100% with Reid first. I may go with Tomlin second because of what he has done with some garbage qbs. Or Shanahan/ McVay. Hell, I love what Matt Lafleur has done with a second qb.

Do we want to go back and look at the buccaneers roster inwhich Brady won with?

Do we wanna remember the buccaneers defense that Brady won with and the run they went on in the playoffs?

Remember Brady's last season n playoff game in NE with no weapons and how bad he looked to the point many people thought he should retire?

Brady didn't go to the jets and turned them into a SB team.

He went to a team that was just missing a QB cause their QB the year before threw 20ints.

This might hold more weigh if Brady didn’t have 6 other SBs. Belichick tried multiple ways to replace Brady and was awful expect for the one season with a playoff team that got historically stomped by us. He had a losing record in NE before mo Lewis saved him.

obviously, he’s a good strategist and coach. But Brady has proven he is a million times more the “patriot way” than Belichick.

Where would Reid be without Mahomes/McNabb?

    McD without Allen?

Obviously Brady was a major factor in Belichik's success and 6 SB rings, but the situation is what it is and still think there's no real debate that he's the GOAT and it was the perfect match for the greater part of 2 decades in Foxboro.

McDermott made the playoffs in his first year without Allen. He actually had a worst record in their first year together.

And Reid has worked with many qbs and had success. Obviously, Mahomes is a different animal but Reid has been way more successful with other qbs than BB.

Tom Brady literally won a a SB with a team that missed the playoffs the year before in his first year without BB.

BOB is a backstabbing clown and Mayo's skids will be greased from day one if he keeps him.

That’s pretty valid too. I think he might lean towards a veteran OC but there are so many young innovative offensive coaches who could do awesome things with McDaniels.

won a a playoff game Vinny Testaverde, Leroy Hoard, Derrick Alexander 4 years after taking over a 3-13 team.  It would be their only win for the next 23 years.

Lots of posters here saying it was mostly Brady.  How many were saying that after the first 1 or 2 SB wins?

he won one playoff game 30 years??? Clearly, it was all Belichick then!!!

Fun fact, Vinny won more playoff games without Belichick than Belichick won without Brady!

But what is Bill Walsh legacy if he doesnt have Montana and has a series of scrubs at QB?  I mean this is a silly notion...QB is the most important position in all of team sports, of course a HC needs a QB to have sustained high level success.  What BB did over and over in NE with rosters that most coaches would have struggled to get into the playoffs let alone make 9 SB's winning 6 is astonishing and may never happen again.

He still won 11 games with a QB who literally had not started a game since high school.

BB may be hated, be he gets his flowers as a HC and is without question one of the GOAT's if not the GOAT.

The Matt Cassel season is the most overrated in history. It was an undefeated team (until the SB!) and lost 5 more games the next year. That’s a huge drop off (if we do that next year, we’re 6-11).

compared that to Brady literally winning a SB the next year without him on a team that missed the playoffs the year before.

obviously, Belichick did some great, innovative things but it’s pretty clear he’s not some elite mastermind who can win with anyone. He needs to go to a situation with a QB and weapons in place where he can just oversee the team.

  13. I was once laughed at because I said Belichick was dick Jauron without Brady. Maybe I overstated it but Jauron’s wining % was 42.3 with Miller, Matthews, Edwards.

many geniuses get laughed at because they are simply ahead of their time.

I love this hire as a Bills fan.

Not saying Mayo isn't a brilliant guy with potential to be a great football head coach. But...I mean, come on. The Patriots are a mess and they needed to completely clean house and start from scratch. This isn't doing that.

They promoted a guy from a defense that finished 7th despite playing with one of the worst offenses in the nfl.

are they more of a mess than the Texans were last year? If they hit on a qb and get any type of talent on offense, that could be a quicker turnaround that you think.

Maybe Mayo sucks (I hate real Mayo).  But I think Bills fans are underestimating how terrible of a GM Belichick was. Any guy with a pulse will upgrade them. And I won’t be shocked if McDaniels because the best qb out of this draft.

easily the worst team in the division now, but all things considered, they are in a better spot than like the drought bills (never high picks because they were always 7-9).

    1 hour ago, BuffaloBillyG said:

I think one of the more interesting things about the Mayo promotion is there is a good chance a high percentage of assistant coaches as well as position coaches are retained. Would make it harder on Belichick to round out his own coaching staff should be land a new HC job.

You would think a lot of coaches would come work under under BB. Kinda of like what Saban used to do.

Best thing he can do is retain Bill O'Brien, imo. I'm not a huge BOB fan but he knows how to run an offense and Bailey Zappe loves him and seemed to thrive under him. As did Watson in Houston.

So obviously, I hope BOB takes a job somewhere else. Maybe join Kiffin's staff in Bama.

I wouldn’t say zappe thrived.  Decent back up I guess.

i do think O’Brien is a good OC limited by bad qbs and lack of playmakers,

How the heck did they interview the required amount of canidates already? Wonder who else they brought in for an interview yesterday?

And what a joke. New England is gonna be a laughing stock of the division for a long time. They had an opportunity to get Mike Vrabel and the totally fumbled this hiring.

I really like Vrabel but are we sure Mayo can’t be a really good one too? You have no idea until a guy gets a chance. They love him.

and if it wasn’t Belichick (and I get why), any other coach would have been fired halfway through last year. He has been horrible the last 2 years. The Pats get a top 5 pick and will get a qb who will be better than buttcheeks Max Jones. They have zero playmakers. If they hire a GM who is not terrible (Belichick was so bad at that too), they will upgrade their talent big time.

They are definitely the worst team in the division at this point. But they have no where to go but up. They were a joke the last 2 years.
