  1. Defensive players have to know you can't even look at the QB's head or you will draw the flag. The league has been very strict about this for a couple of years now (Unless your name is Trent Edwards). Maybin needs to play with more control. I liked his speed and passion, but he needs get himself disciplined.
  2. Agree that Nelson was one of the few players that showed up to claim his roster spot. Joque Bell and Chad Simpson also played like they want to earn a roster spot. The way this team gets injured you never can have enough depth. Other teams are also watching and RB depth around the league being a concern they could end up on some teams roster.
  3. The o-line actually played rather well as compared to the rag tag group that ended the season last year. They opened up running lanes and did'nt get the QB put on IR.
  4. and I think that's how Bill's fans need to evalute the QB's. Whom can manage the game and make the fewest mistakes because we certainly don't have a play maker on the roster. I think we need to run about 80% of the time, throwing it enough to keep the defense honest.
  5. Yeah, but as a young team they need a couple of wins to build some confidence. The Redskins players looked so happy and like they were having fun.
  6. Yeah he looked lost. Sorry dude we got like 15 LB's and will probally only keep 8. Way to much talent for him to climb over on the depth chart. The draft would have been better spent on an offensive tackle prospect. Guy named Wood looked to be in on a lot of play's though.
  7. Nobody got hurt? Well except for Jackson, Lynch, Carrington and Maybins pride.
  8. Maybin is an absolute ass clown. He gets totally mauled by a rookie in his first game and then has enough gall to hit Mcnabb in the head 10 seconds after he gets rid of the ball. Can we cut him already. The lack of pressure on the qb is going to make for a very long season.
  9. Coach showed no faith in the offensive line to gain a few inches. That should really help their confidence. Gutless as usual. Looks like Moorman will be the MVP again this year.
  10. If the LT does'nt perform well Edwards will not be around to see next season. Teams are going to blitz us to death until we prove that we can stop the blitz and complete passes. Teams are going to line up 8 or 9 on the line and try to shut the run down and pressure the qb. Same story for the last 7 or 8 years now. The offensive line is well known as one of worst in the league. They need to protect and burn teams when they try to blitz us. Same goes for the defense. If they cannot pressure qb's and stop the run it will be along season. By the third game of the year we will know what we have.
  11. Have no fear Kirk Chambers is here. He started when Peters got injured a couple of years ago and was wonderful at LT. Last year as RT was a another story, but as LT he's fine.
  12. Why is michael irvin in the hall before monk or reed? He's had a lot of drug issues and he can't speak very well.
  13. How did Mario Haggen and Justin Bannan look?
  14. Hey, not everybody can be Phil Hansen and Bruce Smith. For every Hansen there's 100 Kelsey's. Dude's not a super star, but he's not as bad as everybody makes him out to be. What about Ellis? The guy's going on his third year and he has only been on the field for maybe 3 snaps. He's so bad he can't displace Kelsey. If Kelsey sucks so bad why has he been starting for 5 years?
  15. Agree, but only because Levitre was a rookie. Given a couple years hopefully Wood and Levitre will perform as well. I just hope Wood and Levitre can put on some weight. Levitre more than Wood, but they seem to be more finesse and technique guys's than pure maulers like Richie. Richie played great for someone just stepping on short notice, best guard play since Ruben Brown.
  16. Some of those guys were at 325 their senior year in high school. No way Wilfork is 325. More like 400. I think these players weight is taken their senior year in college and they never get weighed again throughout their career. Some of the weights just seem to be very accurate. You can just look at Wilfork and tell there's no way he's 325. He'smore like 6'6 and 400.
  17. Perfect situation for T.O.. Cinci's window of opportunitiy is open. They will be a great combo, Palmer must be licking his chops. AFC north will be good to watch. Cinci lit it up when they TJ Houshwenzata. I think TO will have similiar success. Carson Palmer is way better than anybody one of our QB's. Good for TO.
  18. I actually thought Johnathan Scott was better than Bell or Merideth, but i guess he was'nt good enough to crack the line in Buffallo so he'll go to Pittsburgh and start at tackle there. I'm glad we are so good at evaluating talent, those Steelers offensive lines are so terrible.
  19. Well they had the nastiest S.O.B. of a road grader run blocker, young, healthy in the name of Richie Incognito on the roster, but let him go to the dolphins so he can kick the crap out of our defensive line twice a year. Nice move front office that one will bite us in the defense. The Dolphins have assembled one hell of a mean ass kicking run blocking offensive line. In two years Bill Parcells has assembled what the Bills have'nt had in 20 years. Jake Long, Donald Thomas, Jake Grove, Richie Incognito, They drafted a 340 lb monster named John Jerry to work into the line up at guard also, I forgot the right tackle, but he's an all pro also i think from the hurricane's. They have also recently signed about 3 DT's to play DE in the 3-4 rotation. Parcells love to rotate those DL men to keep them fresh in the 4th quarter. Something this is a long way from doing. We need to find three startes first. get them worn down so they get ran all over in the 4th quarter, then maybe by week 10-12 we should start to Carrington or Ellis get into the linup.
  20. Stroud and Hangartner. Stroud will not make the transition to DE. Plays to stiff and no lateral movement, Carrington shows more promise and youth. Hangartner will be replaced by Wood. Hangartner has been a disappointment, not as good as Fowler on par with Preston just too small and gets man handled, can't stop the rush and gets no movement in the run game.
  21. It's going to very interesting to see how the lb's shake out. Ton of talent and only 4 positions to fill. I think i heard we have 15 lb's on the roster, is that true. No matter what somebodys not going to happy. I think Ellison is really a long shot now unless there are a ton of injuries. He really played well last year. Moats and Batten also will have to show alot even though they were just drafted. Torbor and Mitchell were starters on the Giants Superbowl team, but are no lock coming off injuries and age issue. Davis may only be a one year stop gap and an injury away from a career. With the age of Torbor, Mitchell and Davis, guys like Moates, Battan, and Harris will get a lot of looks. Is Poz in trouble? His durability is now a concern, another broken bone and his story may be written. Most interesting positional battle?
  22. Cornell Green is a monster at right tackle. He is fast as hell and from what i've seen of his Raiders games he is all over his guy in pass protection, smothers his guy all in their face. Don't know about his run blocking, but pass protection he's 9 out of 10. Penelties are another question. He seems to attract the yellow cloth alot. False starts and holding, hopefully coaches can get that out of the way. Dude will start unless Merideth wins the RT job. Can play for a couple of years or back up.
  23. I'm hoping this kid can step in day 1 and play one of the tackle spots, preferably left. I don't think Bell will be playing much in camp or preseason coming off an achillies injury, so hopefully Wang can earn the spot and Green the right side. When Bell comes back he can back up the left side and Merideth can either win the right side job or back up Green. I don't know why they did'nt resign Scott, I really thought he was decent and was still young and huge with a lot of upside much like Bell, now he's a Steeler, go figure.
