A team that had no significant injuries in the F4 who finished 9-9. Confirmed crappy.

What is the obsession with taking a QB in the draft?
BuffOrange replied to billsfan89's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
And you plan on fixing this horrible defense with 1 draft pick? -
Boy I really hope they don't play the Flyers. Having to listen to their homer announcers complain about every call and non-call always makes me want to stab them in the face with a screwdriver.

Best QB Prospects Using "The Parcells Rules"
BuffOrange replied to yungmack's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was never a Bledsoe guy at all. But he didn't get to choose between him & Manning. It was him or Rick Mirror. He made the right choice between two consensus top picks, just as Polian did. -
Watering down the game? They used to kick off from the 35 and moved it back 10-15 yrs ago to create more offense. Nobody else remembers this?

Best QB Prospects Using "The Parcells Rules"

Meh, I would classify an all-time top 5 QB that doesn't miss a game for 13 yrs falling in your lap as pretty lucky. -
Damn I owe $50 after taking the 'Under' on 5 minutes for this lame reply.

Well that's wrong, I would've had the same comments if Scoop Jardine wasn't a retard. I am a poker player who understands variance. Read through my post history and you'll see me defending guys like Marty Schottenheimer, Andy Reid, and Tony Romo, because there is sooooo much more luck in postseasons than people realize, particularly in a 1 and done format. I mean I don't think Syracuse was the best team in 2003 either.

I don't disagree w/ any of this. Not sure what you're arguing. You're the one who brought up Newark... I just think if you want to play the populist "little guy" card you should have some teams in mind that should've gotten in and why. But nobody does. VCU and UAB were a couple of the last teams in (presumably over Colorado and Va Tech) and had/have a chance to compete, unlike college football. Not sure what the problem is.

What about Ohio St or the Big 10 and why do I have to mention them? Which Big 10 team that was left out should've been in - Minnesota? Good for them "earning the right" but not everyone who earns that right plays home games. When UNC played @MSG last year they had a zillion fans so I think they'll be fine wrt crowd support in Newark. I'm not sure who "everyone" is wrt criticism of FSU's seed (straw-man arguments are awesome though!).

I am amazed at the # of people who openly brag about not caring about or watching the reg. season who then pretend to be experts in March based on a tiny sample size of one weekend. This doesn't seem to happen to the same extent in any other sport. Needless to say the Big East flopped and failed to meet expectations. Pretty much anyone who followed the season knew they didn't have any elite teams; just a lot of depth. Note that a couple yrs ago when they were more top-heavy they got better seeds but fewer bids. Marquette was the 11th team and you can say they only made the S16 because they played another BE team if it makes you feel better, but they also curbstomped a Xavier team that went 15-1 in Richmond's conference. As the biggest BE hater of them all Doug Gottlieb said - the ball did not bounce the right way for Pitt, or L'ville (whose best player got hurt) or Villanova (who looked like dogs down the stretch yet still led the whole game and needed 90% FT shooters to miss repeatedly in order to lose to George Mason); and UNC/Duke would be out too if they don't play home games in the 2nd round.

Don't forget jacking up a 3 after an offensive rebound at the end of the 1st half w/ 25 sec's left and the shot clock turned off... Very much like the Uconn game in the dome last yr where he missed a layup instead of holding for the last shot in a tie game (you may recall they were bailed out by a controversial Boeheim time out that time). There cannot be a dumber player in America. And it's not like he has exceptional driving/shooting/passing skills to make up for it. -

GG 2011. If Scoop comes back next year I'm not going to watch. -
Yah that's pretty standard... Unless UNC is involved.

23-9. I was better at these things when I was 11-12yrs old doing my dad's office pool. With everyone picking Ohio St & Kansas and this Irving kid coming back I think I'm glad I went with Duke to win it all however.

Was never the least bit worried. That team was just way too small and overmatched. Trische & Joseph need to step it up to get to the Regional finals. -
That region is brutal. I'd have Kentucky in my FF if they were in any other region. I thought UNC was overseeded based on their relative lack of good wins, but they're still more talented than the other 2's with their NBA front line. When they played @MSG last year the crowd was fairly evenly split so I wouldn't expect a big homecourt vs. them in Newark.

Frustrating game - so many missed layups/FT's, the blown goaltending, bogus charge and other bad calls. For someone who supposedly had a chip on his shoulder, how about you stop missing dunks Rick. I can't stand Walker's theatrical Reggie Miller flips, but he's obv. a helluva player. I don't think this team is really intelligent or efficient enough in their halfcourt offense to make a serious run. -

Sick, I was gonna mention the Brady's too; mostly because they never fought (at least not in front of me). -

Woot, didn't think they'd sweep these two road games, nice win. Looks like a reasonable shot at a #3 seed if they win a game in the conf. tourney. -

JB's comments in that article are 100% correct. It's ridiculous that the Gottliebs of the world pretend like non-league games in November somehow help you in March. His dealings with the local media otoh are flat out embarrassing. Danny Parkins (the radio show he referenced) is ripping apart his fabricated version of a recent interview, and rightfully so. -

Pooj, Rutgers has a nice homecourt but they are awful on the road. We did not quit in the L'ville/Nova/Marquette losses either. I guess not quitting just doesn't do a ton for me. I mean it's pretty normal for the home team to get calls particularly when they are trailing. It just doesn't seem like we get the same level of help when we're behind in the dome. Of course I am biased. I'd say it's up their with Uconn 'cause we never win there. St. John's looking good too. A win @Gtown gives us a pretty sick quartet of road wins, probably as good as anyone's.
