  1. I don't know how credible this info is because I listened to the Jags play by play guy on WGR,and the conversation went something like this.. First question... Simon: So lets get right to it,will Henry be traded to the Jags... Jags PBP guy: Yes.. Simon: (a little shocked and surprised that it was a definitive yes) Really..?!?! Of course then the play by play guy went on to explain.. I would tend to agree, that this is wishfull thinking on his part. Later on in the conversation when the air planes quited down, the PBP guy talked about other options, such as Alexander,Larry Johnson, and there is another I'm missing on this list.. I did not read the WGR article, but I will tell you that on the radio,he said the main reason Henry was appealing to the Jags is his contract number.. I thought Henry wasn't willing to go to any team that wasn't re-working a deal for him..?
  2. Actually the morning show hasn't been as bad the past couple of weeks.. A little more football topics every other day or so and the around the league in 28 days or what ever it is,is a nice touch.. Getting team updates from all the other NFL cities, even if the segment is about 8 minutes long.. There was some decent JP discussion today as well, I hope they stick with the football talk a little more.. Some discussion about the Center would be nice and the potential of our boy from Illinois, who just signed.. By the way, anyone heard the advertisement for Football Mondays coming this fall to WGR, is the Coach coming back for this show..? There is no indication of the time for this show, maybe it will be the 10am to 12 noon slot that Riter/Hamilton filled last season.. Loved the Coaches insight on the team and the players ability or lack of in some cases..
  3. For me,it has always been about football, and that was one of the reasons I sort of fell in love with the previous 3 guys who were on before Simon and Whitey, the insight was good or at least the college insight was good from Bob Gaung<sp?> and Kevin always had something interesting to add and Puff was commical relief,I was personally crushed when I heard they lost there job,but at the same time familar with Simon and his ability and interested in what he would bring to the table..The same could be said for Whitey who I thought had a flair for the football and particulrly the draft, but the coverage leading up to the draft by WGR in the morning was terrible.. With all that said,I'm left craving football talk by the time 10am rolls around because I didn't get it from 7:30 to 9:56.. I just think so much more could have been done here in the offseason given the fact that Hockey was on the shelf.. Maybe not football everyday but intertwine it in the show better, there is still a pro football team in Buffalo I believe.. I guess at the very least,I'd like to hear these guys talk about what's going on with the other teams in the NFL or just the teams in the AFC East, what is Saban up to in Miami or how is New England getting along in their mini camps, what about the Jets, there must be news out there and other affiliates they can bring on the show to give us some insight,Entercom is pretty big..Lets not forget how willing the Bills have been to parade JP around town like their new trophy, are you telling me they can't get him on for an interview with Simon...? It's just frustration at this point.. I might not beable to call in during work but I am listening, and I'd personally like to hear anything football realted, topic wise.. It's not sad,but the truth is, TSW is the best place to get football news about the Bills because you know someone heard it from somewhere and you can read it here, and reading it is better then not hearing it at all...
  4. I believe Tops Markets was aquired quite some time ago by Giant, who also owns Martins..So all the same stores for the most part, just different concepts.. And I have also heard the same rumor though that all Tops will be slowly converting to the Martins name, but only once a face lift or make over was done on an existing store..Not really sure why the change though.. for those that have not checked out the site for Martins, not a bad store lay out.. Martins Super Food Store
  5. I think you need to have a balanced WR set and you don't have it if you take Moulds out of the equation.. Lee Evans is your speed guy, will stretch the field, Moulds is your possesion guy, should catch anything thrown at him,can go up,over or slant, although he had a slight problem doing that last year but then again Josh Reed had a worse problem and you want him to move to be your possesion guy, when more then likely he will be dropped to your #4 WR or off the team entirely..? As for Parrish,I don't see him getting much of a chance beyond being that slot WR at some point. From what I have read and heard he will compair well to Antwan Randel El,who I see struggling this year for Pittsburgh as their #2.
  6. I think if you listen to the audio on the Bills web site, you can get the idea that these are the picks they had in mind days ago, these are the guys they have talked to,Parrish actually visited the Bills according to the Audio,so I agree with what was said above, these were weapons that they see helping our what...24th ranked offense last year.. It surely could have been worse right...2 running backs..
  7. I believe any true Bills fan would agree, although their have been a few hated QB's,the most hated would obviously be Billy Joe Hobert, talentless, good for nothing, clip board carrying, wont look at or study the play book, most sorry excuse for a QB in Bills history.. B) much better now.. By the way, where is Ted Cottrell right now..? And how good exactly is that Vikings Defense..?
  8. I was never a GR hater,I was really disappointed when they shipped Coach out for Schope, but slowly have grown to enjoy the programing..I also was one of those people who enjoyed Riter and Whitey and thought they were really starting to click in the evening hours..Bob Gounge can be annoying at times in the morning but with the 3 of them it was light comedy with some pretty good sports talk,Ticked off Thursday was great and Stone Cold Lock Friday...they will be missed.. Simon is good, but it's too bad they had to shake up the supporting cast like that..I personally wouldn't mind seeing them get rid of Couherd from 10am to noon and bring back the mid morning show..
  9. Did anyone here think that maybe, just maybe it was Jerry Grey who had the contract offer a couple of months ago and was sitting on it,waiting to see if he agreed with the coaching tactics and ideas of MM or at least wanted to see if he could get along with him as the head coach, before signing an extension..? I think it is possible..
  10. The wife got me watching this show because it debuted first and it was for the most part another CSI show, but in Hawaii.. But still, for a Wednesday night it was watchable, but once Lost started and we watched the first episode, hooked,no way we would have switched back..
  11. It was another good episode that had me interested from begining to end.. I have been giving it more thought though,is it possible they are all dead already, just stuck in limbo or a twilight zone as someone had refered to above. You get the constant references now to magic and the fact that the crippled guy couldn't walk and suddenly he can now after the Rosen. Also you got Jack seeing his dead father, which they do attempt to explain..A different way to watch the show though when you're thinking along those lines..Just some food for thought I guess..
  12. Would it not be a bad option at this point,if you're looking for a fantasy running back,to look at the Ravens back up.. I agree totally though,it's time for this team to step up,they have a real good opportunity to beat a team while their down a little right now and in the process maybe make our team look a little better...
  13. I don't know why it can't be any simpler then going with the hot hand. WM had 142 all purpose yards against the #2 defense in the NFL..Picked up blitzes and played a big part in shutting down Jason Taylor for the day.. Why not play him another week... ? Seriously,if for some odd reason WM tanks it against the Ravens or has a horrible game, fine put TH back in against the Cards and say WM isn't ready, but to have a player have a really good week and potentially have to sit the following week and jepordize the hot hand, would seem like a huge mistake IMO.. By the way, splitting carries at this point does not seem like the answer either. WM and TH both have said that you need to find a groove and get a feel for what the defense is going to do and the direction the line is blocking best in,so switching them off and on IMO does nothing to prove one is better then the other
  14. Well,I think that's just it,he hasn't cut enough players,he may be at fault for holding on to players too long,I never said he pounds his chest and bragged about cutting a player,I picture him as a guy who would be more then happy to talk about it though and do it,if he had a hand in it. But he hasn't been shy about parading new players around when he has brought them in or patting himself on his back for that, such as Drew,to try and make himself look wonderful or the 15 minute after start of free agencey signing of Posey, how many weeks did we have to hear about that, that was touted as a shrewd move..
  15. You know, just because the rumor comes from a very uncredible news,well...news is a strong word, football site, doesn't mean that a valid point was not made in the comment in some form and at least brought to light.. Donahoe is usally very vocal and would love to pound his chest in a case like this when he cuts a player as a show of power because a player was under preforming or what not on his team, supposedly our team.Donahoe has also been admitedly absent since the famous Ralph Wilson blast on Monday,is it hard to at least believe that maybe Mularkey went to Ralph and ironed it out and made things more favorable for himself in the process..
  16. I like him for the Phins..They could always use the WR help and I imagine it would be an emotional dump on our guys if in fact he signs with and show up on Sunday in a Phins uniform..
  17. I personally hope, for what ever reason Shaw needed to be cut,it was because MM said so and not because TD had the thought or forsight to be worried about the cap for 2005 as we sit at 0 and 4..
  18. Well, they cleared the spot, they will surely need another WR,too much youth now..Just not sure Jerry Rice is the answer either way..and would just add another "me" guy to the team... But since we are talking trade, and we know TD is looking to make Sports Center..what about Travis Henry for the Raiders 2nd rounder and Jerry Rice..
  19. Actually,if I'm recalling correctly, there was some accusations in the second episode as to why the plain tore apart like that, the smoker guy blammed it on the guy from Iraq, said he blew up the plain. If I had to blame it on anyone though,I make the old guy for being sinister, had an evil look to him.. I agree though,it wouldn't strike me as a big deal or a top priority, considering I'm stuck on this island,no way to communicate with anyone off of that island and no food supply, not to mention that out of all the people on that plain, for some reason I was one of 48 that survived the Rosen..
  20. I was sort up in the air after the first episode,as to whether it could maintain my interest, but after watching the 2nd part to the pilot episode,a week late which was stupid IMO,and then this weeks show,I'm finding the show very interesting now and intriguing..Like the lead girl for example, she was a strong part of last nights epsiode, and even after building some back story for her through flash backs,we do not know everything about her.If anything,I have to give credit to the writers for slowly introducing stories with in the story, and even some island stories are building.. I have only found one real fault with the show and that is if you really don't jump on board at the begining, this may be a show you could not pick up and start watching later on because it would leave you lost and wondering on a lot of things.Unlike sitting down and watching a show of CSI or ER here and there..
  21. I know as a fan,I hate to see the Bills lose week in and week out here, but the hard honest truth here is that the Bills have played teams that are better then .500 ,their first 3 games now.. Now take a look at a team like the Falcons who were 3-0 or the Jets, they didn't play anyone above a .500 rating..Honestly,mental mistakes have killed the Bills in every game but the Bills have been in every game, right up until the end any way,and maybe the Bills just are not quite ready to beat .500 teams or better yet.. I think many of us at least knew or felt that the first half of our schedule was not only important but probably the toughest part of our schedule..So now we're 0 and 3 and looking for an answer or at least someone to blame it on and some of the Bills players make it easy,no doubt, but step back, take a deep breath.. IMO..the glass may just be half full instead of half empty...
  22. The only comforting thing I have heard the past couple of weeks is that TD has one year left on his contract and Ralph hates to have his GM's go into a year as a lame duck,so a possible contract extension looms on the horizon or a buy out of the last year... As for a GM...what about..Scott Pioli..He is only Vice President of player personnel in New England right now,and answers to Bellicheck, pay him the bucks, give him Donahoes tile and job,General Manager and and President .. Wasn't thier a guy from Green Bay,retired, contemplating the Falcons GM job..?Ron Wolfe maybe..a little old,but so is Donahoe... Also Mueller,as mentioned by someone else..
  23. Problem being that the Buffalo fan has been fed the belief that if we don't put our butts in the seats then their may be no reason to go there on any Sunday in the next coming years except to watch the grass grow between the cracks.. It's a catch 22 really, don't go to the games and buy the tickets because we are certainly not getting the product we should be for our money and have the team move in 5 years or buy the tickets and be glad to have football.. It's a tough choice for some,I know..
  24. Actually,if you think about it,Milloy, when you refer to him, would be associated with the Pats and not the Bills....He sure as heck didn't make his name as a Buffalo Bill..In fact, what has he done for the Bills..? I'm sure it was the same when Thomas went to Miami to play..."Bills Thomas, not ready to play yet." and then the article goes on to talk about the Phins and who ever they were playing..
  25. I agree, what's the sense of having the rule,if they are not going to call it in the last 3 minutes of the game when it's going to be used the most any way in a close game..
