  1. The NHL is gone? I heard that the TV contract was not signed and sounded like it might not even if they did have contracts. If thats true would they even be able to pay any salerys with just ticket holders???
  2. Interesting saga so far. Emailed with a blue coat about getting tickets to the Atlanta game about two months ago and a few times since. Give number and location we would like. Same as we did last year with the same person. Then find Blue Coats not as involved as they were. Info passed on to Bills Ticket office and still lead to belive we were all set. Called office, spoke with person who was given the info. Told that Atlanta (game we wanted), Houston and Miami sold out That leaves a 4:15 Jets game, a KC and Carolina game at 1 to choice from. So now in the mist of emailing our group to see what they want to do. And this is Fan-friendly???? Fan-fustrating is more like it ... *shaking my head again this year !*

  6. I guess if money is the only factor ... then yes ... but you get what you play for (somethimes) and I think a solid backup (close to starter level) for a 1-3 year contract covers your butt if JP is a bust ... plus you want a similar QB to mentor JP ... "who has waiting for this all of his life"
  7. I had posted that Kelly Holcomb was a average QB and not a lot better than having Rob Johnson ... person replies that Rob was fantasic andhad great numbers ... and that Kelly was the best FA to pick ... So here is a list of the FA QB's and their ratings .... Shane Matthews UFA Bills 75.0 but not a real option Jim Miller UFA Patriots 75.2 mostly with the Bears Sage Rosenfels UFA Dolphins 51.9 - barely has played Josh Harris ERFA Ravens 0 - rookie Kordell Stewart UFA Ravens 70.7 - similar QB to JP - good option Kelly Holcomb UFA Browns 77.6 - signed by the Bills Charlie Batch UFA Steelers 76.8 - mostly with Lions - similar QB to JP / good option Tony Banks UFA Texans 72.5 similar QB to JP - good option Matt Mauck ERFA Broncos 0 - rookie Bradlee Van Pelt ERFA Broncos No info Todd Collins UFA Chiefs 70.4 - we have had him before - hardly played last 7 years Damon Huard UFA Chiefs 74.3 - not much experiance David Rivers ERFA Raiders 0 - rookie Drew Brees UFA Chargers Signed by Chargers Mike McMahon UFA Lions 55 - no experiance Rick Mirer UFA Lions 63.5 - to old Craig Nall RFA Packers 139 but no experiance Doug Pederson UFA Packers 62.3 Gus Frerotte UFA Vikings 76.1 similar QB to JP - good option Shaun Hill ERFA Vikings 0 - rookie Josh McCown RFA Cardinals 70.9 -watched him in the Arizona game - to young Matt Hasselbeck UFA Seahawks 83.7 - soild starter - unlikely to be a backup Brock Huard UFA Seahawks 80.3 - not much experiance Ty Detmer UFA Falcons 74.7 - not much last 5 years but could be a backup Rod Rutherford ERFA Panthers 0 - rookie Vinny Testaverde UFA Cowboys Fossil - beat out by Drew Jesse Palmer UFA Giants 59.8 Jeff Blake UFA Eagles 77.9 - similar QB to JP - good option Tim Hasselbeck ERFA Redskins 63.6 not much experiance So there were some other options - downside I see to Kelly is that he is not mobile - would think someone similar to JP would be better if they build a offense to match him you would want the backup to be similar
  8. "QB Rating means nothing. Rob Johnson had a great QB rating and he sucked harder than a $2.00 whore on her period the day her rent's due." For the record ... the two years Rob was a starter .. was average .. 1998, started 6 games, rating of 102.9 1999, started 1 game, rating of 119 2000, started 11 games. rating of 82 2001, started 8 games, rating of 76 for his career, was a 83.6 The three years of Drew were 86, 73, and 76 with a career of 76.7 Kelly Holcomb 2002, 2 starts, 92 rating 2003, 8 starts, 74.6 rating 2004, 2 starts, 96.8 Career of 77.6 Not sure I want to see him anymore than I did Rob ...
  9. That works out to be a 77.8 rating ... Also had 25 rushes for 19 yards in 7 seasons ... So this is better than Drew as a backup????
  10. Do not know the history between Rochester and Saint John but they had 4 guys in the pentaly box with in the first 4 seconds of the game ! Had to be a record of some sort ... and they took about 3 SJ's players off the ice after being checked .. Rochester mixes great skating with SOLID defense
  11. Saw the Rochester Amerks play yesterday. Was a great game. Crisp passing, hard hitting, was never boring. They won 3-2 . For all teh sabers fans wanting to see some very good hockey team is worth seeing. Their goalie is something else !!!
  12. Thanks Drew for giving your best ... not once did people say you were a slacker - which people in sports can not always say Thanks for being one of the better "team players" a guy it seemed the rest of the team respected. Thanks for playing behind a fiar to poor OL for to much of your time in Buffalo Thanks for being here when the team really needed a leader after that 3-13 season Thanks for einning some exciting games that I got to see in person .... Good luck .. hope you to well in whatever you do from here ... And now LETS support the next QB of the Bills .. JP ... because that's who is the QB ... way life is ..
  13. Thomas .. because OJ was a " slash and cut" runner ... mainly in a white Bronco
  14. Micheal Vick .. most mobile QB ever .. and lets see how well he does .. looks good till he ends up on the helment of some linebacker at 60 mph ... and when the wheels go he will be done .... at least Drew still has a good arm ... if he had the time to throw that the rams give .. but then again they have about 5 good receivers .. what do the bills have ? 1 1/2? Hard to make a team respect your receivers ehn your "best" one (Moulds) can't hold a pass more times than not.
  15. Did anyone see yesterdays paper with the comments from Jim Kelly? Not that he knows much about football .. was just an "average" QB .. but his comments were more against the play calling than the QB ... of course its still " Drews fault" *being sarcastic* .. and if they had won it would have been our fantastic defence ... that gave up 29 points to the second team also ! Kellys comments ... from the D&C It was an open-and-shut case, according to Jim Kelly. By failing to open up the offense last Sunday the Buffalo Bills shut the door on their playoff chances. "I thought the play-calling became way too conservative," the Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback said when asked about the Bills' deflating, season-ending loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. "I was disappointed for Drew (Bledsoe) because I thought the Bills would take some chances. I don't know why they didn't throw the ball downfield more or why they didn't mix in some no-huddle. I think Drew would do well with the no-huddle. He's a bright guy. He could run it." Although bummed about the ending, Kelly was encouraged how the Bills rebounded from a 0-4 start to go 9-7 for their first winning season since 1999. "I think what happened this year gives you hope, something to look forward to," Kelly said. "With (running back) Willis McGahee and (wide receiver) Lee Evans you have some young players you can build on offensively. I think the future is bright." But will that future include Bledsoe as the starting QB? "I don't know," Kelly said. "Drew showed me how mentally tough he is by the way he pulled himself out of that early-season funk and bounced back. But I don't know if the Bills might decide it's time to go in a new direction." That decision will depend on whether Buffalo's deep thinkers believe rookie J.P Losman will be ready to take over next fall. "To be honest, if J.P. had been ready this year, they would have gone to him," Kelly said. "But I don't think J.P. is ready yet mentally. Physically, he has it all. He's got the arm strength, he's a good athlete who can move around and he's a tough kid. But I think it's still going to take time for him to develop the knowledge you need at this level. I do believe he's going to be a good one when he is ready." Though no longer directly involved in football, the 44-year-old Kelly still loves watching games. And, outside of his beloved Bills, the team he enjoys most is the Indianapolis Colts. With offensive weapons such as quarterback Peyton Manning, running back Edgerrin James and wide receiver Marvin Harrison, the high-scoring Colts take Kelly back to the early '90s when he was getting the ball to Thurman Thomas and Andre Reed and lighting up the scoreboard. "I was talking to (former Bills and current Colts general manager) Bill Polian a month ago, and we were talking about the similarities," Kelly said. "Watching James go off tackle and Harrison beating guys deep gets me pumped. It's like I want to get out there under center again." These days, Kelly is getting his athletic fix as the co-owner of a Busch Grand National race team, featuring driver Randy Lajoie. His other business endeavors include endorsement work with Ameriquest Mortgage Co. and 5Linx Enterprises, a telecommunications company. The lion's share of his time, though, is spent running Hunter's Hope, the foundation he and wife Jill started in honor of their 7-year-old son, who suffers from Krabbe Leukodystrophy, an inherited fatal nervous system disease. "Hunter's doing better, knock on wood, than he normally does this time of year," Kelly said. "He's an amazing kid who's defied the odds." As part of his work with Ameriquest, Kelly will attend next month's Super Bowl. And, if his prognostications are correct, either Pittsburgh or New England will leave Jacksonville, Fla., with the Vince Lombardi Trophy in hand. "It's going to be awfully tough to beat the Steelers in Pittsburgh (in the AFC championship game), but if anyone can do it, it would be New England," he said. "With Tom Brady at quarterback and Bill Belichick coaching them, you can never count the Patriots out. Being an AFC guy, I'm just happy to see our conference dominating for a change." And his choice from the NFC? "Who knows and who cares?" he joked, obviously still irked about those four Super Bowl losses his Bills suffered against NFC teams in the early 1990s. "It doesn't matter who gets there, they're still going to lose to either the Steelers or Patriots."
  16. Save it .. you will need it when he is the starting QB next year ...
  17. Boy was hoping the holidays would put people in a better mood .. hard to tell that Buffalo is 10-2 in their last 12 games ... and Drew has as mush to do with that as anyone ... defense included .. no one unit has been perfect .... and people love to point out Drew has QB'ed against some bad teams ... but no one seems to say that the defence got some pretty good stats against the same ... Its still a team game ... and you play who you get scheduled against ... I for one and JUST happy that the last game means something, As to Losman ... his day will come ... and it may not even be 2005 either .. but it will come ... and I hope he has as good a career as Drew ... since he is 7th on the all time listyt for completions ... not bad I would say. And win or lose its been a great year .. considering some of the stupid days that doomed them to start 0-4. Hoping that the Jets lose and we get in .... Go Bills ..
  18. Anyone know where teh nickname .. 49'ers came from??? *smile* Not sure either of teh two idiots do !!! They are bad ... almost high school level announcers .... Make Steve Tasker sound good ... and thats hard to do !
  19. Drew looking good .... was 10 for 11 in one stretch ... 13/21 and 118 yards ... rating of 104 ! Nice .... What a break .. Jax and Baltimore both losing !
  20. Experianced the weather in Cleveland first hand yesterday. We left Rochester at 7am ... wife and 3 kids for Chicago ... and 13 hours later arrived in chicaho ... DRIVING rain from Buffalo to a hour outside Cleveland .. then ICY roads and snow till a good ways into Ohio ... Never say so many cars off the road .. semi flipped .. even a car carrier wrecked .. a couple of cars still on it .. rest ruined ... We have made it in 9 1/2 hours ... 13 was a LITTLE to long ! LOOKINg forward to the return on Monday !!! NOT But as long as the Bills win Sunday ... will be an enjoyable drive !
  21. Unless you having something of value to add to the thread... like some actual conversation ... please find another thread I imagine you beleive Brady to be one of the best QB's in the history of the NFL too? I would find it hard to have him in the top 30 all time ... and no Drew is not in that list either But Drew's life time rating is 76 and Brady is 86 ... if you want to look I am sure there are a LOT of QB's higher than Brady. My point is that he is lucky to be on a VERY good team ... and as long as he plays within himself .. they win ... the Miami game was just a factor of teh game before when he did throw from his ass and make a completion ... and lighting did not strike twice !
  22. Its interesting to see the comments people make .. and how upset they get on what they perceve to be the intent. The original post was about the "lets get rid of Drew" comments that ebb and flow thru the site depending on if he has "lost" or "won" the last game. People seem to think he is "washed up" but the stats seem to indicate he doing no better or worse than what would be his average. He has good numbers when it counts to .. Yes he has not won a super bowl ...there are tons off QB's that have not ... I also do not remember any QB's single handed winning one either ... its a team game .... I am sure there are many QB's that have done a very average job and still won ... I also wanted to look at if Brady is as great as people think .. or as bad as his last game. Neither appears true. Brady has decent numbers for a QB ... maybe even top 10 .. out of 32 QB's. But he is not great. Not by a long shot. There are many who throw better, better rated, run better .. etc ... but he also is on a VERY good team .. I would call great .. great because they win .. and with any team when someone plays outside the system or does more than they should often they fail (another example, Farve lately) So .... I just wanted to show some numbers that back up my feeling ... and maybe take a tad of the emotion out of it ..
  23. I'm a little confused about the statistical samples TDad. Is that just Bledsoe in his Buffalo career? Since Drew has played 2.5 times more games than Brady, I would expect that to be reflected in the statistical samples, but they appear to be about the same. 173897[/snapback] The numbers for both are for their careers .... was suprised that drew was right on his 11 year average .... Was also suprised at some of teh Brady numbers ....
  24. Taylor of Miami Bailey and lynch of Denver The Chargers earned three Pro Bowl spots today when quarterback Drew Brees, running back LaDainian Tomlinson and tight end Antonio Gates For the first time since the playoff season of 1990, they had three players voted to the Pro Bowl when right tackle Willie Anderson, wide receiver Chad Johnson, and cornerback Tory James So far ...
