  1. I must admit, Peters has to prove he can man the LT position before others and myself can just say "LT fixture Jason Peters", but I think he can do it. Also, let's see what Gandy can do at LG for a while before we jump to conclusions, he may do well. Like I said, these last 9 games will show us a lot, especially the left side's future. If that works out, fixing the overall team will be that much easier. Like I said, I'm happy about these moves, and let's let it play out a little before we assume anyone being able to play or not play a certain position. Go Bills!!!
  2. Worst case scenario I could see a Peters, Gandy, Fowler, Reyes, and Pennington line-up for next season. This will depend on if Pennington comes through and Villarial being dust. Now my ideal turnover would be Peters working out at LT, Steinbach brought in at LG, Fowler at center, Reyes at RG and Pennington at RT. I think we'll go heavy on D in the draft again but hope our 2nd rounder is a RG or RT to take over for Reyes or Pennington. Another possibility would be Lenard Davis to play G or RT, not LT where he hasn't been very good. I really don't think any other free agent Olinemen are much better than what we already have. Anyways, all that stuff is still a ways away and these next 9 games will give us a good idea where we can get this unit to become a strength for once. Just babbling, give me your worst.
  3. The DT's in front of him have magically aged him 10 years...........
  4. I ain't like we won't have the cap room. Whatever it takes, like I said. "The Bills happily overpaid for G Eric Steinbach this offseason and it has paid off big time Dick".......... Wouldn't it be great to hear that?
  5. I'm with you on Branch if we go DT in the first. The guy could be the anchor we need and Tripplett is a BUST. Our staff will probably make the "he's too big for this D" excuse though.
  6. Hopefully he throws a Pats employee right off the balcony this week. Now I'm really starting to miss that guy!
  7. I agree with you guys except for KzooMike saying Gandy didn't work out at LG so the Bears moved him to LT? That makes no sense at all. Gee, this guy isn't getting it done at G so let's move him to LT where he can really get us killed!!! Actually, I've said before, I think Gandy will do well at LG but I agree to do whatever it takes to get Steinbach in here. We could still resign Gandy if his play merits it over these next 9 games and let him fight for a job on the right side or servicable backup, hell, it's been a while since we've even had one of those! Who knows, Steinbach could even play LT or so I've heard so I say throw him the freakin' money and let the chips fall where they may.
  8. That is exactly the way the free agency period would have to play out for me to be on board with the Poluzny pick as well. Say Steinbach and DT Terrell Sands from Oakland and then I'd be on board with the "best available" pick with our 1st. With our 2nd CB or RT depending on how our current situations develope in those two spots.
  9. I agree with that assesment except I believe we can get a good player with a 7-9 record. We could get the top RT, G , or DT with that spot.
  10. Long, Brown, Thomas, and Baker at OT. We really couldn't go wrong with any of these 4. Brown plays RT but if Peters works out at LT any one of these guys could just play RT as a rookie and we'd be lookin pretty good at OTs.
  11. I have nothing to say, that just about nailed it.
  12. We shall find out if Marv has gotten wiser Bill. The draft has OTs like Thomas, Baker, and Long, DTs Pitcock and Branch. We better land one of em'. If we want another corner, sign Will Peterson right now as insurance for Clements. He has been training for a comeback and it sure wouldn't hurt.
  13. Yes Rocky Bernard is listed as RDT, but he lined up over Reyes quite often, and I remember watching him get past Reyes for at least 2 sacks. I'm not gonna totally s**t on him because of one bad game though, cause I think he's played well for us. I think Gandy may actually be an upgrade though, let's wait and see.
  14. Right on. I think he's 228 now and could see him just a little under 235. He definitley could use more strength, don't get me wrong.
  15. Reyes played well for them but had a horrible game against Rocky Bernard in the playoffs. Gave up like 3 sacks. Fans tend to remember that kind of thing.
  16. I like Ellison but I'd rather him NOT bulk up to 240. It would hurt his game. I know, we'd all like 240-270 freaks of nature LB's who can run like a deer but those guys are rare. Not everybody can carry that kind of weight without losing speed or agility. I think he'll be fine in the low 230's.
  17. I believe Gandy WILL be a good player at LG. I know many(including myself) are pissed about him totally whiffing on a few plays this year but LG is a different position. Both run and pass blocking may improve at LG and sure, maybe we can ease Reyes in for Villarial at RG as he gets healthy. LT's are very hard to find and not too many can play it. Remember when ALL PRO center Bruce Matthews had to play LT for a game against us and Bruce had 4 sacks? Great center, not too good LT. RT is where we should be worried.
  18. Where to go? The store. What should we do? Get a lot of beer. Seriously though, we won't really have a good idea until we see what happens with Clements and Fletcher. But say they stay, OT, G, DT and DE are the way to go. We can draft all the sexy picks after these issues are resolved.
  19. I'm hoping it will pan out like that as well BfloJohn regarding the Oline this offseason. As I said earlier though, don't be surprised if Gandy plays well at guard. I can't wait for the "Gandy sucks no matter where" posts start flying in but I'm sticking to this until Gandy himself proves me wrong.
  20. I gotta say this move has "re-energized" my enthusiasm for the rest of the season. If things go well the offseason could have quite a different outlook. Even before this move was made though I was thinking don't be surprised at another defense-heavy draft. If some of the new moves on the Oline pan out we may only be looking for a guard in free agency and a RT in the draft, or something like that. Don't be shocked if Gandy plays well at guard either...........he was just a crappy LT.
  21. I love these moves. I'd top it off with putting Merz in for Villarial, keep Preston on the bench.
  22. Just trying to get something for Nate while we can Joe in NC.
  23. I agree that the young safety play is hurting our corners but I'm glad we are getting that out of the way NOW. Also, I want to keep Nate(just not as the highest paid CB) and think it's time to see what Youboty can do after the bye. I'd let him compete at the #2 spot and if he can do it, McGee can move to where he belongs, Nickle Corner.
  24. Good list GuessWho'sBack21. Add CB to that list too. Even if we don't lose Clements we could use one more.
  25. Wow, didn't see this one coming.
