Ain't gonna happen my friend. The imp spent an entire book (two if you count the previous where he ins't even a POV) mearly TRAVELING to the east to find the Mother of Dragons. I have ZERO faith in this author finishing this series in his lifetime...

NO WAY in hell he gets it all done in two more books. He's already expanded that from three to five to seven. I believe he's just bored with the story. Although, as someone pointed out above, the sucess of the TV series may hasten the writing up a bit. The guy needs an editor. Dance with Dragons was about three hundered pages of "and so and so from here had on this, they sat down and ate this" and on...

I bought the four paperback set on Barnes and Noble.com for 20 bucks. Good deal! I also am a huge Philip K. Dick fan, have read almost everything he's ever written. Carl Sagan - another big favorite...

Great Idea! Why didn't he think of this before now? http://content.usatoday.com/communities/theoval/post/2011/09/obama-wants-to-pay-for-jobs-bill-by-eliminating-tax-breaks/1 That will immediately cause those stingy businesses to spend those piles of cash they've been hoarding up and causing him to look bad...

Martin is getting HAMMERED in the reviews for his last two books, and perhaps justifiably so. The first three books of the series were just fantastic. Then it seems he just ran out of ideas, or at least, fired his editor. I read the first three books (~1600 pages) in about four weeks, and it's taken me just as long to slug through the fourth book. Some think that he just isn't interested in this world anymore and may NEVER finish the series. But for what it is worth, the first three books are gold... LOVE my Kindle too. However, if there is a book with lots of diagrams or photographs, I would still prefer an actual physical book...

that would be awesome, but I'm guessing no... -
They absolutely are NOT. The last theatrical release was on VHS...

I just started and finished watching Breaking Bad

wow. Is it possible that this show just keeps getting better? Some very, very important background on Gustavo. I begin to see more facets of the character, all of which are developing him into a very disturbing individual. So we see the origins of the cartel - Los Pollos war. How much anyone want to bet Gus had to take out the big Mexican boss? -
To be frank, I have much less a problem with the prequels being terrible than I do with the constant tinkering with the real Star Wars movies. All I want is a high definition version of the theatrical releases, is that so wrong? Why won't the bastard just do it? Why must his ego prevent him from giving everyone what they want? All I know is that I am done shoving quarters in that repugnant bullfrogs' fat cheeks until he gives me the three Star Wars movies I saw in the damn theater...

They are, in fact, the only legitimate super stars to have come from VT. I bet you can look up the top 20 teams by rank in the NCAA and name more than two super stars from each... -
Well now that the excitement of having new movies has worn off, I am now coming to realize just how horrifically wretched these films truly are. The biggest problem isn't even that they are poor star wars movies, they are actually failures in basic movie/story telling. Lucas is an extremely smart business man, which is why he allegedly targeted children. But he once again fails to understand the basic premise of why the orginial Star Wars movies were so resonant with younger generations. You don't need to put a bunch of kid actors in important roles, kids would just think they were dumb anyways. No kid wants to pretend to be "ani" from EpI, they want to "imagine" themselves as Luke Skywalker or Han Solo. He claims these movies are for children, but yet all three movies are filled with inappropriate material such as: Decapitations, graphic violence, mass murder, amputations, sexual implications and situations, creepy monsters and aliens, assasinations, massive explosions, etc etc etc. Not to mention boring as political dialog about trade embargos. Watch that scene where Amidala addresses the senate in EpI and tell me what little kid would pay attention to that scene if not for cool special effects. EVERY scene in all three movies simply serves as a way to get to another crammed to the ass CGI bull **** shot. By claiming the movies are for kids, he is mearly trying to cover up for ****ty writing. Regarding your explainaton of the plot of EpI in the third paragraph, don't you see how contradictory EVERY action the trade federation and Palpatine took in that movie was exactly the opposite of what they should have done? If you kill the jedi off in the beginning, how does that make the Valorem guy look bad? What Palpatine should have told Gunray to say was this: "Tell the Jedi that we don't want to negotiate, that we are going to land our army and invade Naboo" then let them go back to the senate and tell them everything. Wouldn't that have made more sense, if one wants to create a panic? If the queen was a wuss and just signed the damn treaty like he wanted, then the crisis would have been over, thus defeating the purpose of hte invasion, which was to made the chancellor look incompetent and take over the government. So I still don't get it. And what the hell were the supplies that where so critical to the Naboo? We get TOLD about the death and suffering, but never see ONE piece of evidence for this. What, they can't survive three days without supplies from space on an incredibly lush and prosperous planet? Ugh, see what I mean? It makes my head hurt how dumb this is. And that's not even bringing up the silly orange bunny rabbit that steps in the poopie...

that's exactly my point. They get talked up every single year, yet they lose to JMU and never seem to beat regular contenders. Outside of an occational win vs Fla state or Miami, can anyone name one recent VT victory over someone they were underdogs too? They are the Jets of the NCAA, constantly over rated. Academics (except for those on the football team) are generally pretty good, they are a huge school with many graduates... -

Quick name the top three VT players not named B.Smith, M. Vick, E. Royal, or D. Hall to be worth a damn in the NFL. go! Most over-rated school and program in the NCAA... -
Nothing in Ep.I made any sense. What was the blockade supposed to do? Why would an orginization called the TRADE federation want to stop trade? Why were they in league with the Sith and what were they getting out of the deal? Why did they have a huge army if they were a commerce orginization? If Palpatine's goal was to gain power in the senate, wouldn't he WANT the jedi to go back to the senate and tell them that the blockade was not going to be lifted? If he got the queen to sign the treaty, wouldn't the crisis be over? How would that have gained him the chancerlorship? And this is just the first ten minutes of the film. He had 20 years to write something, and this was the best he could come up with? The script seems like it was written by an eight year old. EpII. simply Ballnumbing! EpIII. better just because it has built in material which automatically makes in interesting. Without the falling to the darkside bit, the movie would have been just as bad as the last two. If you get fed two servings of warm dogcrap, a dried tootsie-roll of a dog turd doesn't seems so bad...

I should clarify something I left out above: I am in no way suggesting that the sucess of Star Wars as a franchise should be credited to everyone but George Lucas. Ok, I sort of did in my first post, but that was really more for dramatic effect. I do not believe him to be a talentless hack, although I do think he has Ewok footie PJs at home. Yes, the man has vision, no doubting that. My argument is that he is simply not capable of doing it all himself. While he has fantastic ideas and can visualize like no other in history, he is actually a very poor script writter, a mediocre director, and that his most sucessfull films, Star Wars, Empire Strikes Back, Raiders of the Lost Ark were the MOST collaborative efforts, while everything else (prequels) were the least collaborative...

I am completely serious. Lucas has been one of the most fortunate film makers in history to have other people make him look good. Sir Alec did not have a high opinion of the film and refered to it after the fact as "nonsense". We were all told (by Lucas) that he originally had this huge 12 episode fantasy that was all scripted out from day one. That is bull ****. He made this story up as he went along, in fact, it has been shown that he didn't even write Vader as Luke's father until the late 1970's after Star Wars was in the theaters. Then there is the constant tinkering with the movies. We are told by Lucas that the original movies were not exactly as he envisioned, but for 25 years, he did nothing with them other than tinker with the sound. Watch the special features on the three prequel movies, and you won't see creative collaboration, you see people scared to death that they are going to piss George off, so they do exactly what they think will please him. The three prequel moveis suffered greatly from this, and the fact that George crapped out the scripts as he went along. Lucas should be thankfull that talented people like Lawrence Kasdan, Irvin Kershner, Gary Kurtz, Richard Marquand and Howard Kazanjian were involved in the original trilogy to take his ideas and forget them into the movies we all loved. Movies, which sadly, are being constantly destroyed by the man's tinkering and "improvements". Check out the following link: http://secrethistoryofstarwars.com/index.html And of couse, there are Plinkett's reviews of TPM, AOTC, and ROTS. If you can get around the attempts at comedy you will find a very insightfull breakdown of just how far off the sequels really are.
